Oftentimes, when someone mentions the name ‘Dexter Clarke,’ the first image that comes to mind is one of the pretentious son of two lawyers, aka the richest family in the town of Bar Harbor where Dexter spent his childhood. However, that image of ‘money buys everything,’ seemed to skip his mindset. Typically, Dexter just lived normally, as he wasn’t one to flaunt his assets every day. Though, things did change when he lost those precious ties to his family after a girl fell pregnant with his child during his freshman year of college. It was a drunken hookup that ended up changing his entire world. After keeping the pregnancy a secret from his parents for months, he finally worked up the courage to confess. His parents overreacted, to say the least. They disowned him and cut off funds, effectively kicking him out of their lives as a sort of 'wicked’ punishment for 'ruining’ their reputations within the town.

Dexter took initiative and moved to England to stay with his grandparents for a few months along with the girl. They stayed together for about a year after their daughter was born before the girl ran off, leaving Dexter alone to raise his daughter. It didn’t take long for him to find a small IT job that took an associate’s degree and after a few months he found a small apartment and enrolled himself into school again in order to create a better life for his tiny family. Through the entire process, Dexter had to grow up pretty quickly while leaving behind the comforts of the life that he once knew. His immaturity does come out at times, though, especially when he is around alcohol, as he’s developed a bit of a drinking problem since the whole ordeal began.
