Rumi gets “kidnapped” (she’s perfectly capable of freeing herself). Mira has some objections
But also very proud of this doodled rumi. She can be cool for once

I had it all (I had you) - Chapter 1 - somethinglikesawyer - KPop Demon Hunters (2025) [Archive of Our Own] by @somethinglikesawyer
YAKETY !!! Oh my gosh, this is stunning!! I love the compositional choices you made of putting Rumi alone on one side, with her wives fading away on the other, looking back at her as they go -- the missing pieces you can see in them already 😭 and then Rumi's RING?? I'm going to have to sue for emotional damage. The petals turning purple as they get closer to Rumi's fingertips and also them coming down the side are such gorgeous touches!! Every little detail is so thoughtful, and it just makes the emotion of the piece hit that much harder. You can feel the desperation, the PAIN, and the moment of goodbye itself. RAGHHHH. Doubled-over on the floor in agony.
Thank you SO much, this is so beautiful and I love it 🩶

Rumi would love to throttle their younger selves for allowing the architects free rein on the penthouse design, because it turned out to be impossible to babyproof.
Or: Rumi finds out her homeschool curriculum wasn't exactly comprehensive.
Extra Buoyant Corndog my beloved. I LOVED this fic so much - you already know this! Here is a wonderful something made by @wary-taru!
I have a question about your post on comments creators get upset by. I’ve been thinking about it and I’m genuinely curious how you avoid making the mistake of the first point: expressing strong reactions not intended by the creator?
This may be just because I don’t share creations publicly myself but I’m not really sure how to fully avoid doing that other than never commenting your reaction/thoughts on a work. I know you listed somewhat extreme examples of it but I assume someone thinking something is angstier than the creator intended even if the work was still intended to be angsty could still fall into that since it’s still a misalignment of reaction vs intent. I get having a vision and wanting it to land how you intend it to but with the very nature of creative works people are going to have it hit differently just because humans interpret things based on their own experiences. Again I mean this genuinely asking what to do differently because I don’t want to accidentally hurt a creator because I misunderstood the intent.
My only thoughts are to either never express a reaction and keep a comment to just appreciation the work exists or really take a step back to analyze the work to make sure your reaction aligns which still runs into the problem of potentially not being on the same page. I know you might say to just use common sense, and I agree to some degree, but I think it can get muddy when you’re dealing with a less extreme example than what you gave, and I’m coming from a perspective of really not wanting to hurt the feelings of the people who share their creations with us.
I’ve only shared my works with close friends and if their reactions don’t align, I’ve gone back to see if I’m satisfied with the way I wrote it since I know I have a lot of room to grow as a writer. If I find I’m satisfied, I then think it’s a matter of different perspectives and don’t ruminate further. I can imagine sharing stuff publicly is a lot different than just sharing to your close friends though so I would appreciate more of your thoughts on this.
Great question anon, simple answer is that you can't! And that's okay too.
To clarify, what I said in that part wasn't about people not interpreting things the exactly correct way. It IS genuinely fun to see what different people read into your work, and I agree with all your points. Your example of taking an angsty work as being even angstier than intended, that's not what I was meaning. Please don't take away the message that you shouldn't comment or engage unless you're certain!
Most of the examples I had in mind were extreme — people expressing fury, distress, frustration, despair because a work triggered something off for them. Something that was an obviously unintended, irrational reaction but leaves that creator going "oh man, I hate that I made someone feel that way"
The reason that I bring intentionality into it is because sometimes works are supposed to be upsetting, or ambiguous, or characters are meant to frustrate you. And when that's the case, it's affirming to know that the intended effect came through. So I don't want to imply negative reactions aren't appropriate either
Ultimately what it comes down to is just applying more awareness and empathy. Don't overthink it — as long as you're considering the person on the other side of the screen, it'll be alright
Hi Dremnec I was the anon on the Prince post that you reblogged. It hurt to get called out like that cause I love their work and I was not trying to be a negative in any way towards them but you are right. I didn't really think about how that could negatively impact Prince (and creators) and I will try to do better! Thank you for bringing it to my attention.
Hey anon, thanks for messaging! No shade at all to you, I know you meant well with it. I said it in the tags I think, but it's also not a 'you' thing, it just happened to align with behaviours I've been seeing more of recently.
I spend most of my time in creative circles, and have for a long while. And at a certain point the patterns really jump out. I think the unifying factor is what I'd call misguided compliments. Comments made by people who are excited about the content, but the message doesn't quite land, and ends up with the creator feeling hurt or disappointed with the reaction. Some examples of things I've seen creators get upset by multiple times:
Expressing strong reactions that weren't intended by the creator — so, for example, finding something serious funny/goofy; or crashing out about something that was intended to be light and fluffy. Obviously having these reactions can't be helped, but it can make that creator question why they failed to illicit the reception they intended.
Self deprecating, or implying the work is SO GOOD that it makes them feel insecure about their own creations. It never feels good to know your creative work is making someone feel bad, for any reason!
Putting down other creators/works, like "This is sooo much better than XYZ" or "Normally I hate this genre, but yours is the good one". Most of the time people writing a genre/trope also love consuming it, so you're kinda insulting their taste, as well as shading people who are their friends and peers
Pestering/pressuring for updates — I totally get it, I know there's tons of works I am absolutely chewing the walls to read more of. There's just a very fine line between expressing excitement and making a demand, which leaves a sour taste, and can suck the fun out of creating
Comparing to other works. Occasionally, this can be a huge compliment. But unless you know the author likes/admires that work, then this can very easily backfire. Comparisons can rub up on insecurities, make the creator feel like the work was misunderstood, or imply the work isn't being original (or at worst, derivative).
Again, these are comments that are almost always made in good faith, but a hint of negativity can entirely overshadow any positive message.
This isn't a demand or a callout by any means. Only a nudge to remember that sharing creative work can feel very vulnerable, and that we can all stand to think a little more about how sentiments might come across.
Creators are the lifeblood of fandom, and when they feel understood and supported, the community will thrive!
Do you take commissions?
Hellooo, sorry afraid not. But thanks for thinking of me!
