Olsson Barbieri’s motion graphics for an organic orchard in Hardanger, on the west coast of Norway, really caught my attention. In their explanation, Olsson describes how the orchard is known for producing apple cider and honey. What stood out to me was their creative use ofmotion, manipulating elements in the poster to move like a swarm of bees, working in harmonyand moving as one. I thought this concept was incorporated very effectively, both visually andconceptually, as it reflected the natural processes of the orchard. They also included Norwegianwords in their design, which I found particularly inspiring. This use of native language resonatedwith my own project, where I aimed to highlight the Māori name of my place. It encouraged me to consider how language and motion can work together to strengthen the cultural and emotional impact of a design.
