Born and raised in Asteria, NC to Jackson & Amelila Adams

Mom passed away when she was young. ( no one knows this was due to a second pregnancy from an affair ). She was a stay at home mom so no one ever knew she was pregnant. They did their best to cover it up because of the scrutiny they’d face from an affair.

Grew up in the Eris District. They did not have a lot of money growing up. Her mother was a stay at home mom despite the bills needing to be paid. A medical condition kept her from maintaining a full time job. Her father has always worked as a security job at the local bank in time. It paid the bills, but they were never wealthy by far.

Has a half-sibling that no one is aware about expect herself and her father. She has never reached out to this half-sibling.

Delilah grew up with exactly what she needed and not much more. Having wants and frivolous items was simply not in the budget. They fixed things on their own and rarely reached out to help from others.

She grew up being kind and empathetic to others. Whether others had it worse or better than her, she did her best to befriend them. And didn’t want people to look at her differently for growing up with the bare minimums.

There were definitely people that teased her for wearing hand me downs or the fact that her mom would sew her own clothes, but Delilah wore them with pride. It was the only way to not be upset all the time from bullying about her lack of wealth and clothes.

Not to say she didn’t have friends. Regardless of how people treated her, Delilah was outgoing and kind to others. She couldn’t afford extra curricular activities like some of the other kids, but she was at every free event that she could attend to support her peers. Delilah, however, did join yearbook club in high school because it meant that she could attend more events for free.

She balanced her school work ( which was mediocre ), yearbook club and working as a waitress at nights to help pay the bills once she was old enough to start working. Delilah was no stranger to hard work and while she often let her school work fall behind, she felt that helping her and her father live a better life was something worth letting her grades slip for.

With the two of them having to do things for themselves, when Delilah saved up for her first car, it was not the best car. It was constantly needing work and well, it was not something she had money for.

Delilah began to learn from youtube videos and a generous mechanic down at the shop that was close with her father how to work on her car. He offered to fix her car for free, but Delilah refused, wanting to learn how to do it herself.

And so she did. Delilah began learning all the workings of her beat up car and quickly, the woman fell in love with being under the hood of a car. She quit her job as a waitress and began mentoring under her father’s friend for much less pay, but she was learning a skill that she felt like she could rely on for life.

With her grades being less than perfect, Delilah knew college was out of the question. And how would she afford it without burying herself in debt? The answer? She wouldn’t. Delilah chose to not go to college, staying in Asteria for work at the mechanic shop.

PRESENT

Since she was seventeen years old, Delilah has been working in Eris at the mechanic shop. Her father’s best friend has been teaching her the ropes. Once she was a few years in, she was hired as a mechanic full-time.

Delilah moved her and her father to an apartment downtown. It was nothing special but it was better than a home that needed more work than it was worth with a mortgage to default. Their apartment was two bedrooms and something that Delilah could afford with her salary down at the mechanics shop and doing side jobs around town for those who couldn’t afford to go to the shop.

In addition to paying for the apartment, once she started working as a mechanic, Delilah stepped up her fashion game. There were no more thrift store clothes, at least not for the sake of not having any money to spend on clothes. She knows that it materialistic but it makes her feel better about herself when she isn’t all greased up down at the mechanics shop.

She maintains friendships easily and while living with her father, she did not do a ton of dating. She did, but they would rarely be invited over to her apartment, as she felt it was disrespectful to him and their apartment together.

Roughly a year and a half ago, her father was shot in a bank robbery. He showed up at the wrong moment ( trying to be a hero ) and was shot. This destroyed Delilah in more ways than one. Her father was her entire rock, her entire life. It was always the two of them, for as long as she could remember. Her own memory of her mother was tainted from the affair, no matter how much her father tried to make it seem like it was his fault.

It sent Delilah into a tizzy, forcing her to focus solely on work just to deal with the pain of losing her father. Any relationships she might have had during the time were ruined by her grieving and inability to move on for quite some time. For roughly six months, all she did was work and work and work. She needed to save up enough money to move out of the apartment.

