Setting up XMR mining on AMD rig

Are you getting a missing OpenCL error?  apt install ocl-icd-opencl-dev

amdgpu pro boot problem? The driver is probably conflicting with internal graphics on your mb. On driver install use: ./amdgpu-pro-install --px

Don't forget to add user to video group: sudo usermod -a -G video $LOGNAME

Before you build maybe you want to remove the dev donation?

When you are done, move to the bin folder and edit the config.txt file to include your stratum link and user.worker password login.

Now run your miner ./xmr-stak-amd

Importing a Private Key To Bitcoin-qt

Do you want to import the private key from your friend’s #bitcoin wallet? Maybe they can’t reach the blockchain? Maybe they don’t know how to import it themselves?

Well, here is how you do it using Bitcoin-qt 0.10.1

Some considerations:

I don’t store blockchain in the default location. I point Bitcoin-qt to an external drive using the command -datadir=“file_location”

There is no RPC client functionality in bitcoind anymore. You have to use bitcoin-cli utility instead. (Wiki Needs Updating)

Start Bitcoin as a server- >bitcoinqt -server

This will require a bitcoin.conf file in \Bitcoin.  The error messages are surprisingly helpful in setting this up.

Save as “bitcoin.conf” -include quotes to force file type.

Unlock your wallet to receive new private key- >bitcoin-cli -datadir=F:\Bitcoin walletpassphrase “your_awesome_really_super_long_passphrase” 120

120 is the timeout value in seconds

Caution: This will enter your pass phrase in cmd bash memory. (See Wiki for more information)

Import private key- >bitcoin-cli -datadir=F:\Bitcoin importprivkey “your_super_long_private_key”

Bitcoin-cli will rescan the block chain for your private key. Please wait a moment.

Your private key is imported.

Value through the block chain is an excellent first step in moving the economy away from hierarchy.
