This drama just won’t leave Eric alone
I loved the outfits for That’s Right
old but gold
that intense stare, those sparkling eyes (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
old but gold
This totally sums up my thoughts on some fans reaction on ERIC’s wedding announcement.
seriously guys, don’t be a disappointment. be happy he found someone.
He protected Shinhwa, Shinhwa Changjo and the color Orange for almost 20 years. Are you really going to turn your back on him now? After everything he did? unbelievable.
we always prided ourselves to be a part of a mature fandom. this totally proves how mature we are. such a shame.
ERIC OPPA, get married. make beautiful babies and just be happy. TRUE FANS WILL ALWAYS BE HERE FOR YOU.
as for the other members, it’s time to get married so we can also get married. hahaha. but seriously, be happy. you 6 deserve it.
to all SHCJs dont look at this in a negsative way. ERIC will never abandon shinhwa and shcj. he loves us too much. trust him.
cr. @elybuendia9001
(intro on the tweet: ely buendia is one of the most popular and respected musicians in the Philippines. he is also one of my musical inspirations.)
Shinhwa, being old, idolhood, rambling.
I reblogged a thing here, it was a more reasonable approach to why kshcj are kinda butthurt, but really the only thing that held water for me was the asking off time for promised events and then dates and times get moved, and, tbh, if you’ve followed these pabos for a week you know not to trust them in matters of timing. They’re habitually late, but they always show up.
I don’t see how Eric is being a bad leader. I see Eric as being his best true self and that’s amazing in a leader. I see him using the most wide-reaching tool he had to let every fan know at once because we ALL matter, not just the ones in the fan cafe. He hit Twitter and Facebook in four languages.
Sure he denied it early. I would too if I knew an angry pack of rabid children would light up the internet against my girlfriend/fiancee. I’m grateful that most response I have seen was rational and congratulatory. I’m disappointed that there are people out there who feel like they had a right to know “first”. I don’t like the idea of fan club class war.
They apparently never do anything in the fancafe, but I’m not surprised either, they aren’t NewBand from SM being forced to interact with fans under threat of …. whatever they threaten with now. Probably obscurity. Don’t interact, and we won’t give you shows. I honestly expect that unless you have VIDEO of interaction, the Big 3 companies have people who sit in the fan cafe and pretend to be the idols. Jinnie was doing so many V-live events for a while I almost turned off his notifications. Eric and Andy and Hyesung aren’t the sort to do that. Dongwan gives his fan service in his way, on his whim. Minwoo just works himself to death. Who am I to demand they give me more? Whose place is that ever?
They are 38/39 year old men. They aren’t 20-something pre-army kids who are being shoved down your throat to make you buy stuff. At our age you start to see the world different, and I have to wonder if it’s managed to get past all the Idol-dom too, that these years, the late 30s, going into 40 and on, are when you really start to see who you are and who you have been all these years and, at least in my experience, you get tired of having to be what anyone else wants and you be yourself. Maybe that’s why most idols don’t last past their 20s, if the culture is all about having to be what a bunch of angry fans and netizens insist you be. But I’m all for letting them be themselves and see if we all still love each other. I’d still drink with them and let them teach me games. Here we just drink and talk. Or maybe play beer pong I guess. I envy them their drinking snacks and games. But I digress.
Shinhwa after 10 has not been the same as Shinhwa before 10. Before 10, someone else was always telling them what to do. Now it seems like a subset of SHCJ wants to be their new entertainment company and I’m not sure I’m down for that. I want to see what they do as themselves. Even, I guess, if that means they drift off target and turn into something that is Shinhwa but different. I don’t need them to be idols except that it makes it easier to get their DVDs and merchandise.
And that’s a thought. Are they idols anymore now that they are more often showing something closer to a True Face to the fans? Idols are things of worship. Mystique. Perfection. These guys relax an awful lot on camera to be truly Idols. And I’m super cool with that. I like seeing them drink. I don’t even care if I saw them smoke except for broadcasting regulations and the fact I wish they didn’t smoke at all. I like Junjin having a two hour music set and sniffle and heart-baring moment. I like Dongwan randomly giving us videos where we hear him and can’t see him. I like that they disappear for me as long as I know it means they are doing something they want to do.
