maybe it’s just me

but i think that the best friends of frontmen often go under appreciated. for example, matthew hoopes doesn’t get nearly as much attention as matthew thiessen. and while we all love spooky jim, good old joshua dun, we know that tyler joseph (like thies) is the writer and the main attracter of the spotlight.

but i think that hoopes and dun are much stronger people. they are more secure in themselves, more content with who and where they are in life, more consistent in their faith, more open about their love for God. they’re the backbone that matty and tyler sometimes lose, the foundation for their fragile friends.

but i can’t say much, i connect with matt thiessen and ty joseph much more than hoopes and dun. i waver, i doubt, i’m inconsistent. thank the Lord for solid friends that stay through my messy emotions and ever-changing heart.

Relient K Day

So I always have forgotten to mention that I did some math to figure out the day Relient K would be celebrated. It’s not very useful now because the next one will be next year, but be forewarned!!

Using the averages of each date of an albums release, I have calculated that Relient K day would be June 13th!

Now…my ideas for this day, like some have tried to do in the past, are to do things like wear merch, post your pictures of you wearing merch or at the concert…with the band, ANYTHING rk related with the hashtag #relientkday. We can only listen to Relient K for that day …dress like a member…really so many things can happen with a day for this band! Spread the word, and reblog any ideas you have for this day!! Even though it won’t happen for a while, just remember: June 13th, Relient K Day :) Love you all!

I bought my favorite Relient K albums at last!

Guys I just figured something out!!

I Found Love is a companion song to Relient K’s song Deathbed.

No no seriously, they are!!

Deathbed is an 11 minute song about a man reminiscing about his horrid life, and how he came to Jesus later in life, and he is dying alone, but Jesus is with him. It’s a sad song, but a happy song too.

I Found Love is about dying, but in the opposite way. He is surrounded by loved ones, he is happy to die, although sad to leave his love. It is sad, and happy too.

The clincher for me was the end to both of them. Listen to the end of Deathbed where Matt Thiessen sings softly, “I am loved” and then compare it with Adam singing, “I found love.” I swear they are meant to be companion songs!!!

Listen to one after the other, you’ll see it! Adam was channelling his inner Relient K for this one, it’s awesome.