Living in the same apartment that she shared with her father was out of the question. In those six months of working a ton of overtime, Delilah managed to save and move into another apartment. It was still a two bedroom apartment where she currently has a roommate. Having a roommate isn’t financially needed but the offer was there and Delilah couldn’t turn it down

father’s best friend: this character taught delilah all that she knows about cars and being a mechanic. delilah has been working in the mechanic’s shop since she was seventeen years old. 

roommate: six months after her father’s death, delilah needed to move into a new apartment. upon her move, she reached out to an ad for someone in need of an apartment. 

half-sibling: this sibling was given up by jackson ( delilah’s father ) when ameila ( their shared mother ) passed away after giving birth to the half-sibling. jackson was unable to care for both children on his income and opted to give the other one up. delilah has learned of this, many years ago, but has never approached said half-sibling with the truth and they have lived in asteria their entire lives.

Ashton giggled at her softly. She was cute. Heading t the counter, Ashton ordered what he was told that she liked and immediately came back with her coffee and his were in his possession. “Here you are, Ms. Delilah!” He set it down in front o her before he sat down in his own chair again. It wasn’t like it would be too much for him to buy a new guitar or pay for the repairs. Even if she had broken it, Ashton would pretend it was okay and probably asked his mother for a loan to fix it. She was definitely a famous woman with quite a bit of money and would do anything for him… he’d pay her back but still. “So what are you up too? I’m not keeping you from any sort of errands or anything?”

When Ashton returned with her coffee, her lips curled up to the corners of her eyes with a bright smile. “Why thank you,” she immediately took the drink into her hands and brought it to her lips. “It’s delicious,” her lips slid across her tongue to get the residual flavor off as she set it back down on the table. “Oh, no, no errands.” She told him with a shake of her head, “I was just finishing up a couple things down at work,” she explained to him, “nothing all that excitin’, just some paperwork to be done so the invoices are together when clients come to pick up their vehicle.” She smiled, “What about you? I’m not keepin’ you from writin’ the next big hit, am I?”

Ben had an idea of what was wrong with his car, but he didn’t want to step on the mechanic’s toes by telling her so he waited and listened. He drove a truck like almost everyone else in a small town, his was a dark gray Ford he bought when he turned nineteen and it had been running perfectly fine until yesterday when the engine light came on a minute too late. “I was driving back from the country club.” He didn’t think about whether or not that made him sound pretentious because he hadn’t been there on his own accord, he’d gone for is mother’s sake. There was a point in his life where Ben wasn’t willing to do anything for his parents, but he was older now and more mature, and the things of the past didn’t need to live with him forever. “And it started rattling, the acceleration wasn’t working as well.” He figured it was a spark plug.

There was one mechanic in town and he wasn’t about to drive to Williamsburg to find another. That car wouldn’t make it even if he wanted to. “I don’t know all that’s wrong with it, but I can leave it for a few days if it’ll take that long.” He bought the truck used so it had a lot of wear and tear on it from the previous owner. High mileage, but clean record so far. He looked at the mechanic and her curly brown hair, letting her do her thing and stepping to the side. He folded his arms across his chest and waited for the diagnosis. 

Delilah often wondered when people brought their vehicles into her. The man was standing there, waiting, clearly waiting on her diagnosis but part of her had this prickling feeling on the back of her neck that he knew what was wrong with it. Men typically did. It was something she often had to deal with as a part of her job, but at least he was being relatively polite about the whole thing. “Looks like a spark plug problem,” she told him, coming around side of the truck. “Not much else looks wrong this time. She’s old but clearly you’ve keep her in good condition.” Delilah complimented with ease, “I don’t think you’ll need to keep it over night unless you don’t feel like waiting around,” she glanced up at the clock, “It’s almost closin’ time but I don’t mind stickin’ around to get it changed out.” She offered, “That shouldn’t take me too long at all,” Delilah smiled a him softly.

