Akali’s cheeks light up in response to the kiss as she takes the gift. No, she’s not blushing. Definitely not. It’s just the lighting on her face. She’s not going to admit that having Raven with her on this day makes her stomach get filled with butterflies and her heart flutter like it would fly away any second and let her woman take it.

“You make it sound like I’m some sort of blessing, babe.” Although her words form some hint of disbelief, her tone is teasing, offering her partner a smile and a wink. “If anything, between you and me, my eyes are blessed just looking at you now.” She lifts the box at face level right before she finishes her sentence, pretending to refer to the present for a moment, before chuckling.

The box is lowered and she wraps an arm around Raven to lean up and give her a proper kiss. “Kidding. You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me. Thanks for being here.” She says with heartfelt honesty when she pulls away. See, she can be open about her feelings. It just takes her a while to make sense of all the fuzzy sensations in her gut and the millions of thoughts about Raven that run through her head.

Mushy stuff aside (for now), Akali turns her attention to the present that her girlfriend got her. For a split second, she’s tempted to shake it to try and guess what’s inside. But no. Raven’s waiting to see her reaction—and there were many times that the rapper got to be on the receiving end of the woman’s unamused stare because she messed with something that was definitely not supposed to be shaken or handled roughly.

Akali tries her best to preserve the smoothness of the wrapper as she opens it, but she still ends up ripping it slightly in some places. That’s okay though, because the content of the box is finally revealed.

A tiger plush.

Her expression then changes to resemble like she just saw a precious stray kitten that she wants to keep and persuade Raven to agree with her. “Aw,” she coos, carefully taking the tiger out of the box to hold it. It’s so soft. And cute. And fluffy. The meaning of the gift isn’t lost on Akali. It’s undeniably sweet. She’s so, so lucky to have Raven in her life.

“Babe...” She looks back at her partner as if she’s giving her puppy eyes. “Did you make this? For me?” Don’t cry, don’t cry— God, something about the tiger plush makes her heart feel like it’s ten sizes bigger than usual. The effort that her partner put into this is what makes the tiger all the more special.

“I hope this doesn’t mean your nickname for me is actually for this li’l guy.” One last joke before she becomes a tad bit too emotional to continue. Only Akali can be Raven’s little tiger. Arms are thrown around her woman to pull her into a kiss, which turns into a second kiss, and a third. Wordless affection to convey what’s seen in her eyes when she looks at her significant other, when she intertwines their fingers together, when she erases the distance between them. I love you. I love you, I love you.