I don’t feel like they owe me anything. I’m grateful to the end that I have what I’ve gotten. If they say fuck it, y’all are too much or this is too hard and they stop, I’m going to cry my heart out but I’ll wish them all the best. And if they keep doing this for the rest of their days, I’ll keep following and watch what they become as they grow and age.
I guess if there is one benefit to being international, it’s that I have never had enough given to me to have any expectations of more. I get my bowl of gruel and I eat it, and it keeps me alive, and I look forward to the next bowl of gruel and maybe dare to hope they use a bigger ladle.
My only horse in this race at all is that kshcj are the reason I even get gruel, and if they turn on the boys, I’ll be eating leftovers I stashed away for the rest of my life.
170419 Former Congresswoman Jeon Yeo-Ok: “I Will Vote for Someone Like Shinhwa’s Eric for President”
[Newspim=Jung Sangho] Former Congresswoman Jeon Yeo-Ok encouraged people to vote for the upcoming presidential election as she also congratulated Eric and Na Hyemi’s marriage.
On April 17th when it was announced that Eric and Na Hyemi were getting married, Jeon Yeo-Ok wrote on her blog “Eric is getting married to Na Hyemi. I liked Eric. I am sad but congratulations to him.”
Jeon Yeo-Ok wrote “I wish we had a Leader like Eric who sacrificed himself for Shinhwa. He could have made more money but kept Shinhwa going with his friends”.
“So I still go around telling people I am part of Shinhwa Changjo.” wrote Jeon. She added “I wish there were attractive presidential candidates like Eric, if a candidate can stay determined willing to sacrifice himself/herself, I will vote for that candidate.”
On the other hand, Eric announced on Shinhwa Company’s official social media “The wedding will be held with only family and close friends at a church in Seoul”
Next is the full blog post by former congresswoman mentioning the marriage between Eric and Na Hyemi
Eric and Na Hyemi are apparently getting married. I liked Eric. I am sad but congratulations to him! Reading ‘I have met a partner to live my life with’ from his post reminded me that the presidential campaigns are starting today. Nowadays, celebrities are the ‘leadership class’ of the society ~ㅋㅋ I have seen campaign posters, strategies can be seen right through. It is really starting now. Have you guys made up your mind? It is down to two candidates for me now~ But I have come up with my own ‘voting strategy’. ‘Think about it carefully until the last minute.’ I am not young and I have gone through many elections in my life. Once I decided in a matter of seconds. I pondered over it for a long time and ended up abstaining (it was the last one.) The pain of abstention was bitter and sad. When I saw the news that candidate Park Geun-hye was elected, and also saw people cheering with hope, I felt a bit of fear of uncertain future in the corner of my mind. During four years of difficult times, I strongly regretted my decision not to vote. I blamed myself for underestimating, the power of an individual vote. I am voting this time for sure. However, I am going to examine and compare each candidate until the end. It might change daily. It can be different in the morning and in the evening. There is only one reason that I have not made up my mind. When I have decided, I do not want to be that ‘dangerous supporter’. The biggest mistake of a voter is to become a ‘human shield’ for the candidate that he/she supports. There is absolutely no need for that. Candidates should be examined thoroughly and ruthlessly. I am going to watch the process of ‘Voluntary Gladiators’, fighting their beasts as a spectator like the ones from Roman times. I am going to see if candidate appeals his/her beliefs with his/her heart. If he/she is using well thought-out policies as his/her weapon, and how he/she reacts against opposing comments and opinions.
I would like the new Leader to be like Eric, who sacrificed himself for this idol group. He could have made more money but he keeps Shinhwa going with his friends for almost 20 years. So I still go around telling my friends that I am part of Shinhwa Changjo.
I wish there were attractive presidential candidates like Eric, if a candidate can stay determined willing to sacrifice himself/herself I will make a historical decision and vote for him.

I’m seeing a lot of ifans blame kfans for leaving…
I haven’t seen anything like that… I saw some people complaining about Shinhwa Company long before but I didn’t see anything right after Eric’s announcement. Care to share some links of what K-Fans are saying, you don’t need to translate just point me towards the text? I tried searching but can only find congratulation messages.
Hello @ukki-kun,

Kim Deng showing off his dance skills in these gg dance covers
Cause they are art!