“I do wonder how teachers are teaching things, cause in the past they would say ‘you aren’t gonna just have a calculator around with you’ and I mean” Jack waved his phone around “We kinda do” He said before nodding “Well, as long as you find it fun, then that’s all that matters. Mechanics are always needed after all” Jack said with a grin. “That’s right! Math is no match for you whatsoever, plus you know that I’m always just a text away if you get real stuck on something, or I mean, the internet. Both very valid options” Jack said with a laugh. “Ah, well, if they ever cause you more trouble then you are willing to deal with, let me know. But I get the feeling that you probably wouldn’t need any help”

Delilah laughed, nodding her head. “Funny how that works out, huh? Can’t pull that little threat on anyone anymore.” She told him with a smile, “Though I am glad we do have calculators on our phones, a total life saver at times.” Delilah admitted with a smile, “The internet and Jack Valentine comin’ to my rescue time and time again over math,” she laughed again, “I think I got the best odds in town to solve math problems as they arise now.” She gave him a single head nod, “You have always been such a good friend,” even if he was her tutor first, she had long considered him to be one of her friends.

Where: Thea’s apartment – downtown When: night-ish

“Have you found any more car shows in the area?” The asked as she grabbed her wallet off of the kitchen counter so she finished ordering their food off of the online app. “Oh, it would be cool if we could find one close to Halloween.” Thea’s thought process was that the car show could have a theme or allow people to dress up.

Once back in her living room, the brunette plopped down back in her spot on the couch and then softly cussed, realizing that she forgot their drinks in the kitchen. “I swear. Sometimes I run around like a chicken with its head cut off.”

Delilah enjoyed hanging out with Thea, both of them having an enjoyable time at the car shows. It was how they first started spending more time together, other than Delilah working on her car. “A Halloween one, huh?” She raised her brow at the thought, looking up at Thea before going back and scrolling through her phone. “I haven’t seen one around Halloween, but you know,” she hummed, “I bet we can start our own and it would be a huge hit,” Delilah offered with a teasing smile, shaking her head as Thea forgot their drinks. “I’ll get ‘em,” she popped off the couch and headed to the kitchen, “I was gettin’ lost in that couch anyhow,” Delilah admitted with a smile, shaking her head, as she set them down in front of the couch, within reach of course. “I cannot wait for the food to get here,” she groaned, placing a hand on her stomach, “I am starving.”

OH MY GOD, what was he doing? Owen wasn’t a stalker and he didn’t want to come off that way, but he could feel a bead of sweat roll down the back of his neck on the spot that he scratched when Delilah looked at him. Delilah Adams was the daughter of the man he murdered. Okay he didn’t murder him, but close enough and he had to do something to make it better. Owen didn’t have much to offer anyone and he wasn’t sure there was anything valuable enough to replace a life. Actually he knew there wasn’t. He was hoping that she didn’t notice the way his knee twitched back and forth in small and rapid movements. Or that if she had noticed, Delilah wouldn’t mention it. She was talking and he was trying to come up with reasons to befriend her and figure out how to do that, maybe— shit. She was talking and he was supposed to be listening. “Er yeah.” Was that what he was supposed to say? The bartender dropped of the drink he order and Owen looked at it until he remembered that he was at a bar and this was normal. He took the drink in his hand and looked at Delilah again, handing it to her. He watched her sip on it and grabbed the one that was for him. “No one stood me up, er, tonight.” That didn’t need to be specified. “Do you, er…. come here often? I don’t know if you remember me. I’m Owen. Owen Ence. We went to high school together.”  

