There is something very telling in how Netflix DMC very openly puts the villains on a pedestal and said villains: genocidal white savior with a sob story, rich billionaire with a sob story, and a genocidal tyrant (sob story is pending on this one) while it tries putting down heroic characters from the games: Dante (ridiculed and weakened), Sparda (goes without saying), Lady (unnecessary moral complications)

Adi Shankar and Alex Larsen don't believe in the good of humanity or hope or positivity. The former is quite rich himself, thus close to Arius and has claimed White Rabbit as his self-insert.

Those qualities make them dull and soulless writers but they especially make them terribly unsuited for Devil May Cry, the franchise that's about hope, love and humanity.
