The Vaccines - No Hope
Oh I could bore you with the truth About an uneventful youth Or you could get that rap from someone else And I could make an observation If you are the voice of a generation But I’m too self absorbed to give it clout And I, I don’t really care about Anybody else when I haven’t got my whole life figured out Cause when you’re young and bored and 24 And you don’t know who you are Nobody’s No hope And it’s hard to come of age I think it’s a ṗroblem And it never goes my way And no, I am so self-obsessed I guess, but there’s no hope But I hope it’s just a phase Or I’ll grow-oh-oh-oh Oh I could look for inspiration Find it in a trouble at English station but wouldn’t that be cheap and ill-informed And I could bet you don’t believe me If I said a cape from deep within me But I promise you I’m telling you the truth And I, I don’t really care about Anybody else when I haven’t got my whole life figured out Cause when you’re 24 and young and bored And you don’t know who you are Nobody’s No hope And it’s hard to come of age I think it’s a problem And it never goes my way And no, I am so self-obsessed I guess, but there’s no hope But I hope it’s just a phase Or I’ll grow Well I wish that I was comfortable in my own skin But the whole thing feels like an exercise And drank would be someone I would rather not be I’d try to second guess if you would be approving I find my life ever so moving Keen wide-eyed and unassuming No hoṗe There is no hope But there’s desperately No hope, but there’s definitely No hope if you don’t believe me Oh, oh, oh And there is no hope But there’s desperately No hope, but there’s definitely No hope if you don’t believe me Oh, oh, oh But I, I don’t really care about Anybody else when I haven’t got my whole life figured out Cause when you’re 24 and young and bored And you don’t know who you are Nobody’s No hope And it’s hard to come of age I think it’s a problem And it never goes my way And no, I am so self-obsessed I guess, but there’s no hope But I hope it’s just a phase Or I’ll grow-oh-oh-oh There is no hope And it never goes my way And no, I am so self-obsessed I guess, but there’s no hope But I hope it’s just a ṗhase Or I’ll grow-oh-oh-oh

The xx - Angels
Back in May The xx re-emerged from their slumber, playing live for the first time in nearly two years at three intimate London shows where they unveiled new songs from Coexist, the impending sequel to their epynomous debut.
Today the trio officially released Angels, the album's reverb-soaked opener that could very well be mistaken for a Beach House track. It's not long, however, before the unmistakable voice of Romy Madley Croft sets matters straight. "Being as in love with you as I am," she chants, forgiving you for the momentary lapse.
Coexist is due on September 10th via Young Turks.
Passion Pit - Take A Walk
The first single from Passion Pit's highly anticipated sophmore album Gossamer is every bit as catchy as the band's 2009 breakthrough Manners. Lyrically, though, it's a considerable departure from the sticky songs of love that brought their debut effort such universal acclaim.
'Take A Walk' is a surprisingly honest commentary on the realities of the American Dream, presumably based on the life of an immigrant grandparent. It's a heavy subject that younger audiences might find harder to relate to, and yet it's just as applicable to anyone on the precipice of adulthood in the current economic climate.
Gossamer is out on July 24th.
Daughn Gibson - In the Beginning
An ex-trucker turned singer-songwriter, 31-year-old Daughn Gibson of Pennsylvania is as much a surprise as he's a breath of fresh air in the alternative country genre.
His debut album All Hell is a collection of ghostly ballads of small-town melancholy and gothic Americana, delivered over a rich baritone voice hauntingly reminiscent of Johnny Cash.
It's not quite anything like you've heard before and that's what makes him so intriguing and arguably the most hype-worthy new artist on the block.
All Hell is out now on Spotify.
St. Lucia - The Old House Is Gone
This thoroughly infectious track is the summer anthem you could listen to all year. With an impressive self-titled EP out already, St. Lucia is one to watch out for in 2012.
Purity Ring - Obedear
Canadian future pop duo Purity Ring was one of last year's best surprises and they have been hard at work on their impending debut LP, "Shrines", in proving exactly why. Fusing glittering synths by Corin Roddick with the seductively chilled vocals of Megan James, track no.9 'Obedear' does just that. Suffice to say, the album couldn't come sooner.
Shrines is out on July 24th via 4AD and Last Gang.
Airhead - Wait
Airhead is a London-based producer of abstract, experimental sounds much like James Blake in his early days. In fact, having already collaborated with the Mercury-nominated musician on the single, "Pembroke", Airhead is now out to prove he can follow in Blake's footsteps as a successful solo electronic artist. His new single, "Wait", is just a taste of what's to come.

Beach House - Myth
Drifting in and out You see the road you're on It came rolling down your cheek You say just what you mean And in between it's never as it seems Help me to name it Help me to name it If you built yourself a myth You'd know just what to give What comes after this Momentary bliss The consequence of what you do to me Help me to name it Help me to name it Found yourself in a new direction Arrows falling from the sun Canyon calling would they come to greet you Let you know you're not the only one Can't keep hanging on To what is dead and gone If you built yourself a myth You'd know just what to give Materialize Or let the ashes fly Help me to name it Help me to name it
