honestly though Will getting sick changes the whole dynamic of his relationship with Nico, like, as soon as Nico finds out, he’s going to hate Will. enemies to lovers. Nico knows Apollo had a kid get sick and he hates that kid because he feels like if he hadn’t gotten sick, Artemis would’ve paid more attention to Bianca’s recovery and Bianca would’ve lived. as soon as Nico finds out that Will is that kid, he calls off the engagement because he blames Will for Bianca’s death. poor Will is in love with Nico and so confused and heartbroken and tries to earn Nico back, but everything he does seems to make Nico hate him even more…especially when he reveals that he was with Bianca in her final moments while Nico was not and Nico feels so much resentment and jealousy

and then years later, the parallels between Nico blaming Will for Bianca’s death and Will blaming Nico for his brothers’ deaths??? ough ough ough

also like it changing his relationship with medicine shdhdhdj like knowing first hand how that pain felt and then wanting to cure it, like he saw ppl suffering but its one thing to see it (in gorey detail but still) and then experience it? and it changes his realtionship with aeslechlyus (however u spell it) so much bc his student was ill with it and knows how important their pain relief project is bc he was in that pain and wanted to ease biancas as she was dying dhdhdhdh brrrr my brain melts at all the potential dynamic shifts
