Hi hi!!! Idk how to start this!!! But here's the introduction to my Recess Elementary School AU! Feel free to ask me about it btw!!!
This AU takes place during the 1990-1991 school year! Or at least starts there! These are the (somewhat) important characters there!! (Which is basically just the teens aged down) Heights are not drawn to scale
"Detweiler" is the main focus character in that au, but the other characters get the attention as well. In case the names and information aren't readable, I'll type them out here in order!
-Melissa, 5th grade, class of '9̶8̶ '9̶9̶ '00
-Lady Sheila, 5th grade, class of '98
-Ellie Lawson, 3rd grade, class of '00
-Chad LaSalle, 1st grade, class of '02
-Sally, 4th grade, class of '99
-Natalie, 4th grade, class of '99
-"Detweiler", 4th grade, class of '99
-Cy Kowalski, 1st grade, class of '02
-Vito Spinelli, 1st grade, class of '02
-Joey Spinelli, 5th grade, class of '9̶8̶ '99
(Note: the "class of 'xx" thing is the year they'd graduate high school. The year that's crossed out means they should've graduated on that year, but due to some events (like Joey's arrest or Melissa's school records), they've been held back. Ellie, Vito, and Cy were close to being held back, but Ellie and Vito both clutched in during high school while Cy had Chad helping him!)
Fun fact about the placements they're in: this is done on purpose to depict the characters' precedence in this AU. For example, Chad, Sally, Natalie, and "Detweiler" are the main group. Melissa, Sheila, and Ellie are the supporting members (kind of like Cornchip girl with TJ's group!! Though as teens, Chad and Melissa's places switch). Cy, Vito, and Joey are the least important to the group, but would still have something
A few things I'd like to add are some of their designs. For example, Sheila's skirt being purple. It is seen somewhere that purple is seen as a "royal" color due to it being the most precious and expensive color dye. Although Sheila's not actually part of royalty, her little brother, King Bob, would hold that title somewhat.
As for Ellie and "Detweiler", their color pallet would match their brothers' (Erwin and TJ) pallets until middle school
As for the Spinelli brothers, I headcanon that beanie was a hand-me-down from Joey, and a couple years later, Vito would start wearing a certain pair of boots
Now onto Melissa:
In this AU, She's the ONLY one that doesn't go to Third Street Elementary, yet her family's familiar with some other families (like "Detweiler", Sally, and Natalie). She'd hang out with the group on some days either after school or during the weekend!
She would get updated by her friends about what goes on during school time, and she'd tell them what's going on at her end as well
Personalities for each character!! (In order)
Melissa: Likes to gossip and tease, but is almost always emotionally available !!
Sheila: Older sister of King Bob. Bubbly, but with an unfiltered mind
Ellie: Older sister of Erwin. Loud, sort of bad at expressing her affections, but is quite nice
Chad: Older brother of Vince. Geeky and proud!!! (And kind!!!) Would share his interests and discoveries with others and wouldn't care about being criticized much for who he is!
Sally: Preserved, but nice. Though she's quite short-tempered
Natalie: Nice, but also quite gossipy
"Detweiler": Older sibling of TJ. Short-tempered and preserved, likes to gossip, but they do love their friends (and definitely nicer than their teenage version). They'd hate school
Cy: Older brother of Chucko. He's rude, mean, and loves to mock people. Almost everyone doesn't like him
Vito: Older brother of Spinelli. He's loud, disruptive, and would often fight Cy during recess
Joey: Older brother of Vito and Spinelli. Much like his brother, he's also loud and disruptive. He's also quite a troublemaker.
Last thing I wanna talk about here: relationships! Though this AU will have no romance, I do want to talk about how people would get along. This post is getting long, so I'll share this chart instead
Apologies if these are too cluttered !!! But yeah, the only reason Chad tolerates Cy is because Cy is sort of "nicer" around him (only because Chad would threaten to stop tutoring him in math if he shows his rudeness). Despite what it seems, Vito and Cy would be more intimidated by Chad than the other way around!

I'd like to add that despite the fact that Melissa's the only one that doesn't go to Third Street Elementary, she's not technically lonely. In fact, she's quite popular at the school she goes to !!! (She doesn't go to 89th street school either)
