Many insects love cosplay. It's not the orc costume that is the most popular among them. What's better than a wasp costume to forage peacefully while pretending to be a bad guy? (Trichius gallicus on Cirsium - Lisses, France)
Green rose chafer on Meadowsweet

In our garden the color of the day is red. The red cardinal, Pyrochroa serraticornis, a pretty scarlet beetle, paid us a little visit. Its scientific name serraticornis (from the Latin word "serra" meaning a saw) refers to the particular shape of the articles of its antennae which look like sawteeth.
The heary footman, Eilema, attracted to the UV lamp yesterday night. Its caterpillar loves lichens: there is something for everyone in the garden!
A rose-ringed parakeet (Psittacula krameri) in the garden

They are absolutely remarkable animals and I am amazed by their hunting techniques, the care that some take for the young, their amorous displays and by many other aspects of their ecology or their biology, in my opinion, spiders are objectively fascinating animals and I can talk about them for hours…" From Valérie Chansigaud - The French and Nature Why so little Love? - Acts Sud 2017.
I don't know if trans-species empathy is reciprocal for this beautiful Zoropsis spinimana that lives in the mess of our lean-to! In any case, this is a book that starts well.
A violet oil beetle feeding on a Pulsatilla flower. The Meloe look really strange with their jackets much too short to cover their abdomen
Clerus muttillarius A beetle quite good mimic of Mutillidae wasps
