#my thoughts - I use this tag for my reactions to certain games, manga, anime, etc. (Sometimes it’s on my review posts as well)

#review - This tag is for any serious review post I make. It’s usually for when I would or would not recommend the reader to check out that game, anime, etc. #my art - For anything I drew! I'm still a beginner and just doing this for fun! Nothing too serious!

I am comfortable with discussions. In addition, I’m totally fine with people disagreeing with me! HOWEVER, I’d love it if you could keep it civil.

I am not very active I’m pretty busy. I do reblog a lot though!

have to yap about a scene from Another World/世外 because i can't stop thinking about it

(major spoilers for basically the entirety of Another World below)

there's this morbid hilarity in seeing a pale, frail child who simply cannot be a day over 13 breaking down crying and screaming with so much distraught in her voice, ‘I've killed so many people, I'm an evil person’, just completely inconsolable. and it means so much to me that, even through that hilarity, i couldn't stop crying throughout that entire sequence.

this is a child who has lived nine hundred and ninety-nine lives to atone for a sin she didn't commit, who on her thousandth and final one can only look back and feel reaffirmed that she's evil after all, because she was the catalyst for so many atrocities and misfortunes. but you've seen her giving up her own meal to a stray cat. you've seen her cry hysterically over her fallen father. you've seen him beg to become an unrecognisable monster just to stand up for his village. you've seen him readily loose an arm to lead a revolution. you've seen her relentlessly search for her sickly and starving little brother into the afterlife to give him the tiniest scrap of food even when she's starving herself. you've seen her playfully jumping into a puddle, exploring a strange world with wonder, re-crooking a mask that had been fixed upright, making the best out of every bad thing that happens to her. a child whose innate humanity moved a being in the afterlife to the point of swearing to protect it for another thousand years.

you know she's not evil — how could someone who's cared for and given hope to the people around her for a thousand lives, someone who's so precious that so many people willingly gave up their own lives for her safety and happiness, be evil? but you can't ignore the countless bodies that have piled up beneath her feet, you can't deny that there are moments where she had been cruel and callous. this is the same person who tortured her father's closest soldier to death, who executed even her most loyal subjects, left her kingdom to ruin, who turned his back on his family and friends for a dangerous quest when they needed him the most, and who knows what other horrific things she could've done in her other nine hundred and ninety-six lives. and all you can say in the end is that her circumstances were tragic and unfortunate. seeds of evil were sowed when humanity learned to distinguish good and bad, and maybe by trying to categorize her as either one would only deny her humanity.

she is a mortal trying her best, and she's a child with so much love for the world around her insisting she's an irredeemable monster for all the good things she didn't do and all the bad things she didn't prevent despite keeping to her humanity through it all. and there's something so, so twisted and raw about it.
