Summary: In this AU, Clover decides to not give up his soul for the Monsters. Why should he? They plan to use its power to wage a war of extinction against humanity. He also still has a mission to complete. Together with his friends, they convert the Wild East into what will soon be known as The Sanctuary, and declare any human within their borders under their protection.

I'm Satisfied

I've been meaning to write this for a while, but I kept putting it off. Anyway, here it is.

When I first started this AU, it was out of frustration.

I was frustrated that Monsters never faced any consequence for murdering children, planning the extinction of humanity, and celebrating all of it. I was frustrated because of how easily Clover sacrificed his soul for a cause that would doom his people. I was frustrated because in all of the 'Clover Lives' AUs that I had seen, Clover just forgets about his mission.

Desert Sanctuary was meant to be an answer to these frustrations. A story that highlighted the tragedy of the Fallen Human and explored the consequences of their murder.

I believe that I have accomplished that goal.

I am proud and satisfied with where this story has gone, and I am ready to move on.

As many of you have probably noticed, updates for the Guidebook have slowed down at Textboxes and Memes on Reddit and Tumblr have all but stopped. This AU means a lot to me and always will, but I am ready to move on from it. I have countless stories that I wish to tell, not all of them about Undertale.

I will still be active on Tumblr, answering Asks and maybe making original posts as well.

I might even update the Guidebook if I feel it's necessary.

Thank you to everyone who took an interest in my AU, but for now, that will be all.

You know that Echo Flower, that has Integrity's Words in it: "I can't run any longer... Somebody... Anybody..."

How would DS Clover react to those words?

What if DS Clover recorded the words and made tons of copies? (In case, some Monsters try destroying them!)

What if Clover showed the recording to Martlet, Starlo, Ceroba and Dalv?

What if Clover showed the recording to Asgore, Undyne, Alphys, Mettaton, Papyrus, Sans and the Royal Guard?... As proof that Integrity is a scared, confused kid only defending herself, and wanting to go home... How would all the Monsters react? 😰

I mean, Clover would have to first find the Echo Flower without accidentally overwriting it. Not sure how feasible that is.

Secondly, I don't think he'd be willing to weaponise Integrity's last words. He'd probably want to keep it private.

And even if he did show it, there'd be no way to verify it, so a bunch of people would deny its validity anyway.

Desert Sanctuary Clover (Walk Cycle)

I am really happy with my progress so far. With the design finished on all 4 sides, I plan to start working on more specific poses (firing a gun, interacting with stuff, etc.).

After that, I will attempt to make the Talk Sprites.

Since DS Clover is the Monster Ambassador, Asgore is thrown in prison and Jessica's Dead Daughter was the Integrity Ballerina...

Would Clover view Jessica, as a human version of Undyne/Asgore?

I'm guessing it was inspired by the Absolute DC universe and it's thing about removing one important thing to a character.

Is Chara being Asgore's Adopted Human Child, ever brought up during the Peace Meetings?

Like Clover says something like: "How can you Monsters be so eager, about going to war with the same species, that's your King's Adopted Child?"

Or is talking about Chara and Asriel off-limits, during the meetings? 😅

I mean, it would happen eventually, but it's a can of worms that I don't feel like opening.
