This took longer than expected, but it's finally done! I did not try at ALL with dialogue formatting so hopefully it doesn't ruin the tone. Featured is one panel redraw and quote from chapter 27, where Johnny says he can only trust in Gyro :( also the wound is from when Slow Dancer threw Johnny in the first few chapters and he got skewered by the fence, jeez. Hopefully you guys enjoy, shoutout to specifically @johnnyjoekidjoestar who has reblogged I think almost every progress update 😭 I hope you like it bro

i'm so embarassed to say that this is the first time i'm drawing him in a wheelchair (which is also not historically accurate - whole rant under the cut)

his wheelchair in the anime is pretty on point with historical accuracy from what i can tell from my own research but i kinda looked back on the manga and used that as a reference too because putting him in a chair with the back rest so high up (like in the anime) wouldn't be comfortable like where would his arms go when propelling the wheels?? afaik the one in the manga has a shorter back rest at least in chapters later on.. and i found a few late 19th century wheelchairs that had a back rest of similar height to this one so i guess i'm maybe not totally off track but then again i just didn't wanna give him a stiff-ass bulky wheelchair,,, anyways this one is more based on the manga version but barely if i'm being honest. i'm always open to (genuine) criticism btw!

p.s. the wheels are all fucked up and weird because i can't draw a circle. im so serious. and youd think "just use the circle tool?" but i don't like how i lose a lot of line weight like that so i avoid it (≡ε≡；)
