PROMPTS FOR PRE ESTABLISHED CONNECTIONS AND CREATING HISTORY BETWEEN CHARACTERS * Â assorted dialogue for giving your characters a history and giving them past things or events to talk about, adjust as necessary
do you remember what i told you last time?
have you been doing well since i saw you?
that's not what you told me back then.
when was the last time i saw you?
you were shorter then.
i'm picking the restaurant this time.
we've known each other since we were children.
always knew i could count on you.
that time was different. this is worse.
you're not going to let me live that down, are you?
i seem to remember a conversation we had back then.
so you changed your mind about it?
do you remember our encounter in paris?
you should know me by now.
am i the only one that knows the truth?
we had a lot of help back then.
your mom told me to look out for you.
you just love bringing that back up to annoy me.
maybe don't mention my past indescretions?
this was never going to work out between us.
i told you not to get attached.
i know more about you than you think.
i was there, remember?
i'm not about to forget all the shit you put me through.
you told me you were going to try and make this work.
remember what i said to you?
the last time i saw you, things were good between us.
you never mentioned this before.
that was the longest flight of my life, and you made it worse.
can i still trust you after all that?
at least we tried to make something work.
we never discussed what happened between us.
okay, but i'm driving the car this time.
i haven't forgotten what you said last week.
i'm still thinking about your comment.
i didn't realize it was you when i first saw you.
you seem to make a lot of enemies around here.
there's not much for us to talk about.
we worked it out last time.
i know you far better than you know yourself.
we have a long history.
is that the shirt you were wearing last time?
what don't i know about you?
i haven't told them about us.
you were the only person i could go to.
you know me.
this is bigger than both of us.
i can't stand your driving.
are you taking me to the place we had dinner last time?
that's not at all what you said.
didn't we agree on that?
i thought i made it very clear where i stand.
are these the same people that came after you last time?
are you still going on about it?
can we talk about it?
staying silent about it won't help.
you're the only person who knows the real me.
this is a bad time to talk about your problems.
@dancesanddreams said: â iâm not your property because i belong only to myself. â Mila/Isabella
Isabella raised her head from the pillow, wrapping the bedsheet underneath her legs to expose as little of her skin as possible. The thought of Mila seeing her naked was suddenly far less appealing than it had been. âYou think I want to own you?â She regarded the other woman with a fiery look in her eyes as she sat up and reached over to collect the various articles of clothing sheâd discarded in their earlier passion. âYou think that is what this is? You think that is how I see you?â She clothed herself, albeit haphazardly, in her robe and climbed out of the bed. She walked over to the French windows of the villa sheâd rented, extending a hand to highlight the view. âI paid for this trip because I wanted to show you how much I appreciate you; how much I think you deserve something to enjoy. I spent a week with Serafina researching the most beautiful destinations. I am beginning to wish I had not wasted my time.â Bella threw open the doors and wandered out onto the balcony, the soft summer breeze cool on her face. âI think I was kidding myself,â she mused, leaning onto the rail. âI wanted this to be pleasant for both of us. I wanted this to rekindle what I think has been dwindling for a while. We have passion, as we always have. But we donât have love, do we?â She looked over at Mila, shaking her head sadly. âYou donât want to be mine, Mila. You may say you donât want to be anybodyâs, but I donât believe that to be true. I think you want to be Marcosâ. Maybe you always did.â
@dancesanddreams said: â why didnât you say anything? â Louisa/Marcos
âHey, keep your voice down,â Marcos insisted, glancing over his shoulder to make sure his son wasnât in earshot. Thankfully, Charlie seemed to be making enough noise in the living room to be oblivious to the conversation between his father and aunt. Just a few weeks shy of his tenth birthday, Charlie was now at the age where his involvement in sports and games could bring various injuries. Marcos had taken him to the park to play with his friends, and Charlie had badly sprained his ankle after falling off a ledge. Marcos, naturally, had felt both distraught and angry with himself, despite the fact that the injury wasnât as severe as heâd initially feared.
Though he tried to keep Louisa up to speed with most events in Charlieâs life, not wishing to upset her by excluding her, there was something this time which had made him reluctant to inform her. He knew the reason, of course. âIâm sorry, okay?â he said, hoping the look in his eyes could convey the sincerity of his apology. âI didnât want to keep it from you, itâs justâŠâ He sighed. âEver since Charlie was littleâthe littlest Iâve ever known himâI wanted to be the perfect dad to him. I know such a thing doesnât really exist, but Iâve tried to be as close to it as possible. I already spend time away from him with my job, so Iâve always wanted the time we spend together to be special.â He thought back to the tears streaming down his sonâs face as he lifted him from the tarmac into his strong arms. âI feel ashamed, Lou. Thatâs why I didnât tell you. I canât even say I had looked away for a minute, because I was watching him. I was watching him climb up onto the wall, and instead of telling him to get down I just trusted that heâd be fine. What kind of idiot, irresponsible father does that make me?â

