i love the idea of wings being a huuge emotion indicator, but humans cant see them so gabriel and castiel dont even knowā but sams wings are often in some way reacting to the things around himā and, unfortunately, that includes the humans they are so very fond ofšš dean knows, though, and he WILL be mocking sam for it, even if his do the same only more subtly
anyways, aside from sabrielposting, i do have other stuff to actually rant about HOORAY! šš
i have been struggling a lot with ideas of after the apocalypse prevention as well as gabe cas childhood, but i think i have ideas that i want to work with
in terms of childhood dynamics, gabriel was not as involved as he could have been with castiel
ā to compare, i think they saw chuck even less than sam and dean saw john in canon, because he also needs to have some sort of relationship with michael and lucifer as well, meaning he was splitting his time among several sonsā michael gaining the most of chucks positive attention until he disappears
michael and lucifer ill talk about in a different post when i start drawing them more šš (and by association, adam, and some ofbthe other angels that are important)
but as kids, gabriel and castiel had a more strained relationship because gabriel was very bitter about being left in the situation they were, so while he loved castiel and still met his basic needs he also spent a lot of time out of the motels trying to separate himself from that responsibility.
this eventually led him to leaving castiel altogether when cas was old enough to manage on his own, and then following into our storyline of castiel tracking down gabriel to help him and so on and so forth
so a lot of their real bonding comes in the later years because of thisšš especially from gabriels end.
as for later plots after stopping the apocalypse, i only have concepts so i cant really elaborate muchā¦ but imagine me with a big thought bubble over my head at all times while i figure out how to explain it

i want him to play a big role in the stability of heaven, considered a huge asset to them as gods favored soldier (in the way that heās incredibly well trained and loyal, and was held to high standards by god and now by the angels as well)
this makes it so much more of a priority for heaven to get rid of him after he and sam get attached to gabriel and castiel, because if hes fighting against them it would be a bigger issue than if it were any other, weaker angel.
also, a note for him and sam turning on heaven like this, it is what drives THEIR codependency even more, the angels work better in groups, as if they were pack animals. dean and sam go from having hundreds and hundreds of siblings and bonds to only one another as angelsā like, yes, they were super close in heaven already, but they get even more insanely close after
ive been getting less hours at work lately, which means i have more time to doodle and ponder, so ermmmm bless my life
