I have a story about Alys in the devilsburger universe that I think works very well as a standalone story, about her relationship with Richard, Henry, and her family, but the problem with it is that it's kind of a more serious/realistic-ish tone and after the end of the story it goes back to the goofy adventures and I'm like. How is she supposed to react to all this other nonsense happening as a reasonable person 😭 now that her Arc is Over

My thoughts are she tries to go out with Rich who kind of tries to be A Boyfriend but does not try that hard and also gets kind of groomed by Henry and is frustrated with her dad and brother. And in the end decides to focus on herself and have some personal courage and respect.

But then this means spending the rest of the other stories watching RichPhil disaster happen and being like...girl..... How would you even react in that situation. What do you even do. I'm at a loss. I'm about to send her on a summer vacation not to be misogynist to get the Girl out of the way but also because it'll just be hella awkward

Hi! I read the earlier comics, but I’m a bit confused about why Richard would like Philip. Didn’t he think Philip was just as childish as John? Plus, Richard used to bully Philip all the time when they were kids. When exactly did Richard realize he had feelings for Philip?

Yes, it’s true that Rich didn’t really see Philip in a romantic way for a while due to kind of dismissing him as being more like another annoying little brother. He also bullied him but didn’t see it as bullying, more like “this is a normal way boys treat each other in our house” thing. However things do start changing when they get a bit older. Without going into too much detail, Richard goes through a lot of familial and friendship drama and alienates himself from both groups, after which he starts to see Philip as someone who can be “on his side” in a way, as someone who is more “pure” and untainted by his familial and friendship baggage and drama. Does he go about managing these feelings in a healthy way? Maybe not…but it starts from there.

FUNNY ENOUGH, this is the subject of the comic i am currently working on right now…that will take some time to finish since it’s ended up being very long. 😭 i’m aware the current comics are all very scattered in the narrative, so i want to make something more emotionally cohesive that hopefully answers this question better and in a more concrete way than my plain explaining XD

im glad people are liking the Free Lunch comic but it also makes me realize I really need to work more on the Main Devilsburger comic....I made a little site for it on comicfury but the pages for the first part will take a while.

I'm a bit nervous because I have a lot of romantic elements but I don't think I stick very well to "romance" beats. Hope you can all enjoy very some problematic but hopefully funny and entertaining blorbos

A main thing is that I don't want to really over explain too much, I want to make comics (or fics idk) that show the behaviors and characters more than just saying, bc I feel when I draw them acting out they end up diverging sometimes from my "intention" in interesting ways ....thanks for sticking around 🙏

so I'm wondering about writing a college au of Eleanor of Aquitaine's kids and their siblings and such people but seeing as you're the main modern au person in this realm wanted to like. ask if that's chill and not too close to stealing your ideas

haha it's totally fine! I don't own the concept of these 800yo folks XD the fun thing about working with these plantagenet critters is that its always going to be different and reflect your personal tastes and interpretations. Theres been a couple of other fanfics of modern AUs I've read that have also been high school AUs on ao3, but a college one would be neat to see! I'd love to read whatever you come up with.

For me, Devilsburger has kind of grown to be its own creature since a lot of the character stuff has kind of expanded and built upon a lot from the original inspiration in line with the kinds of stories and moods that I enjoy most when it comes to a mix of silliness and serious BL(ish) drama. With the comics I'm currently working on, I hope that they can be enjoyable and readable even to those not in The Know, but with bonus levels of understanding of course for those who Get it...
