I can't go back to yesterday, because I was a different person then

Some change is experienced over long periods of time-- seasons, years add lines to our faces and a thicker resilience to our skin. I imagine when we first met, I was practically translucent. Soft, and unafraid, you could see right through me. Lately, I notice the little, daily transformations.

Some days I am better, for some I am the same. The same, selfish and childish infant. Some days I still love my life, some days I still love you. Some changes happen even quicker -- I miss you and wish you were mine for an afternoon, in the morning I am relieved to be alone.

I am not transparent anymore, it is not obvious how I feel because I do not know. How could I promise you today yesterday when I don't know what tomorrow will bring? You sit in front of me and ask me what I'm thinking,

There are a million things I want to do with you, and a million things I want to do alone.
