this is more centered around craig’s parents than his own children and ex-wife. craig’s mother and father were second generation immigrants, but still very close to their traditional ideologies. with that said, they were INCREDIBLY devout to his care. ( ha ... wow. look at that. a pun. ) they wanted nothing but the best for craig and, while growing up in america, plus craig’s personality, it was hard for him to see it as such in his youth.
his parents were strict. it wasn’t an intense strict, but it was still limiting in his eyes. he never really complained openly about it, but often sat in thought and hated how he would have to be home a certain time, that certain friends couldn’t hang out with him or that places around town were off-limits. HE UNDERSTOOD IT WAS FOR HIS BENEFIT ! he just felt ostracised from his friend group as a consequence.
his mother was very kind. now and then it didn’t come across that way, as he was young & brash, but the fact remains she loved craig more than she loved herself. HE WAS HER SON ! and craig wanted to make her proud. he did everything she asked, even made sure to be home thirty minutes before curfew so she didn’t worry. he was very, very close to his mother. yep. mama’s boy craig. there were plenty of incidents during her failing health where he’d race out of school to be by her side, trying not to cry but doing so anyways because he’s always been an emotional kid. she passed away sometime in college, and there was a notable difference in craig during those few months of desperate coping. her passing affected him very negatively at first, but as time went on craig sought help on campus as well as with his father. with his dad helping him and he in turn helping his father, they were able to accept her passing and move on. ( CRAIG WISHED HIS MOTHER WAS STILL ALIVE TO SEE THE TWINS & RIVER. )
his father and he weren’t as close as he and his mother were, but he still knew his father cared for him just the same. there was never a competition for who could love craig the most, and craig never forced their hands in believing his father cared any less. post his mother’s passing, he and his father grew A LOT closer, even whilst craig was in ‘’ party-boy ‘’ mode in college.his father attended his graduation, but a year afterwards passed away as well from failing health. CRAIG LOST BOTH HIS PARENTS BY THE AGE TWENTY-FIVE. but his father at least was able to see the twins. ( and he said his mother would have loved them to death, something craig likes to say to them in both his mother and father’s honour. )
