KINGDOM COME DELIVERANCE SENTENCE STARTERS
These are quotes taken from the games "Kingdom Come Deliverance" & "Kingdom Come Deliverance 2", developed by Warhorse Studios. Feel free to adjust as needed. Warning for swearing & crude language.
"Fortune favours the bold."
"You know the trouble with an adventurous life? It can end before it gets started."
"If you want to convince someone they're wrong, try using your mouth and not your fists."
"Is this usually how you greet visitors?"
"I'll stand by you, even if it isn't always easy going."
"A bad day is just a bad day. And it doesn't mean your whole life is fucked up."
"Things always look better in the morning. The sooner I lie down, the better chance there is of nothing else fucking up today, so I shall bid you goodnight."
"Man proposes, but God disposes. And then boots you right in the balls."
"I feel quite hungry."
"Courage is a thing of honour. But what you're proprosing isn't courage, it's foolhardiness."
"I wouldn't want anyone else by my side."
"We had a disagreement, that's all. Who doesn't sometimes?"
"We got off on the wrong foot alright. But it seems we have a lot to say to each other."
"Don't you dare get yourself killed!"
"Not everybody is born with a silver spoon in their mouth."
"Come now! You don't have to be bashful infront of me."
"Dreams shouldn't be taken lightly. They can have real meaning, no matter how hard they are to understand."
"What's the matter? You worried about me?"
"What are you gaping at? Have you nothing better to do?"
"I intend to make the most of this trip, one way or another."
"That was yesterday's shit! Now it's all new and we're up to our necks in it!"
"Nobody will hand anything on a platter to people like you and me."
"Why the hell can't I save you once for a change?"
You can't let it get to you. Neither the good or the bad.
"Not many people can leave such a strong first impression."
"God, is this retribution for my sins?"
"Everyone makes mistakes. Only a better person owns up to them."
"The stronger dog fucks the bitches."
"I've been thinking a lot about the two of us."
"Are you sure you didn't kill someone's father? or mother?"
"The most adventure I expected was a fuck or two."
"You try to keep your hands clean, but war is a nasty business."
"It is better to have your head on your neck and your foe on their knees than the other way around."
"Latin is tough when you're sober."
"Long ago I came to the conclusion that the only thing that makes sense is that it's all a trial. Life is one long series of problems to solve. The more you solve, the better a man you become…. Tribulations spawn in life and over and over again we must stand our ground and face them.”
"Under all that armour and finery you will only ever find a man."
"When you got your revenge, did it make you feel any better?"
"How could I refuse you anything?
"You have to fight to the bitter end, with all the strength you can muster."
i am not allowed to be exhausted
Its a secret I keep tucked inside my chest
Lark would be eleven if he'd found her. He didn't know her birthday. He'd learned of her existence sometime close to it and Catherine never told him for certain. It wasn't like her to tell him anything. Disappearing for months had him hoping for the first time in years, but she returned. Same dour expression, same private meetings, but this time she held a baby.
He marked the day. Eleven years, just after he'd been named Inquisitor.
All the power in the world and his daughter was still lost. Or dead. The agents hadn't found anything. He hadn't found anything.
Not when the Circle fell, not when he was Lord Trevelyan suddenly home and demanding assistance in finding her, not when he reached the templar's home to find a body. Angry mages had reached her before he could. Not that he blamed them, there was nothing but relief in seeing Catherine dead.
But, no sign of Lark. He pushed through her belongings, the smell of burnt flesh settling in his nose, looking for signs of a child's existence. A dress, old boots, a small room with a lock on the outside. A tiny prison for the child of a monster.
Leliana's agents found light in the darkest holes, turned stones over that hadn't existed; if they couldn't find a sign of her, maybe it was time...
But acceptance wasn't as easy as acknowledgement. Even if the hurt made it impossible to find hope.
@saccageurs asked: ❝ I love you. ❞
He'd forgotten how much he actually liked parties. The calm, entitled atmosphere, the lack of direct conflict, the clothes. Maker, it felt good to be wearing something other than his armor. Or worse, the traveling attire that stunk of horse.
Hours spent reading himself, scrubbing away the months of travel. Maybe he stunk of horse. It would explain why everyone was avoiding him. Not that he minded.
It allowed him to focus on the best part of the evening.
Caydhen looked well—in the fake way he always did when something was wrong—but he was determined to coax a real smile out of him. Caydhen moved and Kiri fell into step beside him. He couldn't stop staring, studying the lines on his face, new and familiar. Drawn brows, downturned lip, Kiri had wanted to be there for him but the world always came first.
