tl;dr takeaways from smeyer’s 9/11 q&a
First of all? Smeyer is blonde now. She’s a bleach blonde. After ALL these years of furthering the anti-blonde agenda. What a sick masochistic lion
On the Midnight Sun animated series: Two pieces of concept art were revealed. The show itself will be out “before 2030 for sure.” (This was said somewhat jokingly; basically she doesn't know the timeline.) Smeyer has been in the writers' room in LA all year and had lots of creative input. The blood typing scene will be included. Peter will appear in the show, and we will get to see how Alice’s visions look to her and how Jasper’s powers look to him when he’s using them. James will appear a lot, more than he appears in the actual book. "We have a lot of cool surprises" including "new stuff" and "diabolical" stuff.
The Twilight graphic novels WILL be continuing. She doesn’t know when they will be done, but “it’s being worked on” and she’s reviewed drawings and scripts.
Stephenie Meyer has a “non-Twilight book” going through a “last personal edit.” It’s “real weird,” and she “[apologizes] in advance.” It is sci-fi.
She did not tease any other sequels or new content—she confirmed talks for a possible The Chemist TV adaptation haven’t gone anywhere, and that she has not written a sequel for The Host, though she has plotted one out.
There was discussion of the two 20th anniversary special edition Twilight books, one of which includes work by fanartists. The box set will include Life and Death.
When asked, “Will Leah be able to find love with a vampire or a werewolf?” she refused to answer directly, and then answered that Leah is gonna find "something." Not necessarily love, but something. “A course in life.”
When asked if any other supernatural creatures exist in the Twilight universe: she “wouldn’t be opposed to a ghost.” She had a conversation with her best friend about “What if Jessica Stanley’s mom was the head of a coven of witches?” “If there is a witch, it starts with her, Mrs. Stanley. Jessica doesn’t know but Angela’s in on it.”

For her first Halloween with the Cullens, Bella really doesn’t put up a fight over Alice dressing her up so long as she keeps the costume comfortable and it’s nothing too flashy. She actually likes Halloween.
When the day comes, she eyes the long slinky black dress with trepidation. It does not look comfortable, and she’s sure there’s going to be a glam’d-out makeover to go with it.
She’s about to protest when Edward slips into the room in a black suit and eyeliner, gently takes her hand to plant a gentle kiss on it, and calls her “Cara mia” with a look of utter adoration.
The dress turns out to be pretty comfortable, and considering how pale she is already, the makeup is minimal.
picturing edward with a drawn on moustache killed me so i had to doodle it hgkjfdgfk

It is not a question of “did Bella ever have a wet dream while Edward was in her room?”, but “once Edward realized what was happening, how much damage did he do to her bedroom window as he scrambled out?”
Where I am from, it's the way one says 'I love you.'

The introduction of the Volturi is one of the funniest things smeyer did. So far the story has been contained to a sleepy little town (with a climactic road trip to… Arizona! wow!), and the biggest threat has been Some Guys who happened to come across them
Then Bella and Edward are chatting in the beginning of New Moon and Edward’s like “oh yeah btw there’s this secret royal vampire mafia army with the most terrifying and powerful extra abilities across the ocean. They police the world’s vampire population. I’ll probably beg them to kill me when you die. Lol”
New Moon: the Graphic Novel two-page sample
Chapter 20: Volterra His dark eyes opened slowly as the clock tolled again. He looked down at me with quiet surprise. "Amazing," he said, his exquisite voice full of wonder, slightly amused. "Carlisle was right."
I’m surprised Edward didn’t learn Bella’s birthday in Midnight Sun and think “September 13th, 1987… was that a Friday? Friday the 13th would be fitting for her life of bad luck. No… that was a Sunday, of course, I remember that day well— I remember every day well— there was no indication that it would mark the beginning of my undoing. A painfully ordinary day, as all of them had been before this girl came into my life”
