When I was thinking about this scene today, I thought about all the other trauma that Rick's experienced in the show (Tammy shooting Bird Person, BP trying to kill him, etc.) and how everyone else blew him off or didn't know how to deal with it. But not this time. After Rick killed Prime, Morty's first instinct was to run to Rick and hug him.
