This is very much in like with most fanfiction where the two cuddle and Cas lays his hand on the hand on the mark his grace burned

but it’s still not supportive enough to be lifting a grown man.

So look at this

Cas didn’t grab Dean out of hell by his shoulder, he held him close against his chest with one arm while the other hand wielded his angel blade and fought off demons in order to save him from hell

Cas said he gripped you hard a raised you from perdition, and you know what that means?

this wasn’t the first time Cas had done this. Dean had already become dark-souled almost-demon when he brought him from hell, right? So that’s why the ANGEL HUG I LOVE YOU thing worked

tl;dr: stop saying Cas grabbed Dean up by his shoulder and dragged him out of hel - He actually clutched him to his chest and lifted him out in his arms.

I’m sorry I’m just never going to get over how powerful Jensen’s microexpressions are in this scene. Just look closely at this. Dean is trying so hard to keep up this mask, to pretend that what Cas is saying about an eternity with the Mark means nothing to him. And he’s doing a good job too, he’s got the dead eyes going on, he’s unresponsive. But then, the moment when Cas lets it slip that he plans to be there, to be next to Dean for centuries until the Mark eventually consumes him…that’s the moment when Dean slips. You seem him swallow hard like he’s got a lump in his throat, his eyes dance away from Cas’s like he can’t even look at the angel who is so willing to promise him forever. I honestly didn’t think that a few short seconds of film could be my undoing but everyone is wrong sometimes…

Can I just say that the SPN Finale would have been 100000% better if Lucifer had just stepped out of that cloud of darkness with his arms outstretched, inhaled super dramatically and said, “It’s good to be back,” with a huge smirk on his face????
