As she sat down on the cold stone floor, teal eyes gazed at the alter before her with a somber expression. It had been quite a long time since she’d last returned to her “home,” and it was far from a joyful one at that. Almost all the time Aqua spent here had been in slumber or as a core. It had been quite some time since she’d last remained for an extended period while in her “awoken” form. Though as she considered all that happened, part of her wished she were the former. At least as a core it was easier to push loneliness away.

With a small sigh, she looked down to the small creature, a Polwiggle, sitting her her lap and offered a weak smile. The tiny water monsters had been her only company as of late, and while she’d never imagined herself being upset with the quiet, after having spent so much time out travelling, the sudden lack of contact with others and the world outside was… depressing. Of course, she could have easily left the temple, but that risked her alter being found - travellers and tourists had suddenly become more frequent as of late - and it had been agreed upon that the Centurions not becoming common knowledge was a wise idea. Most of those who had known about them were dead, and none were eager to advertise their existence to the world.

As she looked around the small grounds of the alter, Aqua’s hand absently ran back and forth over the Polwiggle’s head, earning a soft purr in response. “It’s boring around here, isn’t it, Pontus?” she mumbled, looking down again. A soft “Pii-pii!” was her response, and the aquatic centurion laughed lightly. “I know. We play games a lot, but I feel bad keeping you and the others…” Before she could finish, the sound of rocks shifting against one another followed by echoing foosteps filled the chamber.

Within seconds, Aqua was on her feet, features set in a serious expression as looked toward the entrance. Her fingers twitched in anticipation, ready to call upon the help of as many monsters as she needed to keep the sudden stranger away. She’d never held a grudge against mortals, but it would be a lie to say she felt like hosting as of late. “Who’s there!?” she called out, body tensing. “You’re not welcome here.”

The Centurion knew well enough what jokes and pranks were - it was impossible NOT to know, given how long she'd known Tenebrae and the others - but this didn't make any sense at all. Mortals were so strange...

"Improved...?" Aqua repeated, curiosity melting across her face. What was Richter trying to improve at exactly? Lying...? That didn't make much sense. "Don't humans value honesty? Why would you want to get better at lying, anyway?"

"Liars just make trouble for others - like Tenebonehead. He's the worst kind."

A faint frown appeared upon his face, arms crossing sternly. “Seeing as there is no proof, that’s not possible.”

Blinking, Aqua's curved down in a frown of her own. She was a witness. What proof did he think she didn't have? "But... I've seen you. And you even told me about a few of the dreams. And what about that time I accidentally walked in on you and Aster?"

"That's...!" Aqua's lips pursed in annoyance as she turned away from the stranger to glare at the ground. "That's not the kind of question you ask a lady!"

There was a moment of silence, then... "...yes."
