Average maekar and baelor interaction
Baby/toddler Maekar headcanons
When Maekar was born and Myriah introduced him to Rhaegal, saying, âlook, this is your baby brother! Youâre a big brother now, like Baelor and Aerys,â Rhaegal was happy yet confused, and asked if he could, âpet,â the baby.
He came out with no hair, and was completely bald until he was a little over two.
He certainly wasnât an easy baby to handle. He was fussy, pulled on hair and jewelry, and often bit his mother and his wet nurses while nursing.
He was a very jealous and clingy baby. He demanded to be held at all times, would throw a fit whenever his parents/brothers would pay attention to someone that wasnât him, and he had a meltdown when Aerys told him that Myriah was his mother too, and not just Maekarâs. (Then he made it worse by adding that Baelor was his big brother too, and that meltdown was nuclear.)
Loved rough housing with Baelor. Baelor would hold him by his ankle like a fresh caught fish and swing him around, heâd pick him up and throw him across the room into a pile of pillows, and a bunch of other shit that scared their mother half to death, and the entire time little Maekar would shrieking with laughter.
He was incredibly easy to rage bait. He hated being called a baby and his brothers used to tease him like, âoh youâre playing with toys? That sounds like something a baby would do,â and he would get all red and scrunched up his face like, âdonât call me that!â

the Daeronlings đ Baelor, Rhaegel, Maekar and Aerys
i will never get over how insane the tourney at ashford is for daeron ii. like your eldest son and youngest son and some of your weird grandchildren go off to a thirteen-year oldâs nameday party. fine, cool, always good to curry favor with nobility and the small folk. except your eldest dies after defending a hedge knight who, according to your youngestâs sonâs eldest son (who is your namesake and drunk all the time) kidnapped your youngest sonâs youngest son, and assaulted your youngest sonâs second son after he attacked a puppeteer for being a puppeteer. on top of that, your eldest son was killed by none other than your youngest son, whoâs youngest son has disappeared, presumably with the hedge knight who apparently kidnapped him and whoâs second son has been exiled for causing this entire mess in the first place. now you have to groom someone else for the throne, your eldest sonâs eldest son, who also happened to be there for the tourney. and then you die less than a year later, like what even.
âA falling star brings luck to those who see it.â
Headcanon that Egg was taught that little superstition by Daeron who learning from their mother Dyanna, a Dayne of Starfall.
Perhaps even after Dyannaâs death, even when he had grown older and stopped believing in magic and the goodness of the world, Daeron held out that hope, and made a wish anytime he saw a falling star and held onto that promised luck.
âPlease, rid me of these dreamsâ
âPlease, keep my brothers and sisters safe. That they wonât carry my curse.â
âPlease, might I be what my father wishes of me. Might I be the heir he needs.â

Maekar is half Targ and half Martell, he would be such a whiny little brat in the north.
Moaning and groaning about how the cold makes his bones ache and his skin crack. Heâs bundled under the thickest wools and furs money can buy and still demanding more logs be added to the fire every five minutes.
His pouty face is made almost endearing by his bright red cheeks and nose.
The last time he visited the north he was three years old. Baelor had tried to convince him to go play in the snow with Rhaegal and the northern lordlings, but baby Maekar wasnât having any of it, kicking and crying because he was cold and wet, and he wanted to go home now.
