"I think I made a huge mistake…."
"What did you do now?"
.........
"Good freaking god! Seriously?! Why!! I’m happy being a cat lady! "
"Dude..you don't even have cats.."
Argh!
Taking another drag on his cigarette Merc beckoned Dean to follow him. Rounding the corner the pub was in sight. He held out a cigarette to the other man as he took a drag on his own.
"Good. Name’s Merc. Nice to meetcha Officer."
Following behind Merc until he caught up with him and was by his side now. Shaking his head when Merc offered him a cigarette. "No thanks." He said this as he seen the pub in sight. Dean didn't smoke but he knew others that did so it didn't bother him.
"Its detective. I'm Dean Snow. Its nice meeting you Merc."
High Notes || Bridget & Dean
A bright smile plastered on her face. Bridget was not one to be shy. “I don’t mind if you ran a couple minutes late. Work can manage to take up most of your time without you even realizing it.” Her arm slipped between his. “I am ready to go out and have some fun. It’s been a long time.” She walked with him out onto the side walk. “There is a pub close by we can walk to.” She looked up at him. The detective was very attractive. A little timid, or it could be nerves. She wouldn’t bite.
Her teeth scrape along her lower tier. “Did you get the information you needed from the culprit?” She asked. Dealers who sold to kids deserved to be roughed up. They deserved a lot more to be honest. She knew of a few suppliers, but she was obligated to keep quiet. Boston could be a beautiful city, but all cities had their weak points. Their darkness and over time the blanket of darkness consume more. “Where you born in Boston?”
Seeing the smile on her face, caused Dean to smile a little bit more. "That it does. I know that fact all too well cause it takes up most of my time. I apologize if I was late but I think this time I was right on time. So go me." He said this as he offered his arm to her. "Same here. But not too much fun or we might end up in the drunk tank and I don't think that would look to good on my part." He teased lightly as he looked over at her, walking out with her. "Walking is perfectly fine with me." Looking down and then at her once again, he couldn't help but smile more. The doctor was very beautiful actually. Maybe he was a little bit nervous because the only people he hung out with was the guys after work. So yeah, this was different for him.
Shaking his head slightly. "No, not yet. But I will. He will give me what I need sooner or later. Probably tomorrow. He was selling to kids so he was busted on that. Most likely offer him a lower sentence if he gives me the name of his dealer." He explained, looking at her still. Dean didn't like people who sold to kids, so he may have got more rougher with them then what was needed to be honest. "Yeah, I was born here actually. I have a twin named Dana and an adoptive sister named Renee. What about you? Where you born here?" He questioned, raising a brow slightly.
Finally
"A day off tomorrow and I have zero plans of sleeping any time soon."
"That..sucks."
.........
"WHO THE FUCK SUGGESTED TO MY MOM THAT I SHOULD ONLINE DATE???? RENEE, I’M LOOKING AT YOU!"
"IT WAS RENEE! SHE DID THE SAME SHIT TO ME!"
High Notes || Bridget & Dean
Bridget finished her last file for the night and said her good nights to the nurses and did a brief over with the next doctors coming on shift with patients who were currently in rooms. Most nights she would stay a little longer and help out, but tonight she had other plans. Finding herself in the staff room, she opened her locker and hung up her white coat. She pulled out her jeans, switching them over from her work pants. She reached in for her sheer blouse and slipped it on over her tank top. She tugged the elastic from her hair and shook her head to let her auburn hair hang over her shoulders, running her fingers through them. She found the Bombshell’s in bloom body mist and spritzed herself before grabbing her bag and closing her locker.
It would be nice going out. A change from her normal routine. The heel of her boots clicked on the floor and she smiled saying good night to others as she made her way to the front doors of the hospital. It would be easier to meet the detective there. Standing outside of the doors, the cool wind causing her body to shudder. She looked around for his face, her arms crossing over her chest. A smile crept over her facial features when she saw him and gave a small wave. “Hey. You made it just on time.”
When Dean left the hospital, he brought the guy back to the station. "I want the name of your dealer and then I'll just give you a couple of months, Kenny. Come on." Kenny was still refusing, placing him into a jail cell after he got booked. "We're going to hold you for twenty four hours and then maybe you'll think twice about selling to little kids for your dealer." He said this as he walked away, heading up to the offices. Dean went into his office, sitting behind his desk he filled out the paperwork that he needed to fill out. Hearing his fax machine go off, he rolled over to it thanks to his chair and grabbed it. Putting it into the file, he would get this to James in the morning. Right now, he had plans. For once he was going to leave earlier then what he usually would. But he was going out for a drink with Bridget Sommers, so yeah that was more important than work for him right now. Making sure that he had everything that he needed, he stood up from behind his desk. Heading over to the door, opening it. Once he shut off the light, he made sure to lock up his office before he left the building.
It seemed like a good idea to get out, actually going out for a drink with someone that wasn't just the guys from work. Getting into his car, starting it, he drove to the hospital. He was actually in his regular car, it was more like a Jeep. Once he arrived at the hospital, he parked and got out. Heading inside to wait for her. Seeing Bridget, there was a smile on his lips now. "Hey. Good, I'm glad I thought that I was going to be late to be honest." He said this as he went over to her, meeting her half way. Dean was a nervous a little bit to be honest, but he was going to put those aside and focus on them getting a drink. "Are you ready?" He asked, that smile of his remained on the corner of his lips.
Argh!
"This chair is more comfortable. I deserve it," she laughed, "The book is a period peace. Sappy love shit, you’ll probably hate it," she said with a laugh, "You would be surprised how many people marry and divorce from online dating. It’s the norm. Maybe I’ll just make a page for you and Dana in my spare time."
