So today, June 13th, is my 25th birthday (HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME)! And in less than two months, my first blog anniversary will come around!!

SO I decided to surprise everyone with another (much smaller) giveaway to run alongside my 5k followers one, from my birthday to my blogiversary in August, in an effort to give even a small token of thanks to all of you for making my days so special. :D 

The prize in question is one (1) book under $20 USD from the Book Depository! Or MAYBE EVEN TWO if the total is still under $20!

Don’t read or buy books you have no interest in simply because you think it will impress others. Reading is supposed to be fun, not stressful.

Don’t turn your nose up at people who have different reading tastes; or at those who prefer e-books to physical ones or paperbacks to hardbacks.

Read what you want, when you want, and how you want.

This scene will forever be the most important scene in any movie to me.  This is a little girl who has been told all her life by her parents that she is a mistake and that she is worthless.  This is a little girl whose family life is so horrible that books are her only escape.  This is a little girl whose parents constantly belittle her for reading, the only pleasure in life she has.  And in this scene, this little girl answers very shyly, because she has been conditioned to be embarrassed of her own existence.  At first, she answers slowly, and without making eye contact. And in this scene this little girl is beginning to realize that maybe she is special.  Maybe there are kind people in the world.  Maybe she is worth something.

My grandfather had Alzheimers and i took care of him for over 5 years. While my grandma was alive and living with us he would always ask for her. She seemed to be the only person he remembered and he was always so much happier and calmer with her by his side.

Rereading my old journals and diaries is almost an essential part of my life. I would make sure to be detailed with mg feelings so i could learn from every mistake, remember every memory that should not be forgotten and move on from all my mistakes. My journal is a part of me.. all of me. It was written from the deepest part of my soul that is hidden away from the likes of others.

This is our favorite description of Stargirl:

A children’s and YA classic, Stargirl is colorful and magical. Spinelli crafts a story on the perils of popularity and the experience of first love during high school. Don’t be fooled by the cover of the book or the nature of plot. Stargirl is one of those magical few books, which carves itself into your heart.
