"Probably. Once again, I suppose it's abundantly clear how uncultured I am, hmm?" Calondra giggled. She would take no offense if he chose to say such a thing. Especially when she'd been locked away in a house for the last several years. Before that, she'd been rather sheltered even as a young woman. It was up to others to determine if that was enough of an excuse.

"Would you say sushi is your favorite then?"

"How interesting! I don't think I have never heard of a culture like that," Not that she didn't believe him, of course, "So there is no family name? Or is there no individual name? I suppose that might get confusing though." Was her questioning bothersome? Nervously, she kneaded her hands in front of her. For a moment, she forgot the sushi, once again too burdened by the weight of social pressure - and her constant misunderstandings of how to work it.

"Oh... I just do not have a great deal many friends. At least that live nearby." The last few words were spoken in a near rush to cover how pathetic they might sound. After all, what sort of person was without any friends? It was much easier to believe that instead Calondra simply didn't live near her companions.

"I don't think sushi would be my favorite thing to eat. I'd have to say steaks are my favorite! But I like to eat other food too. Sushi and seafood is one of my favorites, but not top on my list," Ashveil informed the woman with a kind smile.

"Not really, no family name ties to mine. But I come from another land. Also-- I'm a LOT older than I appear!" He was ancient despite being human. "But where I come from, many of us don't have family names. We have our own individual names. But there's some people that carry a last name. It's just not everyone that has one like it seems to be here," he explained further to her.

It was probably odd for someone accustom to first and last names, to hear someone who lacked a last name. He understood her confusion of it all.

"Ah, a shame that ones you have don't live nearby. I can't say I have a lot of friends either. I have a coworker named Narrator, I call him Mister N! But he's probably the closest person I'd call a friend.. Everyone else are just folks I talk to or people hiring me for work. I'm sort of a lone wolf," he chuckled softly. Not at all bothered how pathetic it might be to have no friends really. His only friend was a monkey.. but she didn't need to know what Narrator was... All his other friends, were dead.. and there was no replacing them...

Her cheek puffed up while her arms remained crossed as the man explained his financial situation. This was yet another time she'd heard about these pesky bills and how they ate up people's money. Where she came from, there wasn't anything as annoying as whatever these were!

Her body stiffened at the proposal she was homeless, her tongue ready to correct the man that she was in no such state (even though she currently was).

"N-" she raised a finger but the objection halted before the 'no' could be finished. Her finger lowered.

She was down on her luck. Her defensive pose softened as she reminded herself of the situation she was in: broke, stranded, and far from home. She might not love the idea of admitting her mistakes but what better way to score big than to have a sad story and a pair, er, single puppy eye. So rolling her words around her mouth, she pressed the tips of her pointer fingers together while sheepishly looking away. "Well...My ship ᵐᵃʸ ʰᵃᵛᵉ ᶜʳᵃˢʰᵉᵈ ᵃᶠᵗᵉʳ ᵇᵉⁱⁿᵍ ᵃᵗᵗᵃᶜᵏᵉᵈ ᵇʸ ᵃ ᵇᵘⁿᶜʰᵃ ᵒᵗʰᵉʳ ᵒⁿᵉˢ..."

Ashveil knew she was someone down on her luck, and was in need of help. Just the way she looked, how she zeroed in on his money. It was as easy to read as a picture book she was in need of help.

"Ah, I see. So you are in need of help then! Well, I'll give you a one of a time offer and give you my service for free! Of course there's only so much this old man can do. But you're probably in need of a roof over your head-- and I bet you're hungry too!" the man spoke as he rubbed the back of his head.

"There's a lady near my office that owes me. She's a land lord of some apartment complex. I can see if she'll agree to give you a place to live for the mean time. I think that's the most important thing at the moment, don't you think?"

His only worry was this girl would cause trouble to the little old lady that owed him.. While he wanted to help this odd girl, he didn't want to trouble other people...

"HOWEVER-- if you are to take a room, don't be causing any trouble, that's just something you need to agree to!"