"Oh you deserve my chair? And yes, it is very comfortable." He laughed also. "I'll still end up reading it because you are my sister. So, yes I'll read your book, Renee." Shaking his head, he laughed again. "No, internet dating is not for me. And I swear you do that, I'll poke you to death with sporks. But feel free to do that to Dana cause I'm pretty sure she'd do the same to you."
Argh!
"Because I don’t want to talk about me. But just to keep you happy, I’ve started my new book," she looked down as they walked, Renee stepping into his office and immediately finding a seat in the chair behind his desk, his chair, "Well then you can always try online dating. Just don’t watch Catfish. It will ruin the fun."
"I'm just worried about my sister. Did you? What is this one going to be about?" He asked, raising a brow slightly walking next to her still. Dean watched her sit down behind his desk. "Seriously?" He chuckled, sitting down across from his desk. "Online dating? Are we resourcing to that now? Might as well suggest that to Dana also."
Argh!
"Nope. Not gonna swtich things to me. Not just yet," she laughed as she followed him into the room. She took the bottle of water, opening it and take a large swallow, "Hey, Ma would probably just say, ‘She can get clean’ especially if she thinks her hips are perfect for child bearing."
"Why not? I want to know how my sister is doing." He laughed a little bit, shaking his head slightly. Bringing the cup with of coffee to his lips before taking a drink. Swallowing it, before he moved out of the cafe and down to his office, opening the door for her. "Yeah, she probably will but still. I don't know what I want. I don't know if I want to be with someone who is a criminal. Always gotta worry about my shit gettin' stolen and sold for drugs."
Argh!
"That’s because she thinks we should have given her grandchildren ages ago. You have no idea the amount of times it came up when Jack and I were first married," her smile faltered slightly, "Who knows maybe you’ll meet the girl of your dreams in the interrogation office. Opposites do attract, right?"
"Yeah, probably. Knowing her yeah that is probably what it is. I could only imagine. How are you doing?" He asked, walking into the little lunch room, grabbing a bottle of water and getting himself some coffee. "Yeah, you know I've always wanted to date a junkie."
Argh!
"It would…we could always do the old twin act we did as kids. Dress alike just to screw with people…ah the good old days." She froze for a moment at his misunderstanding and held a hand up, shaking her head. "No no I meant tension between me and…eh…nevermind" She smirked a bit at the idea of their mom trying to hook each of them up. "Yeah…trust me, I know. I mean it isn’t that easy when you’re busy all the time…" But she froze as he mentioned James, shifting her eyes away quickly. "Can we not…you know, mention him, please?" She ran a quick hand through her blonde strands before glancing back at him, sticking her tongue out. "Oh shut up! My point was that Owen’s like a big brother or something…" Her lips twitched into a quick smirk at his come-back, rolling her eyes in response. "Keep telling yourself that…last I checked, we weren’t that identical.."
"I think the criminals would most likely break easier to be honest. God, that twin act was easy to pull sometimes." Dean chuckled, shaking his head. Raising a brow slightly. "James and you? Why is there tension between James and yourself?" Last thing he wanted was their mother wanting hooking up, but it gave him a good laugh. "Which sucks for both..having busy lives that is." Watching her shift her eyes quickly, he was good at reading people sometimes. "Right, got it. You still care about him them though but I'll drop it for right now." He chuckled again, running a hand through his hair. "Got it. Owen is like a big brother whenever I'm not around." Rolling his eyes slightly, he grinned a little bit. "But we are. You have my nose and my eyes."
Argh!
"Then the bad cop knows what he’s doing, kudos to you bro," she laughed before nudging him with her shoulder, "I assume you haven’t been out much lately. No pretty ladies falling for the Dean Snow charm?"
"Always does, sis. Always does." He laughed, nudging her back playfully. "No, not that I'm aware of. But mom told me to get a girlfriend the other day when I was visiting her." Shaking his head, he chuckled a little bit, while looking over at her.
Argh!
"I might take you up on that. Would be pretty fun to play good cop bad cop with my brother. And maybe break up the tension around here… Hah! She kind of has a point though. Seriously, you’ve been single for too long. Then again, she keeps asking me about when I’m getting married…just when I keep reminding her I just got out of a relationship…." She sighed for a moment before rapidly blinking her eyes and frowning. "That’s just…that’s like you hitting on me! Don’t ever say that again or I swear I’ll slap you! And she doesn’t mind seeing your ugly face because she’s not your twin. Really….I’d call you the male version of me but then that’d mean I’d have to call you good looking…and we already established, you got an ugly face.”
"I know right. It would be a very interesting duo actually. Good cop, bad cop brother and sister act. Tension? No, there is never tension around here. See, glad that she doesn't just pester me about it. I think she just wants us to be happy or something. And I will stay single until I meet someone that I can actually connect with and understands my job. At least you had James that understood." He shrugged a little bit, looking down and then back at him. Making a face, shaking his head. "Ew, gross. I would never, ew, gross, Dana. Seriously." Shaking his head, he looked over at her. "So you are just calling yourself ugly as well because we are twins."
Argh!
"Sounds fair enough to me. I should have known better and brought us some from the corner cafe," she began walking with her brother, hands clasping behind her back, "So did the bad cop routine at least work?"
"Probably, would have been a lot better than two day old coffee. But you know us, cop we can never get the good stuff." He placed his hands into his pocket, looking over at her. "It did, like it always does. We move in on the dealer tomorrow."