âI do have a deathly glare, so you never know what affect it may have,â replied Adelina, somewhat smugly. âI think Iâd have made an excellent Hogwarts wizard. Maybe my letter will finally arrive one dayâŠâ She trailed off in a daydream, eventually remembering that sheâd completely gone off topic. It was a frequent trait of hers. âAre you sure she wonât want that kind of attention? I mean sheâs related to two of the most self-indulged humans I have ever met.â Forcing herself to rid herself of sass, Adelina showed Charlie a more gentle expression and sat down next to him. She put her hand on his arm and smiled. âViolet will know the price she has to pay to hang around with you and if she doesnât then I can teach her how to deal with it. God knows Iâve had enough practise.â Adelina coughed. âSo is she? You womanâŠI mean. Are you guys likeâŠa thing now?â
*
Charlie sat up straight suddenly. âYou know who else wouldâve made a great Hogwarts wizard? The guy who auditioned for a part in the last film and made it down to the last two, but lost out to some weirdo whoâs never acted since. âThe guyâ being me, as Iâm sure you remember. Thanks for bringing that memory flooding back.â As much as daydreaming was a trait of Adelinaâs, Charlie had a habit typical of an actor: searching for a spotlight even where there was none, and bringing topics of conversation back to himself to an almost narcissistic degree. It had become more of a subconscious tendency than anything else, and it didnât mean that he didnât actually listen to others, but it was something his father still occasionally reproached him for even now.
Charlie sighed and looked over at his sister, grateful for the softness in her actions. âGood point. Still, sheâs a teacher. Schoolkids are dickheads at the best of timesâcan you imagine what theyâll be like if they recognise her from the papers? I know there are worse things than being romantically linked to me, but I donât want the boys being rude to her.â He shifted awkwardly in his seat and drew his eyes away from Adelinaâs face. âI donât know. I think Iâd like her to be, but I have no idea if she feels the same. Weâve known each other for so long, who knows if itâd even work out?â Charlie shrugged. When he finally brought his gaze back onto his sister, there was a playful expression on his face. âWhat about you, though? Have you finally confessed your undying love to that Jack yet? And donât try denying it, youâre nowhere near as good an actor as I am.â
eunoiaspiritedâ:
âYouâre cheeky, Charlie. I like that,â Violet breathed out, coolly, taking a cigarette from her pocket once theyâd reached the outdoors. âI havenât attempted to murder anybody yet and considering my parents, I think thatâs impressive alone. I havenât tried a threesome either, but itâs on my to-do-list.â She giggled and put her cigarette to her lips. âIâm still scarred from the moment Auntie Emilia told me that story.â She giggled again when he mentioned his job. She could take a joke, they didnât often get out of control with her. Sheâd became more patient in her emotions when Stephen was ill, before that sheâd not been able to take a joke at all. âAre you coming onto me, Charlie Garcia?â Violet threw her cigarette on the floor and crushed her shoe over it. She hadnât even finished it, but oh well, she needed a free hand with booze in the other. She ran her fingers down Charlieâs wrist and intertwined her fingers between his. âI think I found what I was looking for.â
*
Charlie watched Violet take out a cigarette and, without even really thinking about it, reached into his pocket and pulled out his own lighter, holding it up to light it for her in such a swift motion that it secretly impressed even himself. âAnd I thought my family was wild,â he replied with an amused chuckle. He knew his father had gotten up to a few tricks in his time, before he had settled down with Mila, but he was quite content not knowing about any of it; while he enjoyed to peruse articles about himself on gossip websites (even going so far as to defend himself against rude people under a fake account in the comments, when he had the spare timeânot that heâd admit that to anyone), he avoided mentions of his dad unless they were simply in praise of his career achievements. The knowledge that he was the product of a one-night stand was quite enough for him.
Charlie glanced across at Violet, a mysterious twinkle in his eye that may or may not have been visible in the low light. He had always found her attractive, that was for sure, and over the years had grown plenty fond of her too. Nothing had ever happened before, but all it takes is one night for things to change, after all. âThat depends on whether itâs working, Violet Carrisford,â he retorted in his most suave tone. He closed his fingers around hers as they continued walking, the journey back to his house not a long one when taking a shortcut through a private footpath. Not only was it the quickest way of getting home, but it also seemed the most discreet: no lurking paparazzi could surely hide themselves very well in such a dense area (such was Charlieâs belief, anyway). When they arrived at the house, Charlie led Violet up the long driveway and opened the door for her. âWhere would you like to go?â he asked, not daring to presume she wanted to go to his bedroom in case he had misread things completely. âI can put some music on, if you want. Or, just⊠anything. Iâm easy as a Sunday morning.â

