        she’s watching him very closely - she’s always done fairly well when it comes to reading her brother, she doesn’t have to take a look into his mind to know what he is thinking. his expression says it all, his eyes and the set of his mouth. they’re alike in that regard, the two of them hold so much on their shoulders and it shows. tempted to comfort him, but trying her very best to stay stern in a situation like this. jason has always needed some type of guidance when it comes to his resolve, whether it be money or women or other important decisions. 

         the crease between her brows relaxes once he reassures her, most of her weight still leaning across the table, ears perked and expression open. sookie cannot help herself, she blinks several times in his direction. profuse curiosity comes next, tilting her head at him as if he’s a puzzle she’s having trouble figuring out.    ❛    flowers?    ❜     amused smile twists at her lips, she’s definitely more than interested now.    ❛     i don’t mean t’laugh or nothin’, jason. but … you aren’t really the flower type.     ❜

Emma says nothing of it though, it does seem out of place for someone in his uniform not drinking, with her impression of this town. A small shrug. At his uestion, Emma has to think of a response. Technically she is, though she might not be there full time. She decides on a shrug.   “Well, I guess - yeah? Obviously most of my work is out of town, though, so. Home from home, I guess.”
