Three years ago, my dog went viral on Imgur and Reddit, thanks to this picture I took right after she’d yanked down a post from the front of our house with her bare strength.

But like the image above says, this is not a good post.

That dog above, the one that made so many people laugh, her name is Eva, and she’s my 7-year-old lab. She was just diagnosed with canine lymphoma.

Without chemo, she only has 3 months left with us. But her oncologist has given her a good prognosis with chemotherapy. She could live to see her 9th, 10th, and even 11th birthday.

Which means more years of this happy, ridiculous puppy.

The price to extend her life? $8500.

I nearly died when I saw the number. I’m paying off 4 student loans right now, and my parents are in insurmountable debt. I thought, this is it, we’re screwed. In between crying spells and anxiety attacks, I realized what my choices were: give up and let Eva go in the next 3 months, or crowdfund my ass off.

Internet: you’ve done it before, now I’m begging you, do it again. Spread Eva like wildfire. She deserves a second chance. She deserves the extra time, and all the fun and happiness she’ll have in that time.

No. I’m sorry but no. I usually would never post this on my main blog because that’s not what my followers signed up for but this is so important to me that I have to. YOU CAN BE SEXIST TO ANY GENDER. YOU CAN BE RACIST TO ANY RACE. Jesus Christ why is this so hard for people to understand? Sexism and racism are not based on oppression, they are based on power. The subconscious idea behind both is to put someone down for something they cannot change no matter how hard they try. (I must note that, of course, you can change your gender, but is an exception. A woman who is completely comfortable being a woman cannot simply change into a man when she is being discriminated against based on gender) It’s quite an easy thing to imagine, imagine someone telling you that you can’t do something because your skin is a certain color. Your brain is now at a conundrum, it can’t solve this problem. There is no possible outcome that would ever make it okay for you to do that thing, because your skin color CAN’T be changed. And that makes you feel powerless. And that’s the point. And here’s a question; if a woman DOESN’T feel comfortable being female and transitions to male, can people no longer be sexist to him? And this brings me to my main point. This post is absolute bs because it completely relies on how @caffeinatedfeminist uses the English language. See the words sexism and racism are different types of discrimination. Sexism is the discrimination based off of gender. So if you are being discriminating to a male, because he’s male, it’s still sexism. You can call it discrimination, rudeness, inconsideration, and/or prejudice; but no matter what it’s still sexism. Racism is the discrimination based off of race. And until the day that you tell me that white is not a race, just as much as black or Asian are, then being discriminatory, rude, inconsiderate, and/or prejudice towards white people, because they’re white, is still racist. It boggles my mind that people who fight for equality can be so blatantly biased and unfair. And I invite anyone who disagrees to message me with their opinion. I’m not promising to support you, but I will listen to what you have to say.