The past April 15 was the International Day of Art. So, was too the Day of six artistic men: Shinhwa members. Somebody can ask me why and I will answer: have you heard them sing or dance? Is like see art in live, art in movement.
With their song, performance and personality, they personify the 9 Muses of Greek Mythology (yes, like Shinhwa name >.<)
(Muses dance with Apollo by Baldassare Peruzzi)
Euterpe (Music): their skills are not joke and vocal line and rap line create the perfect harmony.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EG-z51GjC48
Clio (History): first generation of kpop and creators of a really legend; 19th anniversary is not a simple task.
Thalia (Comedy): I will take this one like we know this today, a thing that make us laugh, and when Shinhwa Changjo want laugh, Shinhwa is the best. They are the kings of variety shows.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYEXjXJzIio
Melpomeni (Tragedy): unfortunately their story is a good example of it; they are overcome a lot of hard obstacles together and thanks to this they are very strong, but this not means that they not need help. Shinhwa Changjo are the best shield for Shinhwa when they afford a problem that can be create by the same Shinhwa Changjio (of course, I speak about the new “obstacle” that this legend need overcome and that surely they will surpass with our help, cause a marriage is not a tragedy is a moment very important and happy for the people, you know?)
Terpsichore (Dance): not only the two powerful dance machines of Shinhwa, all the members do their best for make awesome and novel choreographies.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjJ5hfWSbqg
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWSNs7uWMCQ
Erato (Love Poetry): each song of Shinhwa talk about love, sometimes subtly, sometimes sad, sometimes sexy, and we need to see all the beautiful love poems that they dedicate to Shinhwa Changjio. We need to feel the love of the for us? Only heard this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3HpY3LWuL4&index=24&list=PL2C1B0C4C85C49A5C
Polymia (Divine Hymns and Mimic Art): “My everything, part. 2” from seventh album (Brand New) is indeed a beautiful divine hymn. And we need remember the cast of our dear Kim Dong Wan: a mimic performance.
Ourania (Astronomy): the original presentation of Shinhwa was “Moving like a comet, we’re Shinhwa!” Not take this like an ephemeral thing cause the comet, but like a dreammaker. Come on, Shinhwa Changio, ask a wish to this truly “Shooting Star”!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awZb5iUp57U
Calliope (Heroic Poems and Rhetoric art): they are the heroes of Shinhwa Changjo, they are epic, like each comment of the Witty Guy, Dong Wan, that one day, with all his rhetoric skills, say “Shinhwa will never let you fall” and too “Shinhwa will go on till we die, and I trust the memebers, and also Shinhwa Changjo, who always by our side” (translation of malpabo of the account Dong Wan’s Facebook, 170420). And speaking of Rhetoric Art, there is a letter of leader Eric Mun that was included in textbooks thanks to the great argumentation.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W53EVX52v30
This is too much? This is only a little part to all the art that Shinwa make day to day: all for Shinhwa Changjo. And both are my muses for each post.
To end, the art have many ways to manifest itself, is his amazing characteristic and Shinhwa is an orange way, that Shinhwa Changjio walk with them.
(Sorry for update this so late, here is 20 April. I apologize too for the superficial post. I will try to be more detailed in the future. Remember: if you see some error, make me knows for fix it. Thank you! #AlwaysWithShinhwa)
Interview Test Tip: Remain composed until the examiner is out of sight
Junjin: Which do you love more, sleeping in or taking a nap?
Hyesung, smiling to himself: I love to do both... I'd love to sleep in and then take a nap.
Kim Deng
Kim Dongwan loves to go out doing his own thing. So, it wasn’t that hard to know what kind of car he drives or what he did because there are always netizens and fans reporting on the web.
1. SsangYong Korando, black - Celebrity cars list 2001.
I only have a picture of him in 2002 posing with his rc airplane behind a car. It has the same plate number with the car at the parking compound of Shinhwa’s apartment on Love Mansae 2001.
2. Mercedes Benz Brabus SL500, black - Celebrity cars list 2003.
I think he drove the car in Good Morning 2005, but his driving part didn’t show much about the car, only him on the driver seat, lol.
https://youtu.be/FQcvtkitUec?t=4m31s
3. Renault Samsung SM7 3.5 - Celebrity cars list 2007.
Seen by a parking attendant.