Delilah smiled over at him, “Well, I’m glad no one stood you up tonight.” Though that was no the case for herself. She simply would have to get over it and she would, after a drink or two. “I don’t come here a ton, but it is one of my favorite places.” While it was a little upscale than most places Delilah came to, it brought an atmosphere she simply could not pass up. “I remember,” she told him with a singular nod of her head. “Delilah,” she offered up her own name in response, “I know we never really talked much,” Delilah started, “but my memory hasn’t hit old age yet.” She playfully tapped her pointer finger to the side of her head, “Gimme a few more years on that one,” she laughed softly before turning to take a sip on her drink. “You come here often?” She countered with the same question, raising her brow at him, “It’s actually been way too long since I have been here.”

Jack raised an eyebrow “I was a freshman when I tutored you, a baby. It was like the second semester, but I don’t think the lady in charge wanted me around even then. She probably thought that I was just trying to impress someone. But no, I was just real nerdy” He said with a laugh. He was still plenty nerdy now, but being out of school made it so it wasn’t super obvious now. Jack shrugged “Nah you’re fine, most people don’t think they will either. And I mean, usually, you don’t.” He said, resting his palm on his hand “You just decided to go into a profession where math is kinda important for making cars run” He said before feeling his face heat up slightly “Please, I don’t think it has anything to do with me, you’re smart Delilah, you just remembered it” He said with a grin. He always blushed when he was complimented, he just never knew how to respond to it. He frowned slightly at her next comment. “Well fuck them then. You are just as good they are, if not better I’m guessing”

“You were just a baby,” she laughed. It had always been a weird feat to have a younger classmate to tutor her, but it turned out to be the right person for her. Delilah was the only one that could truly judge herself for doing so poorly in classes. Then and now, she really didn’t judge herself so harshly. She was doing what she had to do to have a suitable life with her father - and now with him gone, she didn’t regret it a moment. She would do it all the same again. “That’s fair,” she laughed softly, nodding her head, “It had taken me this long to even use it, so I get why some never use it at all.” She agreed with a smile, “It’s a bit important, but most of the time it’s pretty mindless. This one threw me for a curveball, but a little math can’t keep me down.” Delilah half cheered herself on, laughing once more. “Oh, they mean well. A little stuck in their ways is all.”

“You’re kidding me?” she asked, aghast. “He stood you up? Ten minutes notice? Ugh, men are pigs. This is why we don’t date,” she half teased. She tended to avoid it for other reasons. She sat next to her best friend and ordered her glass of wine and shook her head at the very thought. “Who was it? Does he follow you on Insta?” she asked, a smirk forming on her red painted lips. “Because we can take some hot pictures and show him what he’s missing. In fact,” she glanced around the bar and spotted an attractive man. “Bet we could get one of you with that total snack.”

Delilah laughed, nodding her head. “Right? The audacity,” she groaned teasingly at Maisie. “You would never do that to me at least,” her elbow nudged her best friend on the arm gently. At least if either of them were to try and cancel ten minutes, the other would be at their doorstep demanding an explanation. Delilah knew the Tinder date didn’t deserve another moment of her time. She laughed, nodding her head, “We did do the whole social media exchange. Had to make sure he wasn’t a total creep or somethin’ like that.” She grimaced at the thought of some guys she was cat-fished by over the last few years. “Oh Maisie Rae Seabrook, I love the way you think.” She nearly squealed as she peaked a look at the man Maisie pointed out. “So diaboilic.”

“Positive thoughts, mom always told me to be positive and try to make the best of life always… but she’s also a broadway actress so like, her life is pretty much always like… stars and sparkles.” Well that wasn’t true but he wasn’t about to tell someone about familial problems. “Anyway, yeah let me tell you that was a whole hell of a lot of money. It cost me so much money and I had to ask my mom for help. Oof, it was bad. I would prefer you knocked over my guitar in it’s case too. And besides, I think that even if it wasn’t in it’s case and you broke it, I probably wouldn’t make you pay for it anyway.” He stuck out his tongue before grinning. “Oh good choice, ma’am, good choice indeed.” He pulled away from the wall, “Yes, that’s right. You can call me Ash though, Ashton is for my mom.” He joked. “Go ahead and have a seat, I’ll grab your drink for you. I could use a tea.”

