You were quietly reading a book as you sat on the couch of your living room minding your own business when Johnny came out of your room carrying a bundle of clothes. He looked too excited about it too as if he just got a great idea. Your gaze followed him as you adjust the eyeglasses that you’re wearing. He plops down the stack of clothes on the sofa’s empty space and puts his hands on his waist. “Alright,” he announces.
What’s he up to now? you think to yourself. Johnny kept this huge smile plastered onto his face, looking at you, anticipating your reaction.
“Okayyy.” You said initially, collecting your thoughts. “Why did you get your clothes out of the closet?”
“I’m leaving you.” He says so casually and with such a straight face that you believe him instantly. “What?!” You replied loudly. He laughs at your reaction. Johnny always tries to tease you because you can be too serious sometimes. You let out a sigh both because he tricked you again and because you were relieved that it was a joke. You just love Johnny so much, and it would be great if you two can continue your love forever.
“I’m kidding! No, babe.” He clarifies as he clears his throat and says “I just want you to try these on” a little too fast, as if he was embarrassed that he made the suggestion at all. Your eyes fall on the pile of clothes on the sofa, which you now notice are his hoodies. You pick one up, trying to decide if you would. But, of course you would. It’s Johnny’s after all, and who can resist that cutie? However, you wanted to get back at him for teasing you first. So you say, “I don’t know, Johnny.”
“But, bab—“ he tried to protest.
“Ah, ah, ah!” You hold out an index finger to signify no buts.
Now it was Johnny’s time to let out a sigh, his shoulders falling to his sides. He was looking at somewhere else with his sad eyes when he said “I just— I think you’d look cute in them, though...”
Hiding your sly smile was getting hard to hide. He just looked soooo cute. “Who’d look cute?”
“You would.” Now he was kind of rocking side to side, looking at his feet and hands in his pockets.
“Who?” You say a little louder trying to get his attention.
At this point, Johnny just felt frustrated that you wouldn’t wear his hoodie. So, he turned around and raised his voice a little to emphasize that “YOU would look cute, y/n!” His mouth falls agape after saying that sentence. Upon realizing that you’d worn one of the hoodies from the pile, his big smile came back. “BABE!!” He exclaimed.
You mimic his excitement “BABE!!”
He hurriedly goes to you and gives you a biiig hug. “You look so cute,” Johnny tells you in a cute voice, his head resting on your shoulder.
“Do I? Is this why you wanted me to wear this?” He nods, not daring to break the hug. You two let out a chuckle embarrassed at the cheesiness. “And, I wanted to do what other couples did, You know? Girlfriend wearing boyfriend’s hoodies and all that.” At this, you tried to stop the smile creeping on your face but to no avail. It was just so unbelievable that you’re with the person you love who loves you just as much. You two stay in the hug for a while, thankful for each other’s presence.