4. Porsche 911 Carerra 4S, red - Celebrity cars list 2009.
Netizen reported Dongwan bought a Porsche Carerra in July 2007.
A picture of him from his old blog in October 2007.
5. Porsche Cayenne.
In 2009 Dongwan wrote on Oreobox about his SUV having a problem and taking it to service, I’m not sure if the SUV was the Cayenne he mentioned in June 2013 interview.
6. Mercedes Benz SLS AMG - Celebrity cars list Feb 2013.
First seen in April 2012. Dongwan mentioned about the car in June 2013 interview when he was asked what kind of car that he drive. First tv appearance on I Live Alone (ILA) Nov 2015.
7. BMW 120D, red hatchback
Dongwan was seen driving the car when he did his reservist training in 2013. The last time I saw the car was from fancams after the 16th Anniversary concert in 2014 finished.
https://youtu.be/d7G_hgOgZ2s?t=23s
8. Porsche Boxster 981.
First seen in February 2015. First tv appearance on I Live Alone April 2015. Media reported it as Porsche 911 Carerra, probably confused it with the Carerra Dongwan mentioned in June 2013 interview. The model confirmed by netizens as Boxster.
9. Black Audi? MPV.
November 2016. I saw a picture on twitter, but later the owner deleted the picture of him with Dongwan and a black car. I might be wrong and Dongwan probably didn’t buy a new car, but Dongwan was in a new MPV when he did V-LIVE on his way back to Seoul from Gangwon-do in December 2016.
Motorbikes / Bicycles.
Dongwan bought his first two wheels when he was in high school with his own money after working in a factory and a chicken rib shop. MC Mong wrote on his blog about riding Dongwan’s scooter during their high school days. I’m not sure if before he bought his Harley there was another motorbike, but Junjin did told a story of Shinhwa early days about Dongwan’s motorbike fuming with smoke.
1. His grey mountain bike during his rookie days .
2. Harley Davidson FXDI Dyna Super Glide - May 2002.
Netizen reported he saw Dongwan bought the Harley across the street and was trying his very best to take pictures from afar like a papparazzi, lmao.
Source: taehoozzang
3. Unknown superbike.
4. Unknown Harley Davidson in his The First photobook.
Sorry for recycling/posting this picture again.
5. Unknown mountain bike posted on ShinCom FB November 2013.
5. Specialized Enduro S Works.
First tv appearance in I Live Alone April 2015.
6. BMW F800R 2015.
First tv appearance in I Live Alone February 2016.
7. Specialized road bike - 2016.
Cr to pic owner.
Lastly, I’m not sure if this Honda CBR900RR Fireblade in Love Mansae was his or not, it could the motorbike was prepared by the production team, but I’ll just share it here.

SHCJs who are angry because Eric is getting married why and what do you want Eric to be actually?? Maybe you dont wish Eric to marry now then when do you expect him to?? Would you still be angry when he get married when he is 50s?? How about 60s or you wouldnt even care about him then bc hes too old so better to stan younger idols right? WHAT DO YOU WANT ACTUALLY URGHH
I thought you care for him as a normal human being and wish for his happiness irl too and not only to slave himself as an idol his whole life but maybe I am wrong. He is only your subject for delusion and who cares if he didnt have family of his own as long as he have you guys. Like that??
Yes people are mad for the latest shinhwa promotion too saying its too short and they rarely cb anyway and Eric’s marriage news only make it worse to the point of disbanding shinhwa?? Do you even listening how ridiculous yourself sounded??
Well recent promotion did disappointing but I just treat it as an experimenting period for shinhwa to ease my heart (i know i sounded pathetic here but i cant explain better) and I believe they could rise again in next cb if they plan it well. And besides, they already explained why this cb was a mess bc the change in title song and all so cant you be understanding just this once?? We cant expect everything to be smooth all the time so cant yall just accept this as a minor bump??
And shinhwa disbanding are you kidding me?? I’m not gonna regurgitate again all the ‘they have many chances to disband but they persevere together 19 years later’ and ‘eric is the best leader for shinhwa and kpop in general, a man of his own word’ thingy others have said that too much go read their articles.