How many years had it been since they'd danced?
He guided him away, ignoring the huffs in protest from behind. It had been years since he'd been politically important enough to care about impropriety. So what if he pulled his lover away from exhaustive conversation? The night was theirs.
He wrapped his hand around his waist, forcing them closer, lips brushing his ear.
"Je t’aime moi aussi, mon cœur."
Does Kiri ever wonder if he had a kid if it would also come out with a glowing hand
SOMEHOW I don't think its EVER crossed his mind
Happy Father's Day to Kiri who thinks his kid is dead for over a decade and never processes it bc he's busy.
She can't help but crack a smile at the beginning of his response.
Her heart beats hard, still. But perhaps she was wrong. Fearing that this would be some... hm. She can't quite place what she even thought he would be. Some horrible tyrant, or the broodling of one. Unbridled ambition with a hand reaching towards the sky.
"The hordes of darkspawn chasing me, mostly," she answers in kind, a wry smile on her lips.
"Being the person who doesn't look away can be hard. Especially when you enter a room, and everyone who's refused to look for themselves tells you you didn't see what you saw."
She knows all too well, now.
"What do you plan to do? To unite the world with you?" she tilts her head. "I had a hard enough time with one country."
"Unite the world? Maker, that's daunting. I don't know."
For years the world had been the inside of the Ostwick Circle. Kiri knew every brick or snag in the rug. The same faces greeted him day in and day out. Monotony was the law. Outside, let alone countries, were a distant memory.
"But that's not what anyone wants to hear. Understandable, given the state of things."
His smile doesn't reach his eyes.
"My issue lies in the framing of the question. What must I do to unite the world? Frankly, very little. The threats of the rifts affect everyone. The mage and templar conflict destroyed many lives beyond those directly involved. People came together before I was named Inquisitor. While it's true—some make the pilgrimage because I am the Herald of Andraste—many join to fight for what they once had or a better future.
"If I stand at the head of a cause already united, there's little I need to do beyond lead. Borders are immaterial."
What does Kiri even look like? here, have a compilation of pictures taken of my tv and my art because i cannot be bothered to get nice screencaps of my ps5
Thanks for looking, don't stare too hard at my art its for fun
“You’re so helpful with your words."
"I think maybe this is our fault."
"We have failed so many times at so many tasks, but at this, we will not fail."
"Seems uninteresting and human."
"Gently talking solves a lot of things."
"I’m pretty sure I didn’t ask for your feedback."
"You do not scare me."
"I feel as though the universe is unraveling."
"I haven’t seen you in weeks!"
"We should go."
"I will do my best. Or, well, actually maybe not my best, but some level of effort."
"Probably that’s bad news."
"How did you get in here?"
"That was really gross! Do it again."
"Our time and space finally, finally meet again."
"Do not be defined by how you can die, but how you can live."
"As far as the laws of the universe are concerned, it is not where I belong."
"And that is—well, I think that’s a good thing."
"Do they not like me?"
"Once again, it’s just you and me."
"Be proud of your place in the cosmos. It is small, and yet it is."
"We all take what we can get in this life, you know?"
"I hope that we all find something—or someone—that can keep the light on a little longer against the endless, pressing dark."
"Why did you make a big fuss about it and call us here?"
"Are you safe? Is everything okay?"
"Where did they get that photo of you?"
"I, too, am starting to feel scared."
"Choose something quieter than a gun."
"Do you believe in ghosts?"
"You should hear what they’re saying about you."
"Perhaps take up drinking while crying in a quiet room."
"I don’t think it’s safe there."
"Nothing and nowhere is safe."
"We can still do things together—even in absence."
"Happiness is a fool’s daydream."
"I thought it would be different than this."
"I’m not saying it will definitely be fun; it probably won’t be."
"Even if you could, you would wish you hadn’t."
"Won’t that be dangerous. And probably illegal!"
"Worry less about the person you once were or the person you dream you someday will be."
"Worry about the person you are now. Or, don’t even worry. Just be that person. Be the best version of that person you can be."
"Is this how you want to live your life? Shuffling from one trivial moment to the next, never letting anything add up to anything else?"
"Do not think that you are going to be able to keep anything from me."
"If you opened your eyes, I’m sure it would upset you."
"This is me as a part of your life, trying to understand that life."
