After many dark days of fighting, the rebellions hope and indeed that of all free peoples across the know galaxy hangs by a mere thread. Can the tattered remains of the resistance repair and regroup? Or is it already too late...

The Battle For The East Side.

It is a dark time for the Rebellion. Although the Death Star has been destroyed, Imperial troops have driven the Rebel forces from their hidden base and pursued them across the galaxy.

Evading the dreaded Imperial fleet, a group of freedom fighters led by Luke Skywalker has established a new secret base in the city of Belfast...

Los Angeles-based designer and sculptor Amanda Visell has created an incredible series of wooden Star Wars action figures. Each Star Wars character comes complete with a uniquely designed wooden product package. I have been playing around recently with some designs for a wooden robot so these particularly caught my eye.

Red Onion Tarte Tatin with Goat's Cheese

My take on this recipe for shallot tarte tatin. I went for red onions as they are something I always have in the house and shallots are something I would have to buy aspecially. Think it would work just as well with either. Might try this again with some beetroot. Would be nice served up with a little peppery rocket just to balance out the sweetness. Was also thinking some smoked mackerel might add a nice smokey element if I do it with the beetroot.

I have been playing around with a logo sort of things for my new film night called 23flicks.  Its the first time doing something like this and I'm very happy with the results. Separate elements created in Illustrator and then finished off in Photoshop. In the process of turning it into an animated gif.

Oven Baked Herby Mushrooms & Warm Smoked Mackerel with Pickled Courgette

I seem to be in a food photographing mood these past few days. Not that it's a bad thing, especially when I get to eat it all when I'm done! I recomend trying the mackerel recipe as its perticulaly tasty. Also baking the mushrooms was a good discovery as it really brings out their flavour. Will have to try it again in the Autumn with a selection of wild mushrooms.

Crushed broad bean & mint bruschetta

Mmmmm tasty good. First time cooking with broad beans and made this lovely bruschetta. I didn't have any parmesan cheese as the recipe intended, but thought it was most likely there for the salty element, so added some bacon, which tasted good.
