Chubby was acting super weird today - he hid in bed all evening and couldn’t stop shaking even when I tried to comfort him. He seemed extremely distressed/agitated for no reason, so I joked that there must be an earthquake coming (last time that happened he was with my sister, and apparently frapped back and forth along the bunk bed tearing apart all her stuffed animals before the earthquake hit). Then at 1am, lo and behold, an earthquake struck. I hadn’t noticed that Chubby wasn’t sleeping (normally by 1 he’d be sound asleep), but immediately after the earthquake came and went he collapsed on his pillow and drifted off.

This was the first time I’ve observed this - pretty cool that some dogs can predict earthquakes. Has anyone else experienced this before with their dog (or cat)? I’d love to hear some stories (here’s an interesting article by Stanley Coren on the phenomenon).
