Ben Howard on David Letterman
I love Ben Harper!!! His new album I Forgot Where We Are is so great !!!!!
hello! I'm seeing Ben Howard next week and I'm having trouble deciding what to wear... I'm a girl btw Nice blog!
Hey! I think it depends on whatever you feel comfortable in and if you're going to stand in line for him. I stood in line probably for over 3 hours so I just wore a comfy dress, tights, and a cardigan. It was also really cold outside. Check the weather first and then choose whatever you feel good in! I would love for you to come back and message me how the concert goes for you! I hope you have a wonderful time! -Delaney

Throwback Thursday
Hey guys! A little info about me is that I play lacrosse and I didn't realize until now is that doing daily posts is near impossible. So I think whenever I post it'll be when I come up with something or I have some down time. For today, I figured we could take a look at two of my favorite oldie-goldie songs. These two songs are my go-to jam session songs. 1. Rappers Delight by Sugar Hill Gang (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ljUnyv5XUA8) The song has that classic funk vibe and some easy to learn lyrics so you'll be rapping right alongside with them. 2. Kashmir by Led Zeppelin (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nQH3LtNePgI) This is another great classic by my favorite classic rock band. I love blasting this song with my car windows down and just cruising. A thing to clarify with how I end up loving songs is that yes lyrics are important to me but it's the sound that I have to love. Even if it's a random part of the song, if it makes me feel something then I instantly love it. It's hard to describe but sounds are a crucial thing whether I end up liking or loving a song. ben howard My favorite ben songs are: 1. The Wolves 2. End of the Affair 3. Black Flies 4. I Forget Where We Were 5. Rivers in Your Mouth - all of them basically plus his covers - What I love about Ben is that he doesn't care whether he's famous or not. He's a surfer and you can tell how chill he is. I love that he writes about his real life even though he is an extremely personal person, you can feel his emotions. If you haven't listened to him yet, please do because he deserves more fans and listeners. For now, Delaney
Top 5
Today I thought we could take a look at the Top 5 songs on the iTunes' charts. Now I'm not going to lie, I love listening to our local pop station, but the songs do begin to sound the same after awhile. 1. Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars (http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OPf0YbXqDm0) I am in love with song and it is the perfect dance song. I haven't really been a fan of Bruno Mars before this, but I'm beginning to change my mind. I love that he is defining his sound as this "old funk" style and I think if he keeps it up, he's going to stay around for a long time. 2. Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran (http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lp-EO5I60KA) Ed Sheeran has never done anything for me. His songs always sound the same and I continually find myself wanting more from his songs. I want him to get deep and find something in his soul that will really make me take a look at him. This song is very sweet and is going to be the new cliche wedding song. 3. Sugar by Maroon 5 (http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=09R8_2nJtjg) This is the quintessential Maroon 5 song. I am completely in love with this song and it fits them and their style so well. I'm not expecting a band like Maroon 5 to dig deep like I do with Ed Sheeran. This song hits all the right things for me and I'm sure it is going to be added to the "Greatest Hits" album of theirs. 4. Four Five Seconds by Rihanna (I can't seem to find a good link for the song so if you want to hear it, I suggest to listen to the preview of the song on iTunes) Rihanna's voice sounds absolutely amazing in this song and I really enjoy it, but it's definitely not my favorite. The harmonies are great and it brings a soul to this song along with Kanye West and Paul McCartney as an added bonus. 5. Blank Space by Taylor Swift (http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=e-ORhEE9VVg) Taylor has done it again. Managed to win me over with another undeniable catchy track. If you love Taylor, you'll love this song. The only problem is that every time I hear it, I can't stop thinking about this Vine where two little girls sing it. Taylor, I hope you are now going to be considered Pop because there is no way that this could be argued as country. For now, Delaney
Hold me close and hold me fast The magic spell you cast This is la vie en rose When you kiss me, heaven sighs And though I close my eyes I see la vie en rose When you press me to your heart I'm in a world apart A world where roses bloom And when you speak, angels, sing from above Everyday words seem To turn into love songs Give your heart and soul to me And life will always be La vie en rose

First Post and Future Postings
Good afternoon.
My name is Delaney and I have created this blog to share my favorite music and help y'all find some new music. I plan on posting daily stuff, like my Top 5 songs of the day or a review of a new album. Or maybe a new song and artist I heard and am now completely obsessing over. This is just a place to share new music and explore different music genres.
So for today I figured that I could talk about a concert that I just went to two days ago. Ben Howard was performing at the Tabernacle in Atlanta and let me just tell you how amazing it was. If you do not know who Ben Howard is then stop reading this and check out his amazing stuff, such as:
Call Me Maybe Cover: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPU8V-nvUEk
I Forget Where We Were: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TpeK3zvmx2c
Hideaway Cover: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCHMzYYYKiU
End of The Affair (which is one of my personal favorites): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Unz9gWteR1s
Dancing in the Dark Cover: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCD4EX5ThqQ
It was four years ago and my friend posted a link to his Call Me Maybe cover and I was instantly in love. Of course I had to immediately buy his Every Kingdom album and from then I was a huge fan. Every year for my birthday or for Christmas, I parents would ask what I would like and as a joke, I would respond "Ben Howard tickets, but it's not like that will ever happen." I thought this to be true because he never left Europe and would only do festivals and concerts over there. Fast forward to last year and I get a notification from his Twitter account and it's a tour announcement. Curious, I click on it and looking through the names, I start to see cities in America. I couldn't believe my eyes. There on the 21st of January, he was going to be in Atlanta, Georgia. Immediately bought my ticket and that's that. So back to present time, his concert was amazingly beautiful and moving and I could feel his pain. If you go read the lyrics from some of his newer tracks, you can feel the pain of whatever break up or heart break he has gone through. I had no idea someone could be so talented on the guitar as well. The things he did on his guitar will absolutely astonish you. Check out his music, you will not be disappointed. I would also recommend to quickly go buy a ticket to his show, but I believe almost all of them are sold out. If that doesn't tell you what kind of musician he is then I don't know what will.
For now,
Delaney