Delilah couldn’t help but appreciate the optimism. She had learned to grow her happiness bank over the years. It had never come easy to her to find the silver lining when at sixteen years old she had to start working to help keep her and her father afloat. Even though her mother had passed during childbirth of her half-siblings, the bills didn’t stop coming in and they had to get paid off or they would really have nothing at all. “I would have offered to help and pay for it anyway. I mean,” she shrugged her shoulders, “it would have been the very least I could have done.” While Delilah was more well off than she was growing up, she was still rather frugal with her money but if she had broken his guitar? There’s no doubt in the woman’s mind she would have owned up to it with a wad of cash in his direction. “Ash, it is,” she grinned at him, finding herself in the seat across from the one that he was in. “Thank you again, I appreciate it.” She should have been the one buying the drink, at least she felt that way, but he had beat her to the puch.

Mingyu gave her a little nod as she sat and smiled gently at her. As he watched her take a sip of her drink, he tilted his head to the side and played with the stem of his own glass, “Mingyu.” He said, giving her a nod. “You look upset, Delilah. Is it a bad night? Should I ask or would you like to avoid the subject altogether?” Mingyu asked. He could tell she was giving him a curious look like she was trying to figure out who he was. It was a look he was used too at this point; everyone made that face. “You’re wondering who I am. I’ve been living here for 7 years but I’m a loner. I spend a lot of time at home and in my studio.” the same stuff he’d been telling everyone lately. He didn’t blame them, it was unusual he walked around and spent time in public. It then surprised him how bold he was being. Man, this alcohol was really something.

“Just a bit of an inconvenience when my date canceled on me ten minutes before it was supposed to start.” She shrugged her shoulder, having no problem letting Mingyu know what was going on in her life. If she was going to make it quite so obvious that she was having a bad moment, she might as well fess up to the reason behind it all. “I am,” she admitted with a small laugh, “Well it’s nice to see you out and about,” she offered him a smile. “I mean, Asteria has lots to offer.” She had never been anywhere else, exploring the town up and down, left and right over the last twenty six years. Most of her day adventures requiring little to no money, as they rarely had any when she was growing up. “You mentioned a studio?”  Her brow raised, “Are you an artist?” She was curious in getting to know him.

Ever since moving to Asteria, Alexandra had found it difficult to find a moment to herself. At least, a true moment to herself. Everything felt plagued lately, and she was always on autopilot. She hired a babysitter to keep an eye on Lia for the evening, and decided to go get a drink. She hadn’t had a drink in ages it seemed, and she was ready to unwind. She was taking a sip of her drink when she noticed a woman talking to herself next to her. “Consider yourself lucky. Any man like that isn’t worth your time,” she said with a small smile.

Delilah looked over as her self admittance resulted in someone responding to her. It was her own fault really, talking to herself aloud and admitting that she had been stood up on a date. She appreciated the woman’s encouragement, realizing that she was absolutely right. “Next round is on me just for that clarity,” she offered the woman a bigger smile. “Though, not before I find out your name.” Delilah, having done nothing but live and breathe in Asteria, did not recognize the woman beside her. And she rarely let pretty women go unnoticed. “I’m Delilah.”

Mikael pushed his drink back and rested his arms on the counter.  “Tell me about it honey.”  Ninety-nine problems and all of them were men.  Okay an exaggeration, but still.  He waved off her gratitude, “of course darling, no worries.  Looks like you could use a few drinks and I am in the same boat.”  Perhaps he was not stood up, but hell he needed to let loose for an evening.  “Oh sweetheart,” he said with a frown as he turned on the stool to directly look at her.  “My advice, find someone here or on Tinder to take home tonight.  Best way to get over a guy is to get under a different one. Plus he is clearly missing out, you are one fire.  That outfit is on point and I love your hair.”  Turning his head, he reached for his glass and polished off his drink before ordering another one.  “Now, I know I recognize you.  You’re from town, but for some reason a name is not ringing a bell.”

