My first response to this question i was asked the other day was “yeah definitely guys should pay on the first date simple!” Then the question popped into my head but why should guys pay on the first date? (My mind questions everything btw) The answer I came up with after some thought was that a man must be able to show he has the ability or potential to keep his partner secure and safe. Even though paying for a meal on the first date seems small and maybe insignificant to some people. Actions will always speak louder than words! And paying would install some hope that he is able to do what he says. Obviously just that one act couldn’t tell you that he would be able to do this but it’s a good start. What do you think? This image was taken around 8 months ago. I wanted to keep record of the process going through the treatment of cancer. It was my dad and many of my friends around me who encouraged me to keep records of everything I go through. Even other patients who were further through the treatment advised me to do the same thing. One individual in particular who I spoke with on the ward inspired me so much that I still think about him up to this day! He was a retired real estate investor in his 60's who was on the same treatment to me however his stage was much further than mine and the treatment he was on was more to slow down the spread of cancer than to actually get rid of it. Even though he had this condition he was an unbelievably happy individual and very funny he would tell me stories of when he was younger the experiences he had and also his regrets which I felt was a bit deep for me. However we were 2 vulnerable individuals sitting in a hospital in the middle of London away from home for about 6 hours in the same place with chemicals running through our body so I could understand how he felt. Half way through telling his stories he pulled out of his bag 2 massive overly sugary doughnuts looked at me saw the surprise in my face and started laughing. The kind of treatment we were on I would have expected him to pull out fruit or something a bit healthier. Look I had apples, grapes and bananas next to me I wanted to cry lol. After all of his stories and his chemo session finishing up he got up then asked me my name. I forgot that we never introduced ourselves to each other I was just overly fascinated with his stories and he was overly happy to share them with me. The final thing he said to me was "during your treatment and even in life you will experience good days and bad days the key is to take note of the good days and hold onto them during the bad days" that was a small but effective key that I still use today. I learnt much from him that day not just from his words but his life stories. Stories transform lives! That's why I share them and you should too. You have now officially taken over as the turn up individual of any gathering or event. I'm so proud of the amazing woman you are and are growing into. You know how protective I am of you so all them little guys beware even though Nathan is now the more aggressive one lol (had to put that in) I'd still be the one to protect and love you through anything keep growing , achieving big, and learning big. Learn as much as you can to face the challenges you will eventually come up against in life even though we all are uniquely made many of us come up against the same trials and challenges. Learn how to overcome them before you enter them and strive to protect that knowledge for that is what will keep you.
