Words cannot describe the joy with which I watch this video. Especially the end when the cops come over to their jeep.
Casey Neistat, his cinematographer and the other skier are brilliant!

"Life Is Upon You" is from the White Hills album "Walks For Motorists," out now on Thrill Jockey. LP/CD: http://thrilljockey.com/thrill/White-Hills/Walks-For-Motorists iTunes:…
Ego Sensation made this new music video that features Natalie and Leo and also our friends, Giulia and Leo Bottero. You will see them at the end after 3 min in. Check it out and enjoy the mix of formats. It was shot with a Canon Rebel, an iPhone 5 and a wonderful old Super-8 camera. I shot the ‘Little Rascals’ type scene at the end. Ego always has great ideas and I love how this video has a story mixed in with all the cool NYC footage. The kids loved getting out the lemonade stand and dressing up in costumes and the song RAWKS! You will be nodding your head in agreement after the opening bars...
So fun to work with her on this and to see how the kids ended up doing some decent acting.
Help us create a new yoga mat for grade school kids and we will donate 1/2 of the first production run to children's hospitals.
My friend Jensen is over half way to her Kickstarter goal of raising money to create a new line of yoga mats. I like this campaign because it involves her giving back to children’s hospitals all over the country. We helped her out by making the video so that she could tell her story.
If you love yoga and have kids, take a look. Her mats are non-toxic, the correct size for kids and terrific for your mind and body, We want to support women entrepreneurs and love this project in particular because of it’s message about what yoga does for our health and well-being. Jensen’s husband, another creative soul, Greg, is a projectionist at the Film Society of Lincoln Center and spends his spare time directing plays.
Please support this wonderful project. You can get a yoga mat for your kids too!
NOTE: This project was funded for $36,803.00 on August 7, 2015 with 280 backers! We can’t be happier for Jensen and the team!
This was an interesting afternoon with Sophie Uliano and Rose Caiola. We did a number of beauty care demos and I thought this one was really easy to make. Sophie was charming and I loved her interaction with Rose. I shot this in the digital studio I set up for Rose and her site, Rewire Me. I liked how we did the demo in front of a neutral background that makes these women pop because of the bright colors they are wearing. My favorite part is the interplay with Rose asking her about her Rewire Me moment. Sophie came to her career because of a life changing moment that she shares with Rose starting at 5:11.
The White Hills new video is out! It’s called No Will and we over here are all playing it at LEAST once a day! Listen and you too will be rocking out to the driving beat of our favorite duo. Love the shots, the story and how Dave’s persona really comes through with all his cool facial expressions and acting. Besides the cool shots and lighting, it’s just one of those songs that gets into your head. Check here for their European Tour Dates!
My friends White Hills are getting ready to go on tour in Europe in a few weeks. Check out their new trailer for the album, Walks For Motorists that shows footage from the Welsh countryside where they recorded their new album.
Saw this premiere of their song, No Will, on the Entertainment Weekly site today and loved how they are getting such good press on this.....
I also love that fans have been making videos with footage from White Hills live in concert mashed up with footage from the Jim Jarmusch film, Only Lovers Left Alive. Here is one of the mashups by Ava Noir that uses the footage to great effect.
We have had quite a winter so far here in NYC so here are some pretty shots with a new camera we are fooling around with. It's the Sony FS7 and while it's a little bigger than other cameras we usually use, I love the look of these shots. This is with the kit lens too, an FE/4 PZ 28-135 G OSS! It's shot at 180 FPS and then is played back at 24 FPS.
We shot some more tests with people against a window and it's amazing how you can set the camera so that it's not back-lit at all. Looked pretty with the falling snow in the background. Will post that test soon.
I love it anytime that Sarah Silverman picks up a microphone! This chat is interesting and I liked the contrast between her and Tig Notaro.
I also loved her show, We Are Miracles and am always impressed by her wit and charm. Although, it may not be for all of you, she always gets me thinking about important things.
Elaine Gates, the wonderful professor who runs the NYU Children’s Chorus program is retiring. Luckily, we got to work with her for a few years on the exceptional program she started. You can see Natalie and Leo in this video if you look closely, Leo is wearing the “Talk to my Agent” t-shirt and is holding the A.
A lovely young educator, Carol Beadle, is taking over the program and we met her this Fall as she worked with the children to prepare for the Holiday Sing at NYU. Professor Gates will be missed by everyone involved in the chorus.
Johnny T's Subway Tips Loved this. Not only because I ride the subway all the time, but because Glove and Boots, the team that made this brilliant video, is always doing wonderful work. I love how they say, "Don't be a jerk". Their videos resonate so much so that my kids will stop a family member when they are shooting video with a smart phone and holding it wrong because of their funny and poignant VVS: Vertical Video Syndrome PSA.
They really have something here with telling a story in a most unusual way that always entertains.
The TV of Tomorrow Show 2014 December 9, 2014 at the SVA Theater
I produced another documentary for Tracy Swedlow today who puts on the TV of Tomorrow Show both here and in San Francisco. I love working with Tracy and her team as she really brings together such interesting people who are talking about how the future is unfolding on TV and on the internet. Whether people are talking about OTT (Over the Top Content) or how to manage regulatory issues like the FCC, I was interested and engaged. This video above is from last year's show which was awesome too. Now, I will backup everything (Footage shot with the Canon C100 and the Canon 60D and the GOPRO Hero4 Black ), transfer it all onto a hard drive and send to my colleague and mentor, Skip Sweeney, who does the editing.
I did some vines today as well so you can see some of the SVA Theater, TVOT's new location downtown. It was a super fun day and I loved interviewing all the folks there who were gracious enough to talk to me.
Wind and Paper by Peter Drew.
I just liked this. Take a look and you'll see why. Definitely interested in what camera he used.
Starboard 13k4 My friend Antrony Hodgkinson posted this short video of White Hills on tour that has some cool photography and pacing. I liked how he edited the photos and how the driving beat keeps us engaged, especially from 1:46 to the end. His earlier piece is Starboard 13k4 if you wanted to take a look at that one. I can't wait for the next chapter!
Just attended this screening of Almost There at the Doc NYC Festival and was very impressed. Powerful documentary that questions the artists' craft and how much latitude we give to outsider artists and also what it is like to help mentally disabled people. Liked how the film flowed and how the filmmakers involved themselves in the story too.
Another short profile of the Proenza Schouler show from Sept. 10, 2014 during NY Fashion Week. Really liked their style and clothes and the presentation was really kind of 'out of this world'.
This is kinda old news at this point, but is a good example of my work during NY Fashion Week. This is a short profile of the Marc by Marc Jacobs Designers, Luella Bartley and Katie Hillier from Sept. 9, 2014 at Pier 94 on the Hudson River. They were very pleasant to us and Aline and although they were exhausted, they really gave us some interesting sound bites.
I also like following hillierlondon and luellabartley on Instagram as they post some cool photos.
By Jake Becker Spectators both local and international lined up New York City’s five boroughs to support friends, family and – for most – strangers who ran in this year’s marathon. A crisp autumn day greeted the runners and their supporters, but neither mentioned the pleasant weather as the best part of the day in this audio …
This was a nice audio slide show that features Natalie's girl-scout troop. Liked the sound bites from the girls and also the commentary from runners and spectators. You can see a shot of Natalie handing over some hot chocolate to a cop at about :40 seconds in wearing a bright green coat. The girls were pretty excited to be interviewed so it was cute that they were featured so prominently. I also like how this audio slide show was put together as it really gets us to the sidelines of that event.