Delilah’s lips parted with a small giggle at his exaggeration. It was a phrase she had used often enough when it came to men or women. Mostly men. Her girlfriends were far less trying on the frustration levels she so clearly didn’t have many of. “Dare I ask what you are tryin’ to avoid with a few drinks?” Delilah wasn’t quite so nosy, though she had spilled her own new without so much of a drop of thought about the matter. Her head tipped to the side, his advice not sounding quite so bad. It already seemed a shame he wouldn’t be interested in the likes of her, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t be an asset in helping her find someone to take home that evening if it so came down to it. “Why thank you,” her hand touched her hair with the compliment, “I actually did put in some effort and you’re right, I shouldn’t let it go to waste,” she told him with a singular nod of her head. “Name’s Delilah,” she offered him a smile, “Delilah Adams.”

Maisie wasn’t one to go to the bar often but after a bad day, who could deny a chilled glass of rosé. She deserved it after the shipment had been delayed and her only employee quit. Now she was all alone, despite her mother’s promises to help. There was no way Maisie would allow that. She’d figure something out. She had to. It was her responsibility. For over a decade the woman had taken care of her. Now it was her turn. But bills kept piling up and chemo wasn’t cheap. So yes, a nice glass of chilled rosé was exactly what she needed. The second she spotted Delilah at the bar, her eyes lit up. “Dee! What are you doing here? Can I join you?”

Delilah sat down at the bar, a drink set in front of her only moments after she ordered. She left a tab open - figuring this might not be the first drink she indulged in that night. An all too familiar voice caught her attention, “Maisie,” she nearly breathed a sigh of relief at the sight of the blonde, “Please, sit,” it took everything in her not to beg the woman. Not that she would have to beg her best friend to join her for a drink, “Well, your one and only has just been stood up on a date ten minutes before it was supposed to happen,” she shook her head, “I honestly cannot believe men have the audacity.”

“Of course because musicians make tuning their instruments seem like the worst thing ever so I don’t blame ya. But I see it like a positive.” But Ashton had come to realize he was a lot more positive than a lot of people these days. “You tripped over nothing? I totally though you tripped on my guitar, that makes me feel better.” He grinned widely, watching her as she smiled. He liked her smile, she was cute. “Oh don’t worry, I get it. I’m clumsy as hell, I blame it on my mom. I trip over nothing all the time. I’ve ruined an art display before because my legs got tangled up in each other once. I had to pay for those damages, that sucked.” Ash finally moved closer to her and propped himself against the wall, looking at her, “Alright, so I remember your name. You’re Delilah. So Delilah, pick your poison- I’ll get whatever kinda coffee you want, my friend. Free of charge, all on me for not trying to catch you.”

“Can’t go wrong with seein’ the positive in things,” even when Delilah was one to admit that she didn’t always have the most optimistic mindset. Even a year and a half into losing her father in the bank robbery gone wrong, Delilah found it hard to always see the silver lining in life. “At least it makes you feel better,” she laughed, shaking her head, “I mean, I went and tripped over thin air, which clearly isn’t so thin if I tripped over it.” Delilah admitted with another bout of laughter leaving her lips. It pushed them into a smile as she brushed a piece of air away from her face. “Oh, ouch,” she furrowed her brow at the thought. Mostly having to pay for the damages, “Hopefully that is only a one time thing and I knock on wood,” she playfully rapped her knuckles against the table, “that that never happens to me. I’d rather almost knock over your guitar,” she teased lightly before nodding her head, “Yes, I am Delilah,” she smiled at him, surprised that he remembered her name. “Can’t go wrong with a caramel frappe,” her guilty pleasure. Arielle had been sitting at the bar, a few drinks before she headed home to an empty bed for the night… no distraction within reach. She turned her head to look over at the woman as soon as she heard her start to mutter, tilting her head a little to the side. “God, I can’t tell you the number of times Nate had to cancel our dates about ten minutes before they were supposed to happen… Who knew the datin’ part keeps going even after you shag them.” She chuckled as she turned her head to look at her beer. “I shared way too much… uh, let me buy you a drink?”

