Some girl I knew from high school posted this on FB and I’m disappointed to see how many shares/comments it got. And all the comments were praising her.

If you’re female and you think you “don’t need feminism” then you are obviously living in a privileged environment compared to other females around the world.

Marches happened all around the world….who are you to say they don’t need it? Have you live through everyone else’s experiences?

And let me point out to the people saying I’m being a “hypocrite”. Not every experience is the same, I get that. If YOU think you don’t need feminism, then cool. Don’t go acting like it isn’t effecting others though. So no, I’m not being a hypocrite, I’m looking at both sides instead of saying “oh these marches are dumb because I feel equal to men”.

Side note: In no way did I attack her for her view, I SAID I FELT DISAPPOINTED. Because you all are coming at me as if i called her the devil. I SIMPLY STATED that she’s not the only woman in this world and other female may not have it as well or be as privileged.

Well maybe you should have actually read my post. Feminism is needed, maybe she doesn’t want it but others do (especially in other countries)

What are you even trying to argue about? I said nothing about the “aspects” she talked about. She gets equal pay? Great. But do everyone else? No. The POINT I made in my original post was that not everyone is as fortunate as this as she should at least recognize that instead of telling women they’re “dumb” for fighting for something that is “not needed”.

and as a woman who is in the military- who still will have less of the chance to be considered for a higher position in leadership, who will be told they are less than their male counterparts, who are STILL not paid the same amount as their male counterparts. this girl must be blind to not see the need for feminism in our country when a white man makes almost twice as much as a POC than you clearly must not give two shits about yourself, or your children or the future of young girls who might look up to you. shame on her for saying that when i know for a fact she’s probably had to deal with at least one of those things she mentioned herself.
