I needed this utterly miserable and exhausted picture of solas on my tumblr too, this game makes me so happy
just look at this before and after, those dark circles under the dark circles:
I liked the old design so much more D:
I need to know where the new Solas goes to have his brows done. Like, did he have them tattooed to make himself look a bit more menacing? 😂
Add laser scar removal to the list. He so vain... :')
I've been following you for your POTO art, you're an inspiration to me. I've also been checking out your work for The Other Shore, it looks quite interesting. Gothic, melancholic, and a bit spooky. May I ask for lore, even a crumb? Totally ok if you're not ready to share it.
Thank you so much!! I'm happy you enjoy my work and are interested in my story ahhhhh 🥺❤️ this is also so nice to hear, that is the vibe I'm going for!! it is a gothic ghost story, mystery romance and horror 🥰 it takes place in an abandoned manor on the shore that is more than a little haunted and it deals with regret and trauma as you can expect from the genre 🤭 I plan to share bits about the plot along with art as I keep working on it since I'm bad at words and I fear that if I say too much I'll be less motivated to do the hard work haha 😖 thank you so much for the message!!

Old Man Willow is an ancient tree spirit of the Old Forest. Described as a “huge willow-tree, old and hoary. Enormous it looked, its sprawling branches going up like reaching arms with many long-fingered hands, its knotted and twisted trunk gaping in wide fissures that creaked faintly as the boughs moved. The leaves fluttering against the bright sky” (FOTR, Old Forest). Probably responsible for the rumors of living trees throughout the Shire, He first appears when the Hobbits venture through the Old Forest on their way to Bree. As they pass Old Man Willow they are put under a spell of drowsiness while Sam is pushed into the river. Merry and Pippin fell asleep in it’s cracks, ultimately becoming trapped. Samwise and Frodo attempted to free them by burning and frightening the living tree, only to anger Old Man Willow who begins to crush the hobbits within it. Tom Bombadil emerged with a song to stop Old Man Willow and free the hobbits. Tom would later explain that the Old Forest was filled with malicious trees but “none were more dangerous than the Great Willow: his heart was rotten, but his strength was green; and he was cunning, and a master of winds, and his song and thought ran through the woods on both sides of the river” (FOTR, In the House of Tom Bombadil). Old Man Willow is not described as an Ent or Huorn, but rather an evil spirit of the Old Forest itself. He has the ability for lesser magic (if we want to call it that) and to control other trees, as his goal is domination of the Old Forest.
“‘What?’ shouted Tom Bombadil, leaping up in the air. ‘Old Man Willow? Naught worse than that, eh? That can soon be mended. I know the tune for him. Old grey Willow-man! I’ll freeze his marrow cold, if he don’t behave himself. I’ll sing his roots off. I’ll sing a wind up and blow leaf and branch away. Old Man Willow!’ Setting down his lilies carefully on the grass, he ran to the tree. There he saw Merry’s feet still sticking out - the rest had already been drawn further inside. Tom put his mouth to the crack and began singing into it in a low voice. They could not catch the words, but evidently Merry was aroused. His legs began to kick. Tom sprang away, and breaking off a hanging branch smote the side of the willow with it. ‘You let them out again, Old Man Willow!’ he said. ‘What be you a-thinking of? You should not be waking. Eat earth! Dig deep! Drink water! Go to sleep! Bombadil is talking!’ He then seized Merry’s feet and drew him out of the suddenly widening crack.”
- Tom Bombadil rescuing the hobbits from the clutches of Old Man Willow, Fellowship of the Ring, The Old Forest.
Visual diary from Public Speaking group meeting today. I really went down on a bike, just a bruise, no biggie.
Have you ever found yourself wanting a metric ton of DAI music? Have you ever thought to yourself, aw man, DAI’s soundtrack was 15 hours shorter than I wanted it to be? If that sounds like you, then this is a link for you.
I’ve ripped all the music from this game - that is, all the ambient snippets of music that you hear while running around in the world, and all the music that happens in cutscenes - and it turns out there’s 16 hours (1.6 gigs) of it.
(- here’s the download link -)
So if you’ve found yourself wishing you had the heaps of music that never made it to the official soundtrack, you can now roll around in hours of it.
Earlier this year I started with the idea of completing a whole sketchbook with watercolor sketches. I can proudly say that this quest is done ! :)Watercolor is a wild beast, it’s crazy how things that takes, let’s say one hour digitally, can take up to 3 with a traditional medium. Each mistake opens up a totally new problem solving scenario to discover, because hey, no control Z !
There is still a lot of work and practice to get this to a good level but I’m glad I stuck to it till the end. Here are a couple of pages, maybe I will do a video of the whole thing later !
Pour mes amis Français, la citation sur la première page est de Jack London, et dit : “Vous ne pouvez pas attendre après l'inspiration, vous devez la poursuivre avec une massue !” .
The podcast I illustrate for is back with Return of the King! I can’t believe we’re on the last book :,)

“City in Paint” illustration series.
In many of my previous projects, I searched for pleasant, exciting, and nostalgic Japanese cityscape fragments. I then painted them as best as possible to make them look even more appealing. I tried to bend the reality I saw to do my artistic bidding, as is often done by animation background artists. Next, in the “Tokyo at Night” book, I explored and portrayed Tokyo’s night side, trying to uncover the truth about it. When painting those illustrations, I realized that I could make even quite desolate, grimy back streets seem appealing. This was a problem. Even though the final pictures looked “cool,” I wouldn’t say I like the original places, really, and would not want to live in a city like that at all.
So, together with Kana, we started thinking about how a more pleasant to live in city would look like. I tried to imagine everyday scenes from such a place without making them look too nostalgic and unobtainable. It’s not the “rose-colored” past or a world from an animated movie that will never come to be. I’m tried to paint a city that could exist in Japan even now.
I decided to paint digitally this time to convey more of the atmosphere of each place. I wanted to capture the temperature, the smell of the air, the play of the light, or the weather. For this, having the flexibility of digital tools helped a lot.
To fuel this creative attempt, I was using a lot of elements from the many reference photos I took in Japan during ten years of living here. Having a library like this allowed me to make the paintings more believable.

The Grim Anatomy from Dragon Age: The World of Thedas Volume 2 [x]
In 9:16 Dragon, a strange book was recovered during a University of Orlais expedition into an uncharted section of the Western Approach. The book is written in an invented script by an unknown author, apparently on the subject of animal physiology.
The author of this book, dubbed the “Grim Anatomy” by its finders, dissects various creatures using unorthodox methods. The resulting diagrams illustrate in great detail how nugs, giants, wyverns, and others look on the inside. Careful study is paid to the eyes of the nug. Based on the drawings and a limited deciphering of the text, the author seems all but obsessed with understanding what animals see and how this might differ from our own perception of reality.
In later pages of the Grim Anatomy, the author tears a giant’s eye straight from its socked. “If the eye is the window through which it crawls, then where in the skull does it hide,” they wonder. “It” likely refers to a demon attempting to possess the beast.
It is widely believed that the Grim Anatomy’s focus is on demonic possession, specifically how a demon, itself a tangible being, can enter into the mind of another and manipulate it. Here, the author observes the motor skills of a possessed wyvern. “It is not wearing the creature’s skin,” the notes read. “It has become the creature; its mind, it’s senses…its blood.”
The last pages of the Grim Anatomy are largely unreadable, torn, and singed. It’s as if someone attempted to destroy the book. What little can be made out speaks of rot and emptiness. The accompanying diagrams are bizarre, no longer resembling the physiology of any known animal but instead a mess of overlapping and interconnected geometric shapes.