Adelina: Oh, would you? That would be lovely.

Jack: Sorry if I worded that weirdly haha, I meant do you want me to come over right now?

Lara stared at Aurora blankly, trying to hold back an eyeroll or three. âYouâre just saying words now. Meaningless words that donât make any sense,â the brunette breathed out. She took her eyes off of Aurora for a moment or two and attempted to steady her breaths. Lara had never been an emotional kind of person, so instead anger and frustration came to the front. âI still have no idea why youâre doing this and why you wonât just stop.â
Whilst Lara was very fond of Aurora she knew she was the kind of person who would be able to move on eventually. Her mind owned her, her heart didnât. Emotions like hurt and love didnât run that deep, probably because of the way sheâd grown up. But knowing Aurora was in danger, how could she walk away from that without trying to fix it? The thought of what could happen to the womanâŠnow that made her worry.
âNo Aurora, this is all you. You should be asking what are you going to do. You need to stop. You need to get out and stop. Not just for my sake but for yours too.â
*
Aurora frowned, feeling a sudden and fleeting surge of anger rise within her. While she was painfully aware of the fact that she had messed up (continuously), it had never been her intention to involve Lara, and her conflicting emotions were swaying back and forth. âWell, Iâm sorry for not making much sense when my whole life has literally just been turned upside down,â Aurora snapped (or perhaps snarled may be a better way of describing the despairing sounds which fell from her lips). She hated how out of control she had so suddenly become. So used was Aurora to having a handle on her situation, and so accustomed was she to the precarious lifestyle she had (albeit unwisely) chosen for herself, that she was overcome with terror at the knowledge that it was all now crumbling beneath her fingertips. The one person she had wanted to trust was the one person she simply couldnât, and Aurora inwardly cursed herself for falling in love with a detective anyway.
She slid off the table she had been sitting upon, and, kneading her hands together, turned to look out of the window. There was not much of a view: just the car park at the back of the shop, but it was handy for knowing whether anyone was around. Nothing stirred outside, apart from a paper bag blowing across the tarmac. Aurora sighed deeply. âJust go, Lara. You need to go. You shouldnât be here after dark; I donât know who might be lurking around and Iâm not exposing you to that.â She wanted to look back at Lara, but didnât dare. âIâll get rid of the stash, somehow. I know my word probably doesnât mean much to you anymore, but if you can believe me, you should. It wonât be an overnight thing, but Iâll do it. Iâll get outâwhether youâre waiting for me afterwards or not.â