"This is you, and I’m trying to understand."
"Words can’t capture it, but I have only words."
"Very little of what I have to say is true."
"No, don’t. I don’t trust you to make anything good."
"I hate myself, is what I’m trying to say. We have that in common."
"It will all be over soon. And then something else will take its place."
"No one listens when I talk. They hear, but—they don’t listen."
"We all—all of us—so often fail at what we want to do. That’s okay."
"People could die for knowing these things."
"It’s not like knowing has made my life easier. Quite the opposite."
"What more is there to say?"
"The secret to a long life lies in how acutely you perceive time."
"I am sometimes more doubt than man."
"I know what this is, and it is not good."
"I don’t think we’ll get much help from them."
"When I think only of myself, I am scared. But knowing I am with you, I am not scared."
"Where the hell are we?"
"Please. Tell me. Everything."
"We are not one person. How lonely that would be!"
"I can feel the distance between us. And I can know that that distance, viewed properly, is no distance at all.”
[falls into trashcan] nice. so good to finally be home.
starter of varying length for @devi1ishdetails
“What do you believe in?”
She’s not even sure why she’s asking. But…
It’s foolish to believe the things they say. The Herald of Andraste, pushed out of the Fade by something divine. Looking at him, he's just... a person. Like any other. But something nags her.
“Why are you doing the things that you’re doing? What... drives you?”
"Spiritually? Morally? Philosophically?"
He raises his brow, arms folded neatly behind his back. The Hero of Ferelden had seemed mythic to him once. Sitting where he was now gave him understanding; they were people, like any other.
"Ah, like that. Well.. have you seen the rifts pouring demons onto unsuspecting people?"
That was part of it, of course, the problem only he could solve. But he doubted that was the answer she was looking for.
"No one deserves to live in fear of things outside of their control. Especially not things that could be solved if someone else cared. I refuse to be the person who looks the other way. I've seen too many, experienced the consequences."
His gaze was lost for a moment.
"What drove you?"
something something I finally made a carrd something something and updated his bio and my rules

The howl of the wind drowned what little sound that could be mustered by mortal vocal cords and the bolts of lightning cooked their flesh too fast for the slavers to register pain. It was a death that was too good, too dignified for them ─── scum that barely ranked higher than templars in her own opinion. The poor souls locked in the cages were being liberated by the others that Solas had insisted that be brought along, with their warm eyes and soothing nothings, not needing to say the words that were spoken behind her back.
A soft touch would be needed, after coming face to face with the Dreadwolf's mad attack dog.
A sharp gasp told her all she needed to know, a scowl further twisting the mangled mess Kirkwall had left of her face, before she slipped out into the alley to make short work of any that dared to follow. Caelia hadn't been outside for longer than a breath when movement brought her hands up, magic bursting from enchanted gems.
❛❛ The last time i saw you, things were good between us. ❜❜ To hear @devi1ishdetails' voice felt like a gut punch, an unwelcome flashback to Skyhold when things were . . . something warmer. Her hands lowered, but the magic remained present ─── the only concession she could give to one of the few people she could once call friend. ❛❛ And it's only because of our history, that you are still in one piece, Inquisitor. ❜❜
The scene was familiar ── as familiar as her particular brand of destruction could be.
Bodies stained red, the pungent smell of cooked flesh; she never could throttle her rage for injustice. Slavers' deaths would never weigh on his mind but the time for his admiration of her had passed. He'd never been this close before.
Attacking never came to mind. He supposed it would make sense. They were technically on opposite sides. Peace and destruction, order and chaos, a myriad of phrases his advisors deemed necessary to make decisive action. There was no clarity, though. Not really. Reports of elven rebellions, destruction of slavers, movement through Thedas in connection to the Dreadwolf...Solas. It meant nothing until he understood the goal. Until then, he was on a fact-finding mission.
Finding her was unrelated. Convenient timing did the work.
Kiri showed her his hand. The second was resting on his trunk in the room he'd rented.
"I retired that title, actually."
He'd wondered what seeing her again would feel like; the warmth of an old friend, heartbreak he'd never shown, but there was nothing. It was as if they'd never parted, growing older and weary. Matching dark circles, exhaustion that seeped into their bones. Different paths to the same destination.
Death fought for him once; how many times did it sing for her?
"I've been looking for you," he took a few cautious steps, "Ironically, not today. This was an accident. We had the same targets. You always loved to beat me to the punch."
