Reilly chuckled at her before lifting the lid of the barrel and looking inside. He frowned at the contents. “It’s...” He couldn’t form the words of both his surprise and his disappoint. “It’s jello....honest to god green jello. Come have a look.”

Reilly chuckled at her before lifting the lid of the barrel and looking inside. He frowned at the contents. “It’s...” He couldn’t form the words of both his surprise and his disappoint. “It’s jello....honest to god green jello. Come have a look.”
Reilly rose an eyebrow at the obvious irritation of the other man. “Because I don’t believe in fitting into just one box. I chose a track because I had to, but if it were up to me, I would dabble in all four. Being well rounded is more important than just specializing.”
“Alien, huh,” Reilly mused. “It’s amazing how far we’ve gotten when we can describe something as alien and that’s taken as completely normal. So it’s aliens, but it’s yours, I’m guessing...”
Reilly chuckled. This guy was something else. “I didn’t expect you to be that into that idea, but if you really want it, I suggest you campaign for it. I would totally bring something to the potluck. Mac’n’Cheese via New York Kraft.”
“If we all could control our abilities from the beginning, life would be a lot easier, huh?” Reilly asked conversationally. “I mean I’m still working on my abilities. I just got them a few years ago. It’s been a journey to say the least.”
Reilly chuckled. “It’s funny how that works, isn’t it? You see I never really met my father, but Kaine and Matt really picked up the slack for him. It shows that people don’t have to be related to you to be your family.”
“Reilly Tyne,” he responded with a small frown, unsure what to make of this young man. He stood at his full height, shoulders squared and Zarathos waiting to respond to any attack in the back of his mind. “I have to be sharp, I’m a lawyer...and if you’re not the type of “trouble” that I’m thinking of then what are you exactly?” He wasn’t one to pull punches. One of the reasons why the DA had jumped when he applied to their intern program.
“I really hope that training is a worthy challenge. What is the sense of learning under the Earth`s mightiest heroes if the only tasks we will have to do is face dolls and ridiculously simple technological scenarios?” Halden observed with mischief clear on his expression “Perhaps we should start causing more noise. To see if in that way we can get this boring place to start getting serious.” he added with a casual gesture, his aura subtly making the words more compelling.
“Something tells me you’re trouble with a capital T,” Reilly responded with a frown. He didn’t mind a little mischief, but this guy seemed a bit like bad news. Zarathos was itching to fight in the back of his mind. Something was bugging the old demon. “And considering training hasn’t started yet, who knows what we’re going to do.”
Klarke floated around the beach, loving the feel of the slight breeze blowing through her hair. Once she found a suitable place she landed and sat down, staring out into the ocean contently. She looked up when she heard footsteps approaching her and upon seeing the person, she grinned, “Hi! I’m Klarke.” She said excitedly.
Reilly had been exploring the island when he saw a very cute blonde girl fly overhead and landed only a few yards away from him on the beach. She saw him, she gave him a friendly smile and a bubbly greeting. He wouldn’t help but chuckle at her infectious energy.
“Nice to meet you Klarke,” he said with a wave. “I’m Reilly. Have a good flight?”
“Fascinating,” Reilly said, genuinely interested. “And what do you need by special circumstance? Virgin birth? Son of a God?” Reilly racked his brain for possibilities he had heard from mythology, but he couldn’t think of anything else.
“It’s a bit more complicated than that...he’s the only thing keeping me alive,” Reilly replied with a roll of his eyes. He was trying very hard not to be offended. He knew how it sounded, but there was no need to laugh about it.
“Come on, where is your sense of adventure?” Reilly snickered. “Are you seriously that afraid of your parents?” Reilly barely remembered his mother, but he had never been afraid of his foster parents ever.
“YOU all realize we only have a few days until training starts, where’s the parties?” Nikki asked, her hands square on her hips. “What are we just going to sit around and do nothing or are we gonna get lit?”
Reilly raised an eyebrow at her blatant desire to party. He recognized her, mainly from the tabloids. Nikki Wayne, who was a notorious party girl and daughter of Wayne Industries CEO Bruce Wayne, better known to the superhero world as Batman. This was Batman’s daughter. She was not what he expected.
“Ummm....I guess we can party,” Reilly replied with a shrug. He wasn’t much a partier. He had spent his college and law school days hitting books than hitting beaches or going to parties.
nathaniel looked around the labs. normally he would be alone but it wasn’t long until he had heard some rustling. he would get annoyed by any and all noise but he was failing at his nano chips so anything and anyone was welcomed. ( as long as they didn’t see him angrily throwing some experimental technology against the wall ) “hey. wasn’t expecting visitors. can i help in any way ?”
“Just checking everything out. I’m not usually down here because I’m in Admin Track,” Reilly explained with a shrug, trying to look casual. He could tell that the other male was irritated, but he made no mention of it. If he wanted to tell Reilly, he would in due time without any prompting.
“Apologies for disrupting your meditating then,” Reilly replied with a small nod. “And controlling the earth sounds like a very powerful but very different ability to have it. Is it a struggle? I’m not questioning your mastery, but it sounds difficult.”
Reilly chuckled. “Well, you would be surprised how many evil clones are been walking around,” he said, thinking about Kaine, his father and Peter Parker. He didn’t want to even get started on April and May. “And I’m Reilly Tyne, the Darkdevil. Scarlet Spider’s kid really, though Daredevil kinda was the one to take me in. And the good coffee is under the sink.”
“Let’s just say I have a very powerful creature watching over me and he kinda gives me his power when he can,” Reilly responded. He did not want to get into explaining Zarathos and how he came to be it’s host. It was something that often went beyond everyone’s sense of disbelief.
“Well, here we are a pair of survivors...capable of handling anything...and you’re still having reservations on what’s in the barrel?”
Casia was meditating, levitating on a large floating rock as a few smaller rocks swirled around her. She was somewhere more secluded on the Beach so nobody would interrupt her. Sia let out a few slow breaths until she heard a loud snap behind her. One of the floating rocks cut her cheek, and the rock she was sitting on fell to the ground but she landed on her feet. “Ah, give a girl a warning before you sneak up on her.” She said, pressing her hand against the bleeding cut.
“I didn’t mean to sneak up on you,” Reilly replied, putting his hands up. He was just walking around. He didn’t mean her any harm. “What are you doing exactly? You a telekinetic or something?”
