a hand stops just before him, brown eyes flickering with the processing of his injuries. he’s awake now, every prior snide comment from during the time when his programming veiled his thoughts now festering in a resentful squalor. yet he can’t bring himself to walk away from anyone hurting. call it that stupid amount of empathy and feeling that’s gotten him in all of this turmoil–he remembers how hank said once that it must be nice to not feel anything at all. connor barely remembers what that’s like anymore.
“detective reed, i’ve scanned you and your wounds are not life-threatening. however, if you continue on the way you are, you’re likely to become exhausted.” i should be happy about you passing out and shutting your fucking mouth for five minutes. “i suggest keeping still and letting me tend to your wounds as soon as possible.”
