Wherever the Empire or First Order spread their nefarious reaches across the galaxy, you can be sure of one thing: TIE Fighters, lots and lots of TIE Fighters. The name, of course, is an acronym for "twin ion engines."
Kylo Ren (also known as Ben Solo) had the good fortune to be the son of Han Solo and the nephew of Luke Skywalker. Not only was Kylo strong with the Force, he also inherited his father and uncle’s excellent piloting skills. After joining up with the First Order, Ren served as a test pilot for an all-new type of starfighter, the TIE silencer.
Looking to previous TIE iterations for inspiration, the silencer (aka the “TIE vendetta space superiority fighter” or simply the “TIE/vn”) does have deflector shields and a hyperdrive. It also excels in the categories of “energy conversion, power storage, and experimental stealth gear.” Kylo’s feedback after the prototype test flight proved invaluable to the technicians at Raith’s company, which had, after so many years, evolved into Sienar-Jaemus Fleet Systems…
The Star Wars: TIE Fighter: Owners’ Workshop Manual goes on sale Tuesday, May 28. You can pre-order a copy right here. Deflector shields and hyperdrive sold separately.

Kylo Ren 2018 Topps Finest Star Wars Blue Refractor
A tragic, conflicted figure, Kylo Ren was the son of Han Solo and Leia Organa. Originally named Ben, he was seduced by the dark side of the Force and wound up becoming the First Order's key enforcer, and Supreme Leader Snoke's shining young protege. After an ill-fated apprenticeship with Luke Skywalker, Kylo turned on those who cared about him and used his considerable powers to destroy most of his mother's Resistance movement and the remnants of the Jedi Order.
A commission done for the hella talented @pacificwanderer . It’s for her fic (that I binged in literally one night) Steady As We Burn . This scene is also just RLY hot along with the rest of the fic lmao
The Kylo Ren joke that had to be changed for Ralph Breaks the Internet
As directors Rich Moore and Phil Johnston and head of story Josie Trinidad explain it, Disney declined to run with a certain Kylo Ren gag.
“At one point we had a joke about Kylo Ren being kind of a spoiled child,” laughs Moore. “We went to Lucasfilm and said, here’s what we’re doing. And they said, well, we’d prefer that you don’t show him as a spoiled child. You know, he is our villain, and we’d prefer you don’t do that. So we were respectful of that.”
“You hardly find me repulsive, little desert rat,” he said with honey on his tongue, a term that used to once make her blood boil but that she now acknowledged as a warped version of an endearment from Kylo Ren. “Or need I remind you of Takodana?”
They had shared their first kiss on Takodana, in a forest very similar to the one in which he’d once taken her captive. Rey shifted weakly, trying to put some distance between their naked bodies.
“That was a mistake,” she replied.
“Really?” he asked, his chuckle only prolonging itself as he splayed the long fingers resting on her abdomen, pulling her closer against the proof of her irritating twitching, hard against her lower back. “Was Coruscant a mistake, too?”

Chapter preview:
MORABAND.
Come out, Ren, she said.
A moment of silence.
So, he started, and the wave of relief she felt to finally hear him was indescribable. It was soon replaced with annoyance. I see you’ve once again followed. What do you want this time? I thought you made it clear our last encounter you wanted me to leave you alone. Why are you here?
Rey narrowed her eyes. Yes, why was she here? Just because Leia kept handing her coordinates she magically produced from somewhere didn’t mean Rey had to be the one to follow them every time. She stalled, then slowly came to a stop. Kylo chuckled.
So now you decide to talk to me? Okay, so she sounded sullen. So what?
Upset?
Gods she was going to beat his ass and enjoy it so, so much.
A little troublesome, a little terrible - Chapter 2
Summary:
Kylo thinks the weight of the Finalizer is shifted by her presence, as if everything on it, including him, is tilted and out of balance. He feels so aware and very much awake.
So he gets up and trains.
His knights are wary of him when he’s like this. Not yet near explosion, channeling his energy into precise, vicious slays.
There’s a highway between his heart and his saberhand and everything that’s been bottled up runs there unobstructed.
He wishes he could pray. To whom and how, he doesn’t know. But there are no deities in his world, only the Force. And the Force doesn’t seem to be with him today.
“Killing his father on Starkiller Base should have been the last step in becoming a dark lord, but then Kylo Ren let a young scavenger, a nobody, defeat and wound him in single combat. A disappointment his master Snoke cannot forgive, the source of Ren’s frustration and rage, and, maybe, the proof that there’s still good in him.” —Star Wars: The Last Jedi Graphic Novel Adaptation by Alessandro Ferrari

The way they’ve been shooting it right now is looser than it’s been for the last two times. [...clarifying that Abrams has been allowing more improvisation on the set.] It does feel like a relief to get on set and feel like, ‘Oh, we can try things.’ It’s a testament to J.J. coming back and feeling confident. There’s less pressure for it to be right. We just want to make a good movie and have a really good time while doing it. [He joked that the improvisatory quality of the production was like “Cassavetes in space,” but said it came naturally to the production.] Often, you do feel like you’ve got to find your way to make something more alive, but this time, it’s been the opposite. There’s no need to smuggle anything in there.
Oscar Isaac on how JJ Abrams is directing Episode IX
The actor took a break from shooting "Star Wars" to promote his role in "At Eternity's Gate," but he's looking forward to an extended vacation.
Now, Isaac’s back in “Star Wars” mode, shooting the ninth installment of the trilogy in between breaks to promote his other projects. When production on the J.J. Abrams–directed entry wraps, however, he plans to take the year off. Isaac recently provided voicework for the upcoming animated “The Addams Family” and starred in J.C. Chandor’s Netflix-produced drug war drama “Triple Frontier” opposite Ben Affleck, but his 2019 plans are wide open. “I haven’t really stopped for 10 years,” he said. “I’m just going to be with family and taking a bit of a rest.”
But he doesn’t sound too worn-down by his work on the latest production. “The way they’ve been shooting it right now is looser than it’s been for the last two times,” he said, clarifying that Abrams has been allowing more improvisation on the set. “It does feel like a relief to get on set and feel like, ‘Oh, we can try things.’ It’s a testament to J.J. coming back and feeling confident. There’s less pressure for it to be right. We just want to make a good movie and have a really good time while doing it.”
He joked that the improvisatory quality of the production was like “Cassavetes in space,” but said it came naturally to the production. “Often, you do feel like you’ve got to find your way to make something more alive, but this time, it’s been the opposite,” he said. “There’s no need to smuggle anything in there.”
He shrugged off the backlash to the previous installment. “Luckily, since I’m not directing it, producing it, or distributing it, I don’t have to worry so much about fan expectations,” he said. “Also, not all fans have the same expectations.” He compared the response to “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” to the negativity that met George Lucas’ prequels. “People had very strong feelings, but there wasn’t as much of an organized way to speak out about it,” he said. “People that run blogs and websites need content. So it’s like, ‘There’s some content!’ Five people on Twitter. Hundreds. Whatever it is. Then you make it into a story.”
But he has learned to cope with the possibility that not every project will please the masses. “You make a movie and people are supposed to like, or not like it, or not care about it,” he said. “Those are the only three options. So it’s not shocking that one of those things happened.”