Delilah looked over at a familiar face when she sat down. “Really?” Her brow raised, letting out a low groan. Guys really went and had the audacity to cancel dates like that after they were officially dating someone? Perhaps it was in her best interest to quit while she was ahead. “Sounds like I lucked out and should stop datin’ already,” she laughed, only teasing. Delilah didn’t see herself stopping at least going on dates, but in the moment, she was considering it. “Can’t say no to a drink,” she nodded her head, “Or a few,” she laughed softly, “Next round is on me.”

It wasn’t like Kennedy to be actively avoiding anyone but there were a few scorned lovers in this town that she figured it was best to steer clear of when possible. She wasn’t a dating type and there were a few men here and there that had gotten just a touch too attached to her after a night of rolling around in the sheets and sometimes it was easier to avoid them than it was to make them understand she wasn’t interested. She’d run into Delilah while grabbing a smoothie at the diner and was walking with her back towards her car, making idle chit chat as she went when she’d spotted the man. Kennedy didn’t have anything in particular against Delilah, other than her friendship with Daphne Osman, so she could make casual conversation and not hate it entirely. “Well if you wanna book an appointment just text me I can usually fi-oh shit.”

Kennedy ducked behind a truck, grabbing Delilah by the wrist and tugging her down with her. “Shhh!!” She hushed the other woman as she watched Kyle Baker look around, clearly confused because he thought he’d seen her. “Don’t judge me, I just really don’t wanna talk to him right now.”

A smoothie was never a wrong way to continue the day, though had led her to have a run in with none other than Kennedy Marshall. She had known Kennedy and Daphne to be friends but over the years, their friendship never seemed as genuine in the beginning. Delilah could never quite put her finger on it, but it seemed that Kennedy didn’t like much of anyone, so who was she to judge? Nevertheless, the brunette was surprised by the woman making small talk with her as they walked back to their cars. Delilah was getting ready to say goodbye to the woman, her car only a few places down when a hand on her wrist snatched her behind a truck. Kennedy was avoiding someone it seemed and roped Delilah into the fact. Peering around the truck, she saw none other than Kyle Baker and Delilah could only assume things hadn’t ended so nicely between the two of them. “No judgement here,” Delilah whispered to Kennedy with a shrug of her shoulders, “We’ve all got those people, don’t we?”

Leave it to Mariana Delgado to wreck her car the first week she was in town. Okay maybe it wasn’t wrecked but she’d screwed up the bumper pretty badly and apparently broken something in the engine because it wasn’t running and she’d had it towed to the one and only auto shop in town. Once the tow truck had pulled away, Mariana stepped into the shop and leaned against her car until a young woman appeared and smiled at her. “Oh hi, sorry to just drop my car off like this but it’s like, making a scary noise and doesn’t wanna work after I smacked into the back of a hot firefighters car the other day…anyway the point is I need some help and I was hoping you guys could take a look for me and tell me that it isn’t past the point of no return?”

Delilah was just wiping grease along the blue denim work pants when a woman’s voice caught her attention. A tow truck had just come and left, revealing a brunette standing against the car that was just dropped off. Delilah, never losing an invitation to get to a patron before her older co-workers, quickly stepped up to the woman with a smile on her face. She laughed softly, hearing the woman’s troubles of running into a hot firefighters car, “Well,” she glanced over at the car behind the woman, “Just from lookin’ at it, I don’t think so but I can get her pulled up in the shop and see what’s going on.” She told the woman, “I’m Delilah and I can take care of it today, you don’t want to deal with all those old hags back in there,” she teased, hiking her thumb back over her shoulder.
