happy moonwalk day
Does anyone here have experience in being a subsystem? I think the term might apply to me, but I’m not positive, and would appreciate speaking to others to properly understand what the term fully means.
All of us are subsystems, but it’s generally been most prominent with me. In my experience, it shows itself in minor but still noticeable amounts of amnesia (emotional or otherwise) after having been gone for a day or two, or during a switch within the subsystem. It often feels as though, while you are still yourself after a subsystem switch, a couple of your tastes may have changed slightly, or you just feel a step or two “different” in some vague manner. Subsystems are something that I believe many, many systems deal with, but few have recognized in themselves. The more we talk to other systems about the issue, the more alters I see recognizing that in themselves. It seems to almost be a secondary type of system discovery, where it hides itself so well that it feels difficult to unravel.
another heavy handed symbolism moment: my mom has a potted sunflower in the kitchen. because it is a sunflower, it keeps turning towards the light from the window. my mother keeps rotating it so it faces inward because she wants "to see its beautiful petals and have it really brighten up the space!" . the sunflower is visibly wilting .
are you going to tell her or
her masters degree is in biology
A few of us are still figuring out our identities so a couple are different from the original comic strip but yeaj.we have trouble finding labels that suit us so our gender is just idk I’m just me
Also.im going to put this here too because of an ask we got earlier.. don’t speculate on our genders or sexual orientation??? And if you do.please keep it an inside thought ok thank yeww
oh this is a Huge mood
almost all of us are genderqueer in some way, and a lot of us have a complex relationship with pronouns and gendered terms. sharing a brain with each other means that we can understand this so much easier than anyone else could.
it’s also really nice to know the ‘intent’ behind the pronouns we use for each other, if that makes sense? like goose knows that if i use “he/him” for them, it isn’t me calling them a man, but rather just that i spun the wheel of pronouns in our head and that’s what it landed on
there’s a certain connection that headmates share that isn’t really comparable to any other relationship type.. i am them and they are me
100% agree with this. For us, it’s most obvious with alters who use multiple pronouns. With F we know which they may prefer at any time, if we’ve used “she” too much recently, if it wants “it” used today, etc. There’s a couple other specific times where some of us would accept pronouns we don’t normally accept—but only under certain conditions from another alter this can be ok.

Posting this for my soul cat Kenzie (she passed a few years ago but I still think of her every single day) and for everyone else who has lost someone they love. ❤️
"The America I loved still exists, if not in the White House or the Supreme Court or the Senate or the House of Representatives or the media. The America I love still exists at the front desks of our public libraries."
-Kurt Vonnegut, A Man Without a Country

nimble, a border collie-papillon mix, wins the 12” class in the 2024 masters agility championship. the first time a mixed breed has won at westminster ever.
context explaining why the announcer is screaming, this is supposed to take a high level competitive agility dog 40 seconds
This video makes me cry every time it’s on my dash and I can’t even iterate why.
Like the dog doesn’t even know it’s a competition and she’s made history. She(?) just is happy and knows she made her owner happy too.

always a pleasure to see this girl on my dashboard
[id. A twitter post by @/Bennieeexyz Jury duty letter came addressed to my cat. Not a mistake. "Felix Martinez" - that's his full name according to his vet records. My last name. His first name. Somehow he's a registered voter now. Called the county clerk. Me: My cat got summoned for jury duty. Clerk: Is the name correct on the summons? Me: Yes, but he's a cat. Clerk: Is Felix Martinez a legal resident of this county? Me: He's a legal cat. Clerk: Sir, if the name matches our records, he needs to appear or file an exemption. Me: He can't file anything. He has paws. Clerk: You can file on his behalf. Me: Under what exemption? There's no box for "is a cat." Clerk: (pause) Check "unable to serve due to medical reasons." Me: What's the medical reason? Clerk: He's a cat. Me: That's not a medical condition. Clerk: It is if it prevents him from serving. Sent in the form. Got rejected two weeks later. "Insufficient documentation. Please provide medical professional's statement." Took the letter to my vet. Me: I need you to write that my cat can't do jury duty. Vet: Why is your cat summoned for jury duty? Me: Excellent question. No good answer. Vet: This is the weirdest request I've gotten. Me: Can you just write that he's medically unfit to serve? Vet: On what grounds? Me: He's a cat. Vet: (started typing) "Patient is unable to serve due to species-related limitations including inability to speak, read, or comprehend legal proceedings." Me: Perfect. Sent it in. Got another rejection. "Summons is mandatory. Failure to appear will result in contempt of court." My roommate thought this was hilarious. Roommate: Felix is going to jail. Me: This is serious. Roommate: Bring him to court. See what happens. Decided that was actually the only option left. Day of jury duty, put Felix in his carrier. Brought the entire paper trail of rejection letters. Checked in at the courthouse. Clerk: Name? Me: Felix Martinez. Clerk: (looked at the cat carrier) Is that Felix? Me: Yes. Clerk: (long stare) He's a cat. Me: I've been saying that for six weeks. Clerk: Why didn't you file an exemption? Me: I filed three. All rejected. Showed her the letters. She read through them, expression shifting from confusion to disbelief. Clerk: Someone rejected the veterinary documentation? Me: Twice. Clerk: (called her supervisor over) You need to see this. Supervisor read everything. Looked at Felix. Looked at me. Supervisor: How did a cat get registered to vote? Me: You tell me. Supervisor: This is a data error. Me: Took you six weeks to figure that out. They dismissed Felix immediately. Apologized for the inconvenience. Supervisor: We'll remove him from the voter registry. Me: Appreciate it. Supervisor: (pause) Out of curiosity, how would he have voted? Me: Probably whatever party supports universal treats. Got a formal apology letter a week later and a voter registration card. For me this time. Apparently I wasn't registered, but my cat was. Roommate: Felix committed voter fraud. Me: Felix committed nothing. He's innocent. Roommate: That's what they all say. Felix is sleeping on the jury summons now. Fitting end to his legal career. end id]

The dude in bright orange with the orange umbrella that looks like a peacocks tail.... FAVE
Something by I love about Black Menswear is how they’re not afraid of color and personality. It’s not just the same boring black or blue suit jacket every time. It’s also just very dapper.
YESSS i especially love the florals...
