my family used to have this sort of abstract watercolour painting up in our dining room, it was there as early as i can remember, and i always hated it. one day when i was like ten my mom came up to me, and i guess handed me something but i dont remember what, and she was like “can you put this on the shelf, by the bird painting?”

and i was like “..the what?”

and she was like “the painting of the bird on the branch. can you put it there” and she pointed to the abstract painting

and i was like “how is that a bird”

and she said “well what do you think it is?”

and was like “it’s a beached whale with a giant eye, blowing blood out of its blow hole onto the legs of a guy who’s running away”

..and i guess my mom thought that was like funny or weird or something so she told my dad about it, and he immediately said “oh, you mean the reindeer painting?”

The writer who made Dick and Kory kiss in the recent Titans issue confirmed that Editorial controls everything and they are the ones who decide whether Dickkory should be together or not.

I previously shared a theory about why the writer chose to include that kiss and then, sure enough, he did an AMA. Someone asked him about DickKory and his response kinda confirmed my theory

So yeah, this pretty much confirms it, the reason DickKory hasn’t been a couple for the past 30 years, and why they’ve rarely interacted, is because of editorial decisions. It’s not because Kory “doesn’t work” as a love interest in Dick’s solo stories, not because he loves Barbara more, and not because they’ve outgrown each other or any of those other BS excuses.

At the end of the day, it all comes down to editorial decisions and DC politics. (And their xenophobia towards Kory and women outside of Gotham and the Batfamily 🙄)

This also confirms that there are writers at DC who genuinely want to bring DickKory back. Similar to what happened with Tate, he clearly wanted to write them as a proper romantic pairing without unnecessary drama or undermining but couldn’t because of the restrictions he had to follow.

As we know, Dick is under the control of the Bat-editorial while Kory falls under Titans editorial.

The Bat-editorial doesn’t want Dick with Kory, they prefer him with Barbara. So what most likely happens behind the scenes is that the Bat-editorial instructs the Titans creative team to make sure Dick and Kory aren’t written as a couple, and the Titans team has to follow that direction.

One thing about the dsmp is that I cannot blame fan artists and fic writers at all for deleting their fan works after all the stuff came out about many of the ccs, but at the same time it makes me a little sad with how it’s only been 4-5 years and so many of the fanworks are just gone. It feels like the internet is forever and, in some ways it is, but it also really isn’t

A little comment that says "I spent five hours researching vintage radio mechanics for this and didn't even end up using it" or "this is an ancient Hebrew literary technique!" would make my day

You can actually code in superscripts that jump to notes at the end of your fic and it’s not hard at all

I do it all the time in my fics because I do a lot of research and like to add little notes/extra info for people who care or don’t know what somthing is
