my 100% failproof way to handle reactionaries asking why i don’t shave at all is going “because i don’t want to” it works because what they really want is an argument about the merits of feminism, and they’ll draw it out and try to convince you it’s a cult or whatever, but you can avoid it all by sticking to “i just don’t wanna. don’t feel like it” and if they argue with you about it you can use your ultimate ability, which is “i’m sorry i thought it was a free country?” which, believe me, they cannot come back from. they’ll either drop it or start harping on something you didn’t say, and it’s important you don’t take the bait at that point. when they can’t argue with what you say, they assume your beliefs and attack those. and you crucially must be visibly baffled at their change of direction because it will make them seem and possibly feel crazy (which they are). “i don’t want to shave” is a perfect response because truly it all comes down to autonomy and the ability to do what you want. they’ll try to say “feminism makes you think you have to do that” and it’s important to not take that bait. to reiterate that you don’t know what they mean and you just don’t like shaving and that it’s really weird to look into it that deep. this works i promise

i think the near-extinction of people making fun, deep and/or unique interactive text-based browser games, projects and stories is catastrophic to the internet. i'm talking pre-itch.io era, nothing against it.

there are a lot of fun ones listed here and here but for the most part, they were made years ago and are now a dying breed. i get why. there's no money in it. factoring in the cost of web hosting and servers, it probably costs money. it's just sad that it's a dying art form.

I made a post about this a few days ago and deleted it because idk I was really upset at the time and I was just sort of all over the place. This week my family suffered the devastating loss of a newborn child, my nephew. He was born very premature and unfortunately did not survive NICU. I'm not really dealing with it very well, at least internally, though I'm trying to maintain a sense of normalcy for the sake of my mental health and for my son, who lost his only cousin. My heart is bleeding for his parents, his grandparents, everyone. For whatever I'm feeling it is nothing compared to the hell his parents are going through and the grief they will have to carry for the rest of their lives. I am also devastated to realize that I will never know him, I will never get to see the person he'd have grown up to be, I will never get to see him playing with my son as I was so looking forward to.

I'm just posting this here because I may be sparse and quiet for awhile while we navigate through things, while I navigate through my grief. There's been so much loss in my family in the past 5 years it's just...really, really hard, but this was a special kind of deep wound.

So anyway, that's what's going on with me. I'll be alright and will come back to doing my usual thing in time I'm sure. Idk if you pray or are just willing to send some healing vibes into the universe or anything like that I'd very much appreciate it. Thank you for listening, I love yall.
