Dawsonâs nose burned with the threat of a sneeze. The edge of his shirt was already darkened with wiping his eyes where they stung against the perfume of the florals at hand. Since when did he have allergies? He could be covered in soot and ash, and he wouldnât notice the discomfort until he could was sloshing around in the blisters in his boots. Was it stress? Dawson had rarely given thought to it. He lived every day filling his up and letting it overflow, finding it cathartic to involve himself in anything that gave him a rush of adrenaline and even cortisone. Was the possibility of meeting the Osmans really taking over him, body and soul?
âI give up,â He decided, putting the flowers he had picked back into one of the bins with water. âThis looks like a fifth graderâs motherâs day present. You leave it to the florists for a reason. This is a great idea because it proves I need to spend the extra dime on getting one that was already made. How much for one of those?â
Without saying a word, Mikael stood there watching the other man fumble around with the flowers. Mikael twisted his finger through the locks behind his ear, trying to hold his tongue. By the outright expressions upon his face though, it was clear there was some judging taking place. Finally, a gasp left his lips at the sight and when the other man spoke, he nodded his head. âProbably best to leave it to the professionals,â he agreed. âNot everyone has an eye for certain things.â
At the next question a brow rose, âoh honey,â he expressed. Â âI am not working here, but if I were I would stray away from what you just chose, because,â he sucked in a breath of air and shook his head. Â âI would actually go with,â Â there was a pause as he looked around through the selection and chose a bouquet. Â âGranted Iâm assuming this is for someone and not yourself.â