I’m lost of what I want to say now. If you wanna go just go its your choice you should take care of your life and nobody gonna blame you for that. But if you go because you lost your trust in shinhwa and have resentment towards them just know its not their fault and it is your loss to lose those great men.
eric’s marriage + thoughts
A prerequisite to this post is that at the end of the day Eric wanting to get married is not and should not be an issue. I am happy that he will be starting this new chapter in his life. I just wanted to share some thoughts I have been having about the current situation.
I have only been a Shinhwa Changjo for only 2 years now. In the context of Shinhwa’s career that is a minuscule amount of time. Regardless, Shinhwa are a group that I love deeply, and I have never felt such a strong sense of attachment towards an idol group before. I have had an interest in K-pop for about 6 years, and I have of course liked other groups in the past. But Shinhwa are different, my love for them is much deeper.
In the back of my mind I had always known that they would get married eventually, they’re in their late 30s after all. But, I had a tendency to brush it off, dismiss the idea. After seeing Eric’s post about his marriage I was shocked, somehow I wasn’t expecting it. Even after hearing the news of Eric and Na Hyemi dating, and that they’ve been together for over 3 years. It still caught me completely off guard.
That being said, Eric’s marriage announcement isn’t the first I have been through. Back in 2014 Super Junior’s Sungmin released the news that he was getting married. The two cases don’t hold much similarity to each other, other than the fact that Eric and Sungmin are both active idols. But, I still would like to mention it because of the contrast. I remember the havoc Sungmin’s announcement wreaked within the fandom, both domestically and internationally. Fansites closed, people left the fandom and there were even petitions for him to be kicked from the group. Even now after over 2 years, whenever Sungmin is mentioned in the media, these sentiments still ring true to some. The fandom (especially within Korea) seemed to turned their backs on Sungmin. It was scary to see people who had been his fans for years suddenly lash out, and say they felt betrayed. The situation of which the marriage was announced wasn’t well timed. Fans were also angry that they only heard the news through the media. The other members later mentioning that there was miscommunication between him and the members regarding his marriage. There is a lot more to Sungmin’s case that I won’t mention here. If you’re interested, you should read into it yourself.
Shinhwa Changjo’s should be thankful that Eric announced it himself. I’m thankful that Eric isn’t receiving the same backlash, because as I previously mentioned, it was scary to watch. The vast majority of Shinhwa Changjo’s as a whole seem to be taking the news well. Sadly, at the same time the announcement has instilled fear regarding the future of the group. Shinhwa has continually promised that the group will stay together for many years to come. They’ve had many instances were disbandment could have occurred, but they were able to survive. Next year will mark their 20th anniversary, something that many groups can only dream of. I hope that between now and then (and beyond that!) Shinhwa Changjo’s will keep supporting Shinhwa and Eric. It’s sad to see fans leave over something like this. We need to trust them to keep their promises.
I won’t argue with fans who are somewhat disheartened by the news. It’s understandable. To fans of Eric, you’re allowed to feel a bit sad, it’s completely natural. I myself, will probably be exactly like you (probably in a worse state tbh lmao) if/when Junjin announces his marriage, and I know other members’ fans will feel the same when it’s their time too. I feel like we need Dongwan to gather us all together and nag about Shinhwa not being responsible for our lives, because sometimes we forget (sorry oppayam ^^;;).
The fandom seems quite spooked at the moment, fully expecting the sudden influx of the remaining 5 announcing their own marriages. The only advice I can give is that we, the fans, need to stick together. The one thing we seem to need as much as Shinhwa is each other. (*insert We’re All in This Together - High School Musical OST* lol sorry the was cheesy) I know the fact they’re getting married is scary and a little bittersweet, but we need to keep supporting them.
This isn’t the end, but a new beginning.
♡ ❤ ♡ 신화 화이팅! 신화창조 화이팅! ♡ ❤ ♡
quick song rec; IU - Heart
The song lyrics seem to fit quite well for an idol-fan relationship, and I was reminded of it after the announcement came out. So I’d like to dedicate it to my fellow Shinhwa Changjo’s out there. You are not alone, everyone’s feeling at least a little uneasy right now. Let’s put on a smile and support Shinhwa til the end~!
When Oppayam gets married, he will still be MY Oppayam. I don’t care that he’ll have a wife. I am still going to call him mine.
