Hello, sir. I just saw a saying: Originality is undiscovered plagiarism. I very much agree with this. Because I often feel that the stories I write are a mix of plots from the works I have read. Have you ever had the same thought? What do you think of this saying? I'm very confused and looking forward to your answer.

We are dwarfs standing on the shoulders of giants, as Isaac Newton said. Lots of wonderful stuff has been done before us. But that doesn’t mean nothing’s original. It just means you have a starting point of now.

When you start out as a writer you are going to sound like other people and your fiction is going to taste like everything you’ve read. As you write more you will sound more like you. And sooner or later you’ll be writing the stuff only you can write.