Charlie: Well, I am so sorry for being born

Just another day of over-reacting at everything, that seemed to be his life recently. He certainly didnât blame Rosalie for her reaction, or for his. In fact, it was probably quite fair considering the pace of the spiderâs scuttle. âWait did you just manage to rope me into buying you takeaway because you saw a spider?â Then his attention actually went to the spider. âWell Iâm not touching it. Do you have aâŠa heavy book or something? We could drop it on it, that should do the trick. R-Right?â He shook his head, looking around the room. âN-No, itâs fine anyway. Sometimes itâs the little things that are the scariest. What takeaway are you after then?â
Rosalieâs attention flitted between Benâs face and the ever-moving spider on the floor. Why couldnât it just stay in one place for more than ten seconds? âI have my dad wrapped around my little fingerâit must work on you, too,â she joked in reply, with a wiggle of her eyebrows. âBenny, donât you know Iâm a pacifist? I know spiders are the epitome of evil, butâŠâ Rosalie gently took hold of Benâs wrist and guided him away from the area. âMaybe if we just go to a different room, itâll disappear of its own accord and weâll forget all about it,â she said in a hopeful tone. She thought about which food she fancied, but, in all honesty, sheâd have been happy eating anything as long as she was with Ben. âHow about a pizza? We could watch a film as well, make a proper evening of it. And, since Iâm nothing if not fair, youâre allowed to pick the movie.â

âAnd that is exactly why she needed a break, those scathing texts,â Lara joked, feeling herself smile for the first time since sheâd had that argument with Aurora. âIâll make it for you, wouldnât want you aging those perfectly formed hands. Mine were already fucked before Mum and Dad found me.â Lara and Rosalie were very different and sometimes Lara did get annoyed with her step sister, but at the same time she told her everything. The brunette turned around and positioned herself resting up against the ridiculously-large sink. Even though sheâd been only ten when she was adopted, she still remembered what it was like to have nothing. Living in such a big house didnât feel real, even now. âYeah, thanks for that but I guess itâs your lucky day because you wonât have to see it. Ever. Again.â Lara sighed. âSheâs a criminal. She does something that could jeopardise my whole career. She didnât even consider how it would affect me.â

Rather than offer any protestation to Laraâs offer (which would, obviously, have been devoid of any genuineness on her part), Rosalie crumpled her nose and blew her sister a kiss to wordlessly thank her. She leaned against the doorframe, frowning as she listened to Lara speak. She didnât know Aurora very well, her only (brief) interactions with her being whenever she came to visit Lara at the house, but nothing in the girlâs demeanour would have ever led Rosalie to believe her to be a criminal. However, Laraâs tone was completely seriousâand she would know best, being a detective, so Rosalie could only stare at her in shock rather than dispute it.
âA criminal?â she echoed, after the revelation finally sunk in. She knew better than to ask for specific details, knowing her sister to be an utmost professional. âHow did you find out? Did you actually catch her in the act? Wait, before you say anything...â Rosalie held up a finger, pulling out her phone. She was supposed to be teaching a private dance lesson that afternoon, but her sisterâs emotional wellbeing took precedence, so she sent a quick, apologetic text to her student claiming a âfamily emergencyâ before sliding the phone back into her pocket. âOkay, you officially have my attention for the rest of the day. So, Cinderella, you can stop scrubbing the bathroom and you can come to my room to sit on my hideously messy bed and tell me everything youâre allowed to about this. And then Iâll decide whether or not to go and roundhouse kick Aurora.â
