My Doll Shelves
I’ve been itching to share my collection display, so here it is! I’ve been working on it for a couple of years now. Most of my dolls are from bargain stores or bought second hand. I have a couple exceptions of course.
I do some light alterations or restyles to my dolls if I feel like it. Catty was my most extensive in terms of painting. I touched up her face and painted her boots, sunglasses and belt. It’s not perfect but I’m really happy with how she turned out.
The zombaes and the pixlings have been the most fun to collect. Both lines seem to be discontinued, and I understand why. One has a gacha gimmick (though there are codes to get around that) and the pixlings have an awful amount of hard plastic packaging. I’ve been finding ways to reuse the potion bottles, and I try to find as many as I can second hand. But even still, the bottles add up quick.
But I find a lot of fun and charm in these otherwise overlooked dolls. I even picked up an “off the hook” doll I stumbled across in the wild. I’m not the biggest fan of this line, but there’s a creativity too it that I can’t help but find charming.
That’s all for now! I’ll need to redo my setup in a few months because I’ll be moving, so I may post about that then. Thanks for stopping by!
Tama Log #2
I’ve been running my uni, paradise, and connection!
I currently have an energetic woopatchi on my uni! I love her to bits but I may marry her off soon. I’ve been playing Tamagotchi Plaza a good bit and I’ve fallen in love with so many characters that I hadn’t seen before!
I also achieved two of my smaller goals for my punirunes and my tamagotchi paradise. I finally got Nyarurun (who I’ve been trying to get since I got the device)! I was also able to achieve a darker purple color for my batchi! It was a headache and I went through so many vivid potions, but it was so worth it! They look so cute!
Also big collection update! I received a punirunes punistal for Christmas! I’m so happy with it and I’m going to hunt down a case for it asap! I tried crocheting a case for it but the yarn was super slippery on the plastic, and i figured a silicone case is probably the best way to go for protection.
There’s a feature where you can ring a bell to summon other punirunes to visit yours! Since I usually play with the sound off, I attached a bell so I could still “ring” it!
I have some tamagotchi mail on the way, so I’m probably gonna do another Tama log then! See you soon!
The Updated Furby Shelf!

Tama Log #1 (Idk if I’ll do more of these)
I ran 4 tamas and a punirunes over the past couple weeks, it’ll probably be one of the only times I’ll be able to juggle that.
I’ve been using the punirunes case I crocheted as a little nest to carry around the tamas so I can hear them chirp wherever I am in the apartment.
So far I’m loving the uni, I think it’s the ideal tama experience for me. I love the paradise but I feel like the tamas have a bit less personality, like animal crossing villagers in new horizons. I have been enjoying the gene mixing feature a lot though.
I’m liking the connection I picked up a lot as well! I think the idle animations and the tama’s ability to use items on their own really sells it for me. It truly feels like I’m carrying around a Little Guy in an Egg.
I started to really get into decorating the shells and making charms for them!
(I hid little cats behind the paradise case)
I stuffed her
I took out the screws on the bottom half of her torso to access the seam of the fur, and just added some spare stuffing into a little gap I formed at the bottom. Be warned about this method though: I scraped my knuckle to shreds on the plastic. Didn’t notice till after I was done lmao.
Here’s her new long fluffy form!
I noticed that the fabric tube of her body isn’t even. There’s a bit of a loose section in the center, with her back legs being slightly smaller than her front section. It forms a very faint cone effect. Still, with some maneuvering, it really isn’t noticeable.
Since I was able to pop the seam and screws in back relatively easily, I’d say this is a pretty reversible change! I was worried I’d have to go at her belly with a seam ripper, and I’m not the best at hand sewing this faux-fur fabric. I think I may wanna customize her further. Maybe repaint her eyes or something.
Let me know if any of y’all try this! Mind your knuckles!!
I present: the Lady Toob of Frosting
I think in the future I’m going to preform surgery and add more fluff to her so she can be plush when in her Long form. But for now she reminds me of a stumpy legged cat, and I kinda like that for her.
So I filled up the rest of that sketchbook page…
Family photos!!! I’ve been having so much fun with these. It’s really given me a good casual distraction during this stressful time of year.
While I’m having a bit of a vpet phase, I don’t think I’m going to collect them the way I do furbies or dolls. Since they’re more akin to video games, I don’t see any merits for myself in having more than a handful. I do want to get an uni at some point tho.
I saw Punirunes at 5 below and got really intrigued. I had a tamagotchi music star as a kid and I had a bit of an obsession with virtual pets and robot pets. I ended up going home, looking it up, falling in love, and getting it.
While I’m super excited that they’re now cheap, I am a little sad because that probably indicates that other punirunes devices won’t be getting a US release. But oh well.
Anyway, here’s a bunch of photos!
I crocheted the case myself! I can’t believe I haven’t crocheted anything for my furbies yet, but my main furby phase and my crochet phase haven’t really intersected until now. Perhaps that’ll be a future project.
She has a name!
I present: Kandi Kidzblop
Also my gf wanted a furblet so we could match, now we have 2 of these tiny freaks.
Genuinely I wanna know what long time long furby fans think of the new DJ Furby toy and the brand basically acknowledging long furbies with it.
Do you like it? Hate it? Why? I'm really curious as an outsider looking in.
(I love furbies but I'm not massively in the fandom but one day I'd love to have my own long furby)
I’ve made my own long furby, and there is something beautiful in how each long furby is unique. However, I do like the official toy. I think it was a fun way to revamp the furby design with a special edition that feels more thought out than other special editions (like furbacca and the party rockers, those I found quite boring).
I see it as a neat “it’s come full circle” thing. Furbies are a kids toy that a group of us got really into as adults, and made those toys into personalized pieces of art. Now that art has in turn inspired a new design for the maker of the toy. And we gotta remember that it’s a toy for kids to actually play with, which most handmade long furbies really aren’t.
I will say, I think it’s overpriced. 70 bucks is insane. Capitalism and corporations ruin everything etc etc. But overall, I’m not too mad about the toy itself.
Edit: I almost forgot: the oddbody Magic the Gathering cards feel much more like a genuine acknowledgment to the furby community. I think it’s because of that acknowledgment of the adult fans that I feel much less put off by them selling a long furby.
So… I may have gotten a new furby for the first time in years. I saw them at Ross and couldn’t resist. It feels good to be back.
Gotta figure out a name for the big girl, the little one is named Em-Oh (I combed her hair into a fringe when I got her lmao).
