They get their own seat, right on the floor of the cable car, for now. The bags are set down gently enough, and he turns back to Emily, his hand pressed against the sliding door of the cable car, holding it open, hand out stretched for her.
“Ta-da!”
It’s gentlemanly enough for now, but he’s a little impatient. Not that he’d admit to it, if the jacket weren’t the right thing to brave the cold, his best bet for warmth before the cabin was this cable car.

“So. Throw it as hard and as far as you can...” He’s not even the one holding the ball, yet with his albeit vague instructions, he follows the motions through himself, winding it up, and stepping forward, and then releasing. That was how he was taught, with a lot more whoops and pep, but hey... Next best thing.
Next thing he does, pinching the ends of his jersey, is grin-- cocky. “Won’t even let it touch the ground.”

{ ♚ } – After hours and hours of questioning, Emily was finally let out of her interrogation room. She was tired, bandaged, frazzled… she just wanted to be home.
She walked through the police station, her body there but her mind wandering somewhere outside of it. She felt like she should be thinking about a lot of things, feeling a lot of emotions… but she felt nothing. She just felt empty.
As she passed by a row of metal chairs, her eyes caught the sight of a familiar blue. Matt. He was there. He was okay.
She just stands there, not really sure of how to react to anything anymore. Sleep. She needed sleep. “…Matt. Oh god Matt…” What should she even say? Where should she start?
He’s just happy to know she’s alive. It made some of the interrogation and night worth it, and despite how tired he was, he pushed up and off his chair, to greet her properly. He’s left with a lot on his mind, but he doesn’t know how to connect it. If the madman was caught, if the others were safe-- what the hell were those things? He didn’t know. He didn’t.
“Emily...” It was a lot nicer to not have to scream her name, quieter-- he barely even looks at her, only looking at the stained makeup around her eyes. The bandages were no different from his, anyways, it wasn’t like they were any different. His first thought was to apologize, for the fire, but he instead tries to be concerned.
“What happened to you?”
lowkey pelvic thrusts out a starter call.
